Great, lively new restaurant with yummy food! Outdoor space is awesome!
This was a wonderful night. Michelle’s service was impeccable and The Dial accommodated us very well inside when the rain closed the beautiful outdoor patio.
Loved it, perfect location for socially distanced dining and drinks during the cold months. Courtyard is blocked from the wind, space heaters keep everyone warm and happy!
I love this place. It’s my number 1 go to because the food, drink, service, ambiance, and overall experience are 5-star.
We've eaten at the Dial a couple times now; however, this is the first time since the menu change. The food quality is outstanding and I will say some of the dishes are a bit intimidating but 100% worth trying. We had the ceviche, lentil falafel, duck bao, borek and kitfo; of which, from flavor profile, to dish size, to quality are all incredible and look forward to trying again. We split the the dan dan noodles and the moqueca (I'd travel the city just for this dish) - both very very good. The cocktail list will take you on an adventure but the waitress/bartender was super helpful and we landed on a perfect cocktail (measure of a man sour), as well as a dirty martini (hard to beat). Overall, excellent experience and will be returning.
Sadly, though reviewed higher on google, this place doesn’t make it happen. Drinks were odd, meaning they were mixed with ingredients that didn’t didn’t compliment each other. A simple vodka martini had olives that tasted chemical-like.
Ceviche was good, but the puffed rice idea is... eh. The Ethiopian tartare just really felt like you were eating hamburger, really odd flavor to it. I had the dan dan noodles, which again, flavored oddly. Looked like it was dragged in dirt, seriously. After I mixed the bowl up, it looked less than awesome.
Service was ok, friendly staff, but it took a solid 15 minutes after we had been seated before a waitress came over to ask for drinks.
I said to the couple sitting by us on our way out, “Did you like the food here?” To which he responded “no, it’s really not good at all.”
Hate to relay something negative, but sadly it was just... a waste of money.
We started with the duck bao buns and the lentil falafels - both were incredible! For our meal we shared a small portion (perfect amount) of the cavatelli and the duck entree. The cavatelli was extremely tasty, rich in flavor but not overwhelming and pasta cooked just right. The duck entree is the best I’ve had in the city by far - slight crisp, fresh, juicy - hard to beat. For cocktails, we had the two new holiday concoctions and again and without fail the Dial team nailed it.
Great new place with amazing heaters in an outdoor courtyard. We started with the Pumpkin Tres Leches as it looked too good to miss. Food and service were great, even on a cold afternoon.
The new menu items are delish and as always the cocktails are the best in the area.
Food was great and I love the heaters in their patio area.
Love the ambiance of the patio! There are heaters so I was nice and warm outside. Exceptional drinks and food. The lamb sliders were delicious.
due to the pandemic, I chose to enjoy an outdoor dining experience at Dial and was so impressed! the heat lamps were warmed up our table. the waitress was so attentive and gave great recommendations. the food was amazing! I'll definitely go back!
Went for brunch this weekend - would highly recommend. Portions are pretty small so would recommend ordering a few dishes / sides to share for the table.
The carne asada bowl and ceviche were delicious, however the chilaquiles left much to be desired.
Best outdoor heaters in town!
A new fusion restaurant in Central Square. The dishes were okay but felt too inventive and detached from the original inspiration. The price was not reflective of the overall taste and service.
We had a lovely dinner outside on their patio on a chilly evening. The patio is well lit, tables are spaced out, it has the warmest heat lamps I have encountered in Boston, and is totally off the street.
The food was interesting and delicious. Highly recommend.
The drinks were awesome and this one of the few patios where their outdoor seating is actually really well heated!! Great service as well!
Very creative menu.
Lamb sliders are amazing.
The Brussels sprouts are practically a religious experience.
Bundled up and enjoyed a fine meal under the heat lamp on Saturday. Appetizers (shout out for the ceviche which was extraordinary) and entrees were fabulous. Baklava dessert was amazing. Will definitely be back.
My only pet peeve was the piped in music. I could not believe I was hearing a rather clean Eminem and Dr. Dre tune (although a fan0, I do not think it is really appropriate dining music).
Been here twice since The Dial first opened. Very good food! Steak, lamb ribs, noodles, salmon and dessert all delicious! Definitely recommend to anyone looking to try a new place to eat. Looking forward to drinking at the bar once the Covid has passed.
Their outdoor patio is enclosed and has heat lamps which arc over the table, allowing for much more heat to be distributed amongst the diners at your table as opposed to the heaters which are vertical and thus only benefit those directly next to it.
Very friendly staff and delicious food.
The ambiance was great. The service was not. We were seated and not approached again for another 30 minutes. We had to wave the waiter down to put in our food order. The food was good and the cocktails were amazing.
Great outdoor space behind restaurant (enclosed patio) with regular and high top tables.
Great heaters that hang over table top - nice and warm.
Great brunch menu - had the steak tips bowl with quinoa and black beans - relish!
Very friendly service. Indoor has air circulators/cleaners.
Highly recommend. Hard to find as nice outdoor in Central Square
This restaurant is such a wonderful addition to our neighborhood. With the pandemic, it provides a warm and safe place to have a great meal with wonderful service.
Great patio with heaters and social distance as the weather gets colder. Good drinks, good food, good service but they were busy.
Great place to eat outside. Very nice gourmet food. Good menu.
Outstanding creative food dishes and excellent tasting wine
It was my fist time, and i've been daydreaming about going back ever since.
The outdoor set up was perfect for turned out to be a chilly night. The courtyard-style setting, along with the wonderfully non-intrusive heat lamps made for a cozy evening.
The service and food was also delightful.
I went here for brunch with 4 friends. The decor and vibe is awesome. The food was mediocre and over priced for what it was. Dont get the chicken egg nachos! On the plus side, the service was good! I think they will improve the food with feedback from customers. Looking forward to going back and ordering something else.
Dial is a great new restaurant in Central Square. I highly recommend the brussel sprouts, ceviche and moqueca. We shared a few starters and everyone enjoyed their meals. The drinks were delicious.
The patio for outside seating is really nice and they have a good amount of heaters for the colder nights.
The service was great, from the hostess adjusting the heat lamp over our table, to the ordering and delivery of food it was all great. The outdoor space is nicely spaced and their heaters are top of the line. On a 50 degree night we were very comfortable. The drinks were also excellent. Our group ordered mixed drinks and wine and loved everything we selected. The food however was very hit or miss. The dolmas were not good, the Ethiopian kitfo, had little flavor, and the "injera" was...well, it wasn't that. It was some sort of brown crepe with no flavor. The fideos pasta was tasty and the half-portion was decently sized. The brussels sprouts were fine, as was the cured salmon and the borek. I will definitely come back for the lovely drinks and the experience, but will be hoping for more in the food department.
Possibly the best patio in cambridge. Amazing heaters (it was in the 50s when we ate dinner and none of us had jackets on), super friendly staff, and awesome cocktails. Food was good - eclectic menu, but there was something for everyone. I will definitely return.
It’s our first time in Boston and Jackeline our waitress made our dining experience amazing. She was super friendly and nice.
Very creative menu. Excellent service. Delicious food. Great environment.
The experience was surprisingly perfect considering how new the restaurant is.
The Drink are amazing, but the food is not that good.
The staff are friendly and accommodating. Food was prepared well and it tasted amazing.
Hotel/restaurant location was perfect. I would eat and stay here again.
We had 5 of the small plates and a bottle of wine. We recommend the Kinilaw* Filipino ceviche, the Kitfo* Ethiopian beef tartare, the Sweet Potato Borek, the Jerk Quail and the Pork Pelmini. Save room for the Pumpkin Tres Leches Cake (actually, start with dessert).
We ate outside on the patio and the staff was very accommodating when it came to moving the heat lamps to take some of the chill off. There's a very casual vibe to the patio but the food is excellent.
Great evening. Unique menu but everything we tried was scrumptious especially the paella and pumpkin cake (and I don’t like pumpkin and rarely eat cake!) BEST accoutrement: their outdoor heaters! Never saw these anywhere else. Radiate heat over a large area beautifully.
Great food, great ambient, love the aesthetic (good for instagram photos) and the hosts was very nice to us. Definitely recommend.
