Lovely welcoming pub with staff very friendly and great service, the food was delicious
Not a good experience
Time to update the menu
Looked uncared for in the bar. Seats pushed everywhere.
First time at The Foxham after a friend’s recommendation . I must say we were not disappointed . The service was excellent and food amazing. Would definitely come again and recommend to my friends and colleagues at work. 😊😊😊
A very enjoyable evening with prompt friendly service along with our food cooked to perfection and as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary it completed a perfect day and we will be recommending The Foxham to our friends in the future.
Sunday Roast was good, although the bowl with veg came with a cheese sauce on it. When I advised that I didn't like cheese, the response was, oh sorry.
There was no offer to try and get me some veg without cheese.
Nice location and comfortable surroundings. Eton Mess was underwhelming; chocolate brownie was superb. Prawn starter was Very nice but would have like bread separate to soak up the lovely juice.
Vegetables were tasty but scanty; roasts were delicious. Coffee was good.
Hope the new owners settle in and develop the business. It is a good half way point for me to meet my friends from Bristol.
Would of had 5 stars but the Main Course fish of the day, although very tasty wasn't enough, more like a large starter than a Main Course - more spuds and carrots please 😉
A fab place - friendly staff who give you a warm welcome- excellent food - what more can you ask for
We were looking forward to an exciting gastronomic experience as per previous visits to The Foxham Inn and then discovered upon arrival that it had recently changed hands.
The menu reflected this straight away: while a limited number of main course choices was welcome (6), we were immediately informed (7.30pm) that the Fish & Chips and Chunky Chips were sold out. Obviously these were from a packet (shame) and I refrained from suggesting they peel some potatoes!
Having driven 11 miles to get to Foxham, our party of four decided to stay and give it a chance anyway (we were hungry)
We opted for the Antipasti Sharing Platter to start. At £14, we expected more than a few slices of supermarket salami/prosciutto/chorizo, bread and tiny pots of olives and oil/balsamic (the oil was so minimal that we had to ask immediately for it to be filled).
For mains, I opted for Green Veg Risotto, my partner the Lamb Rump, and parents the Chicken Milanese (in place of Fish & Chips). While the lamb was tender and went down well, the risotto was overladen with cream and minimal veg and the chicken awash with oil (so much so my parents were up most of the night).
I’m very sorry to write a negative review - not my bag - but I’m afraid this experience wasn’t value for money and we won’t be returning.
We stopped to eat here on our way between 2 holiday houses, having had a look at the Good Food Guide. It was a busy Friday lunchtime, and had a nice feel to the place. Dog friendly too, which is a bonus. The cooked dishes were really tasty (homemade Scotch egg, burger) as was the sandwich. Salads were ok. Service was good and friendly.
Perfect Sunday lunch with old friends. Loved it
Risotto not as described on the menu. Tiny burger, dry and salty. Very poor value for the money.
Friendly village pub - excellent food and efficient service. Delicious wines too.
Such a shame but on the whole the experience was disappointing. I felt Analise was not as welcoming as she could have been. One of our party was a coeliac which meant that she could only eat GF and this was denoted when the booking was made online. This should have been picked up by Analise when taking the meal order and not for the customer to point it out. The customer then had to ask which food was GF as opposed to Analise not being forthcoming with the options. Felt the food was a little overpriced considering it's a pub and not a restaurant. When I asked for the bill it arrived with just the total amount payable so had to ask for it to be itemised. I have decided to recommend The Foxham Inn to friends to make their own judgement but as for our custom we will probably not return. On a positive, the position of the pub is beautiful as we sat outside on a glorious sunny day.
We thought that the vegetarian offering (risotto)was poor.
It was fairly tasteless and a small plate. It would have benefited from some parmesan cheese and maybe some extra green veg eg spinach or haricot beans.
Under new ownership. Excellent food and friendly service.
The foxham team deliver quality food in a timely, polite and friendly way.
Lovely pub beautiful food and very helpful and friendly staff.
Fantastic service, so welcoming, nothing was too much trouble.
Food superb, honest dishes with something extra.
Wine list is excellent and the choice by glass superb, puts many other pubs to shame.
Slightly pricey, but well worth it.
Will be returning
Lovely atmosphere, lovely food and a very friendly host. Great restaurant, would definitely eat here again
Food was outstanding and the service was with a smile and cheery. Would recommend to anyone.
As always the food was delicious. We had crab cakes to start followed by duck breast with red cabbage absolutely stunning.
Beer good overall up to the usual superb standard.
Amazing food, as always. The service is always welcoming and nothing too much trouble.
This is our go too inn for amazing comfort food, the food is always on point. I highly recommend the ham hock and for any left over they are always happy to wrap it to go.
Booked at the last minute after another pub let us down. Never been to the Foxham Inn before - what a great find! Excellent food, excellent ale, and excellent, warm and friendly service. A really great meal - we will definitely be back soon.
Re: C-19 precautions - we had a nice pub table outside. All had a pub umbrella, except for three which were under a decent sized covered area. The latter tables would probably be fine even on a rainy day.
Lovely food and service. Would definitely recommend.
A delightful experience as always despite sitting outside on a relatively cool day, our co-diners were good company too.
Excellent food as usual, lovely setting and friendly staff.
My favourite place to dine in Wiltshire.
What a lovely place, but the best thing of all was the staff, so friendly and accomodating , thanks so much
As usual the food was excellent, the pub is setup well with "pods" separated by clear plastic dividers. Lots of hand sanitisers around the pub so felt completely safe.
Selection of food and drinks are slimmed down but could not fault the selection and as always felt pleased with the choices and the amount.
Happy to return.
Lovely home cooked tasty food with a welcoming and friendly service.
Delicious home cooked food and very friendly service.
Top quality home made rustic fare in large portions, really lovely place
Great food. Great service. Always a treat to eat here
Amazing place would highly recommend it. Great food and host. Very clean and beautiful location. Loved our stay.
Lovely country pub with good pub food service was fantastic and staff were great
we arrived on time for our booking and they were ready for us with a choice of tables
the mussels we shared were delicious
we had roast beef which was excellent including the yorkshire pudding and vegetables
this is the second time we have been and we will be going again
We where very disappointed with our experience at the Foxham inn. Whilst I can sympathize with the difficulties COVID-19 creates, there is no excuse for out and out poor food. The pate starter was literally a slab of pate plonked in some pickle on an otherwise empty dinner plate accompanied by 2 slices of toasted supermarket Bread. Other starters where no better and the main course of pot pies with fried oven chips and barely cooked peas left little to celebrate when paying premium prices..
Great as always, the halloumi is my favourite meal treat.
