Exceptionally good food and attentive service - many goof vegetarian offerings and a good wine list as well.

Food was well prepared and delicious. Service was quite friendly. We very much enjoyed our visit as a family.

Haven’t been to Helmunds in years but the food was as good as we remember it. We went early on a Sunday night and had the place to ourselves - the new normal with Covid challenges. The wait staff were friendly and helpful. They offered fresh baked bread which was good but not as good as what they bake in the open oven - we were told it’s only used on Friday and Saturday’s. A number of customers came and picked up take out. A nice evening out!

One of our favorite Boston area restaurants. Excellent food and reasonably priced. Try the Kaddo appetizer- outstanding. And even if you’re not a vegetarian, the Vegetarian Special is highly recommended..wonderful plate of perfectly seasoned vegetables.

Delicious food and a very nice setting that is distinctly middle eastern behind inauspicious doors. Food was wonderful especially the vegetarian meals. the venue is very comfortable and quiet. service was attentive.

We were first here years ago and loved the food but never made time to come back. Even after all the years that went by the food is still excellent. The service is attentive and top notch. We felt safe eating here during the pandemic, so don't let that scare you.

The Kaddo is divine. I don't know how they get the pumpkin so tender and sweet. It's like eating custard.

Their pallow rice is exquisite. Light and fluffy and just the right amount of spice. It's subtle but you never forget it's there.

Try the Our Cake for dessert. It's an original dessert highlighting and complimenting all the flavors of the menu.

Have not been here for about 10 years. Went on a Sunday evening. Tables set up to maintain social distancing. Wait staff was very nice and was really trying hard but had some challenges with English and how to do things (white wine was filled to the brim of the glasses and bottle not put on ice). Net result was one entree arriving with an ingredient that was not included in the description and we specifically asked if it was in the dish (and told it was not). Decaf Turkish coffee was also a difficult process as was having Turkish coffee with sugar. Despite that, the evening was fun and the food delicious.

Food wasn’t fresh. We were very disappointed as we were expecting a delicious dinner based on the reviews. Maybe pandemic affected their ability to get quality produce and cooking process. To be fair our Polish waiter was wonderful. Sadly we Won’t be back.

After being away from The Helmand for eight years while we lived elsewhere, it was so wonderful to be back. Every bite was full of flavor, the servers were kind, and the atmosphere cozy. We miss it being bustling and truly hope that they can stay afloat during these COVID times.

Very nice quiet place with delicious Afghanistan cuisine. Lamb was very good.

Helmand is one of my favorite restaurants and it never disappoints. The chopawn was absolutely delicious just like everything else. The only recommendation I would make is to make the meat in Qabili Palaw more tender.

Very enjoyable meal, a great place for dinner, big or small.

Overall the food was flavorful; however, our experience was very much jaded by our waiter. He got one of the drinks wrong and served us an entree that was not ordered. He said he mixed it up. Just to make it worse, he delivered us the wrong table's bill. Ugggh. 3 huge mistakes with just an apology and not trying to make up for it. We unfortunately, would not be able to return.

A bit dark (hard to see food), and it would be nice if it were a bit quieter.

This is a nice restaurant where I’ve dined before, but last night’s experience wasn’t great.

The table they gave us was awful. It was at the edge of the restaurant in a drafty area looking onto a waiter station and a bare concrete floor. We were right on top of other diners on one side and my arm banged into a wall on the other side.

This is the first time I have not thought the food was excellent. My appetizer was watery, and my entree lacked it usual flavor. Disappointing, I’ve never had a bad meal there.

The food was excellent. The waiter was very polite and helpful. But he was not available enough and we had to keep waiting for water, the next course etc. as he had tables in the front and back to tend. We were at the back so nice and quiet as we started dinner but a little tight as that section filled up too. They need more wait staff for the value.

This is my 3rd time visiting this restaurant. The quality has been very consistent (and very good). Highly recommended.

We received a warm greeting upon arrival. Our server was at our table immediately, and the food was prepared as described.
We hadn't been there for at least 20 years and were pleased to see it remains just as pleasant a dining experience as it was all those years ago.

Food was good but nothing special.

Food was incredible, service was outstanding - appetizers served within about 5 minutes of ordering! Everything was delicious - a perfect Valentine's Day dinner!

I had a great dinner with our server Ahmed! I ordered three appetizers and they are all of them fantastic. They also serves a complimentary which made our dinner more interesting and rich. I wanted to have dessert but after ate all of them, I was stuffed and did not make it. Definitely, I'll come back and have dessert as well!

P.S. Music was boring, but it's a simple thing to just ignore it.
