The Hero Ranch Kitchen
The ambiance was fine but due to restrictions we had to sit outside and it was cold! Nothing they could have done and they were very accommodating. Love the restaurant!
As always everything was over the top, especially the food and service. I was actually expecting there to be empty tables considering the Corona Virus situation but it was as packed as always. Took me 3 weeks to get this reservation and nothing has slowed down. What a gem of an addition to Saratoga!
Amazing food & service was wonderful! Only downside, the high noise level - we were by the back where silverware being cleaned or put away.
Great food, awesome service and cool ambiance! Took my daughter and her boyfriend their for her 23rd bday. It was their first time dining there and they also loved everything about this place. We’ll be back and I know they will be, too!
Unique dishes with exceptional flavors.
First time and I’d happily return. Then sort of place that you could see yourself becoming a regular. Started with two of the house cocktails, both delicious. Took here sharing plates including he special of octopus carpaccio. Wow, that was delicious and amazing. Mexican street corner and carnitas lettuce cups were great. Accompanied with two glasses of the Pinot from the restaurants vineyard in the Almaden valley. Even had dessert, the berry cobbler. Friendly, Professional, down earth service, great food, nice atmosphere. We sat inside but plenty of outdoor seating with heaters
We went for a couple date night and to celebrate two birthdays. It was good all around. Best spicy tuna I have ever had.
Great tomohock steak I have had. The butter cake was very good. Service was good.
Our first time at this restaurant. Cannot wait to return.
Although we had poor service our food was very good as in the past. I was very disappointed in the service as we brought first time guest with us. I called and spoke with the manager the next day. He was very nice and accommodating and invited us back with our guest. He (Ron) went out of his way to make things right. Very good manager!
Birthday-thanks for the birthday cake.
The entire dining experience from beginning to the end was fabulous. Wonderful service, delicious and creative food and cocktails, we will certainly be coming back again!
First time visit. Alex, our server made a few suggestions that were great and paced all of our small plates nicely so that we could enjoy a couple of things at a time. The Mexican corn was a hit as were the French fries and the ahi tower. The carnitas cups presentation was great but could have used more spice or a chipotle aioli or fried jalapeño slices, for instance, in my opinion to make them a little more special. We got a sriracha sauce that helped nicely. To top it off the wine is so reasonably priced you don’t need to bring your own wine and they don’t charge a corkage fee if you choose to! Such a welcome respite here in the valley. 5 small plates, 2 cocktails, a bottle of wine with tip for under $200! Oh, and a dessert...butter cake was worth the calories!
Loved everything about this place! I will come back for sure!
Family birthday party
So loud... impossible to have a relaxed conversation. Music ridiculously loud. Sat crowded into a corner to be able to try to hear.
Need Gf knowledge of the menu. Lots of back and forth with the kitchen.
Beet salad - great, but a joke. Four ultra thin slices of beets.
Fish - great. Dessert, great. Wine, great.
Hero - letters too small. Ranch, by comparison, letters too large. Sign is all one color, so hard to see from car.
The cuisine was fantastic and the cocktails cold and frothy! The service was a bit slow-my only knock. The bar service was slow and all I could think about were all of the drinks they could be selling.
Great flavors, great ambiance. Definitely a go to place in the South Bay!
Just love this place. The food is delicious and you can choose from small share plates or larger entrees. Also love that they have virtually no markup on their bottles of wine and there is a great selection. We had a bottle of Duckhorn Merlot for $50 which is a world class wine at an fantastic price. Just wish it was easier to get in there. Need to plan ahead.
Always an amazing meal.
Great food, amazing wine prices, awesome service. This was my second time there and they did not disappoint either visit.
We had a fabulous experience. The restaurant was backed up and we were seated late. We saw the manager serving wine to other guests who were waiting, but missed us. A few minutes after we were seated, the manager came to apologize for our wait, which would have been nice enough. He sent out three desserts at the end of our meal, which was above and beyond. This is a restaurant which is completely aware of the goings on in the front of the house, and lets their guests know that they are appreciated.
The food was great, and completely worth the wait. Fried chicken sliders, truffle fries, salad with burrito...Three of us finished all of that, in addition to our entrees. Husband was rationing the lasagne so he could have leftovers, daughter devoured her entire plate of ribs (and laid down in the backseat for the ride home - saying she would do it all over again), and I attacked my halibut (winning the clean plate award). I could have the halibut everyday.
The service was spot on - helpful and informative, and completely non intrusive. It certainly added to the great experience.
And get the butter cake, even if it’s not being sent out gratis.
Thank you for a special night got our family.
Food was delicious, prices of most wine was reasonable and service at our table was great. We observed all other servers were also attentive and busy at their tables. Seems a very popular place. We thought a Sunday dinner would be a good time to eat and enjoy the evening...avoiding Friday & Saturday night crowds. We were wrong. It was packed at 5:45 and the noise level inside made it hard to carry a conversation. Tables packed in also made it difficult to shift ones chair without knocking against another’s chair.
Was there to celebrate my wife’s birthday
Just one word: EXCEPTIONAL !
Wonderful food, great service, friendly ambiance.
For our dinner we enjoyed wagyu and halibut. Just amazing !
Their wine list is great and very moderately priced. And they don't have a corkage fee ! So, bring your own wine, or drink some from their excellent and reasonably-priced wine list.
It's quite a find...
Another really lovely dinner at this terrific restaurant. Reasonably priced wines, delicious food and cheerful, gracious wAit staff. We shared starters: grilled octopus (succulent and tender) and spicy chicken mini-tacos... delish. Both guys had the memorable pork chop (a must if you haven’t done so yet), I had the veggie (mushroom and asparagus) risotto of brown crunchy rice (fabulous) and my friend has Zoodles Bolognese. All completely yummy! The crowning glory to this lovely meal was a 3 scoop ice cream confection which we shared... crunchy cookie underneath, some chocolate flourishes on top... divine!
You will not be disappointed when going to this restaurant. Everything on the menu taste perfect. I’ve been here several times and I like that they do not overprice the drinks to encourage you to spend your money on the excellent food
We were seated outdoors and the ambience was perfect for our date. The noise levels were very low and the heat lamps kept us cozy. Adam took great care of us and the food exceeded our expectations. There were many gluten free options available which is always helpful as we both can’t tolerate gluten. This was our first visit, we will definitely be back. Insider tip: the chef is opening a new restaurant next door. The details appear to be somewhat secret. Can’t wait to check it out!
wonderful menu, great place tp have dinner, staff very efficient and friendly
Good Food, Excellent Staff, Nice Ambience, Convenient Location, Slightly Cramped, Would Recommend, Excellent Value.
Can bring your own wine, food good, yellowtail carpaccio very good, steak with truffle very good
Nice place, outdoor seating with lamps. Will return. Dont go without reservation. Busy
Food is so good. I want to eat there everyday.
great variety on the menu
We really enjoyed the restaurant. Our server
Thomas was excellent and really made every effort to make sure we had a great experience. Recommend the wine list
great food and service; the pork chop was to die for...
Food was excellent, would recommend.
Enjoyed our dinner very much, food is delicious from appetizers to main course, servers are fun and friendly, we’ll be coming back for sure.😊
Fantastic food, got the corn, beet salad, wedge salad, pork chop, and the black angus filet. Everything was cooked perfectly. And no corkage fee which is awesome.
The chef made plates with combinations of flavors that made me wonder how good things can taste if made right.
Our waiter and food was great! Few suggestions... The music was really bad for the setting, especially on Valentines day. The heaters outside didn't help too much. But the food was amazing and the chocolate strawberries were so appreciated!!!
We came on Valentines Day and enjoyed our food, our complimentary chocolate dipped strawberries, and our server.
We split the ahi tower, lamb chopped, and split the steak and lobster, and the bread pudding. Yummy!
Love having this place in my own city 😊
