Delicious food and excellent service! Highly recommended

We chose this place again for their amazing carrot cake. We got a fireplace seat and it was a wonderful atmosphere. Quick service. Great food. Hands down, will be back again.

All was just Ok and not as good as the past experiences. There are so many places in. Carmel and sadly this one despite its charming setting is falling away from the standard. We will go elsewhere now. Food was Ok, portions a little small, prices are not justified as they are the same as better places. I guess tourists will keep this place alive. Sad we enjoyed it in the past.

The 1st time we have traveled since the Pandemic, so we decided to go to Carmel. It was the beat meal we have had in Carmel. The food was outstanding. The staff was very good and very attentive!

Someone totally dropped the ball. We got there about 10 minutes before our reservation only to have the staff tell us they were closed.

If you love Denny's, you will love this place! Nothing special: although the patio is very nice with all the fireplaces. Too bad the bar/food/service is just meh.

Loved getting back to dinner at Hog's Breath. Their are many out door heating sources and it had busy vibe. Food was delicious. Service was slow to start but it came around.

This is not a review of Hogs Breath, but a review of Open Table.
I came into Carmel Ca for my girlfriends birthday. Wanted to give her a special weekend and wanted to have a nice dinner at a decent restaurant. I was directed to Open Table where they reserved a table for us at 6:00 pm on a Friday night. We got to the restaurant at 5:45 and walked up to see a sign stating that Hogs Breath is closed due to Covid. Come to find out that all restaurants in Carmel were shut down and some had take out service only. I think that an application like Open Table would be up to date on any restaurant being available to make a reservation with. They also took my credit card number in top of it and I am holding my breathe to see some weird charge on my card for not being able to keep my reservations since restaurant was closed.
We had a great weekend in spite of the crappy service from Open Table and I would encourage anyone to not use their bs services now or in the future!!

You booked our reservation but the restaurant was not even open. Seems like you should know this. We love the restaurant but don't like OpenTable very much. You ruined our occasion.

The Hog's Breath Inn is a classic Carmel spot that I've been to on many occasions. We've used it as a special treat location. We arrived early and there were lots of people standing online, masked, and keeping social distancing. The hostess was gracious and poised during a busy time. We were seated at a lovely fireplace table in the outside courtyard. Our waiter took our drinks order while we checked out the menu. One drink arrived promptly. Even after the meals were delivered we still did not have the second drink and had to ask the waiter again. He came back with something other than what was ordered. The salmon and ribeye came out hot and with generous portions. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and the meal, overall, was. very tasty. Our waiter was just so-so. With our online reservation I had noted that it was a special birthday event and it went unacknowledged, even when I tried to prompt him twice. He then left us with our bill and disappeared. We waited 15 minutes to pay our bill, finally hailing another waitperson to come collect the check and handle the payment. Anyone can enjoy The Hog's Breath Inn for a good meal, and I believe service would be better at non-peak times. I.wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for attention to details for a special event.

Everything was very nice. First meal out since the Covid outbreak. It seemed a bit crowded, but I don’t know the protocols out there. The food would’ve gotten five stars, but honestly, the sauce On the Sandabs was a little thick.

Was very disappointed-the food was just ok-wish I had researched someplace else in Carmel-tha waiter could not understand how we wanted a Cadillac margarita-and we ordered 3 and specifically told him how to do it on the last one-he still did not do it right-not worth $320.00
