The Huron Club
Nice ambiance. Great love music. Food was yum. Recommend
We arrived at the restaurant and they tried to seat us in an overflow room called the sunroom. I explained that I had made reservations a while ago for the bar area, high too seating. I confirmed with my app. In my phone. They told me that they had the reservation but not the specifics On the computer.
After a lengthy discussion three time’s and then waiting in the sunroom, they managed to give us a table as requested. If not for my husbands persistence, I am not sure we would have gotten our requested table.
After this issue m, all was fine.
We had the shrimp tacos, lamb shank and OG Nashville chicken. Each dish had parts that were good and parts that were just mediocre. There was a live band on Saturday night which was fun. Service was good. Overall a good place to dine.
Awesome atmosphere. Great food. Good time. Definitely going back. Highly recommended
My friend and I had a wonderful meal at the Huron Club ...the service was friendly and prompt, and the food was delicious and nicely presented.
Already have recommended to friends. Being seniors we especially appreciate the free corkage night.
We have been to the Huron Club a few times and always enjoyed our meal. The staff is great! There was a live band that started playing at 8PM on Saturday; if that's your thing you would love it. If you want to have a conversation with anyone at your table with the live band playing - good luck! It was loud...
Hi Steve, thanks for the feedback ! Yes Saturday's band was a special event and being a larger band it was towards the loud side. We do keep the volume down until after dinner service, and our regularly scheduled performers cater to more of the lounge atmosphere. We hope to see you again and experience another great night of music and enjoyment !
Fun atmosphere, great band. Food and service was just OK.
This was our first time at the Huron Club. We had reviewed the online menu and had decided that was what we were looking for to bring our very close friends from Toronto to enjoy. Alas, we were very DISAPPOINTED, the items listed online were not available ( i.e. Steak, Trout, etc.|). The online listing should say its really a sports bar. Very noisy, burgers and fish and chips, deep fried entrees, etc.
Our friends were not impressed, the question from them was " Is this the BEST Collingwood Restaurant". A very negative comment --- which says it all. Please update your online menu and information.
Hi John, I do apologize for your experience at The Huron Club. We do cater to the Gastropub market with our menu and atmosphere. Our upscale pub food made fresh daily in house, live music on the weekends and a casual cocktail lounge make us one of the most highly reviewed restaurants in town. We hope you will give us another try, and feel free to introduce yourself !
We realize it was the evening of the local Santa Claus Parade and the restaurant was full. But all the hard surfaces, made the sound level very high. WE could hardly hear each other...I feel for the employees.
Only gripe was the chicken burger I ordered was not very good. The amount of bread was ridiculous and the double decker burger had no flavour apart from spicy hot.
The food was delicious, Tony was kind and attentive and the ambiance was great! The Huron Burger was tasty and filling! A must try for sure! Great value!
I MAY recommend the Huron Club but would caution regarding the quality of some of the entrees, particularly the Macaroni entree.
The Caesar Salad with Chicken was delicious. Not sure who the lunch time chef on Friday November !st was...But whoever it was made it was the best I have ever had there. Just enough shaved parmesan cheese and not over amount of dressing. Kudos to you!
Waiters should always offer ground pepper when serving items.
Great ambiance at this restaurant. Because it is located in an old house it can be cozy. Love the candles at each table, even in the bar area.
Was wondering if the fireplaces could have even an electric flame. They are stunning and I have never seen them lit. Perhaps gas would be too hot but even electric could work. This would be a huge draw I think because there is no restaurant in Collingwood I know of that has one. You have to go all the way to the Blue Mountain Village for that. As winter approaches I would always pick a restaurant with a visual FP even if it does not throw out a lot of heat...
This restaurant can be noisy, esp. when it is full. I wonder if something could be done about the acoustics.
The food was good, beer was cold, the server was personable and efficient and the restaurant was clean and inviting. What more could you ask for! I recommend to anyone looking for a great place to eat or drink.
Large portions, great price, quaint seating, awesome band
Delicious food and good value! Only criticism was that we felt a little rushed...on the flip side drinks and each course of food came very promptly so we weren't left waiting despite it being a busy night.
Delicious BBQ plates ! Love the new menu.
Excellent Burger and Brisket tacos were amazing! Would go back.
Food and service was great. Came from out of town for a ladies weekend and decided to eat here. Very good choice! Definitely recommend.
Consistently great and never routine. This is becoming our go-to restaurant in Collingwood. Very nice owner (Tony) and great staff!
There used to be a separation between the bar and the restaurant which is now gone. It is very loud when trying to have a conversation in the restaurant. Also the food used to be higher quality.
Sept.30 was very busy. Seemed to be understaffed. Long wait and food was just OK! Lots of people like to go there after the Cinema Club.
Food was great, staff were always there to help us out. Live music was so much fun, not overly loud as we were not directly in the bar side. The Gin Basil Cucumber Smash they make is delicious!! Definitely would recommend
Our meals, service & ambience was all very good. Husband & friends ordered the ribs & the special for evening the brisket, I had the burger with side salad. The owner visited as many tables as time would permit, which is always nice.
Right now I/we like the Huron Club better then the Beaver & Bulldog‼️👍
My friends and I enjoyed are night at The Huron Club. The food was delicious and the setting was peaceful and elegant. We will definitely come back again.
Decent menu and ambiance. Server was great. I had an awesome Cobb Salad I highly recommend.
Restaurant itself is very nice. Food prepared well. The menu choices overall were not to my liking and not as upscale as the setting. Had the blackened Tuna wife had fish and chips.
We enjoyed our dinner immensely! Second time with the new menu! 5 star!
The background music was excellent. The wine and food selections very good indeed.
It was a lovely experience.
Nice patio for a summer night and great to bring your own wine on a Wednesday.
This was a good experience, we enjoyed our food...service was good and we appreciated the professional way a slight problem was handled. We would return..a comfortable, welcoming restaurant!
We have travelled several countries and the calamari at Huron is one of the best. Both our meals were worth their value and we certainly return. The staff were pleasant and knowledgeable. Thanks for making for an enjoyable time.
We had made a reservation to make sure we saw the entertainment several weeks ahead of time and I had phone to confirm it the day before and when we arrived they had bumped us to the patio- no view of the band. Because I was persistent we ended up at the table with a view but my friends who did a reservation at the same time ended up in a corner with no view and unable to see the entertainment. Clearly they have to improve their reservation system and respecting clients that take the time to make reservations.
Thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant Leslie. We are so glad to have been able to rectify your reservation for the evening and that you were able to enjoy the band on such a busy Wednesday night.
Disappointed with the food. Expected better for the price. Although the coconut cream pie tarts were the highlight of the meal. Our server on this occasion was wonderful-very friendly and engaging. Have also been to lunch at the restaurant recently and also disappointed with the food., but more so with the service. My friend asked for honey with her tea and was told that you were out - Loblaws is a mere 3 minute walk from the restaurant. She brought be the wrong tea. I asked for Earl Grey and she brought me camomile. Our server at lunch was very cold and indifferent. Will not be recommending the restaurant.
Thank you for your feedback, we are glad you had a nice experience this week. It is unfortunate to have lost your business. Tea with honey is not a popular item in the summer months and honey crystallizes very quickly, we will look into adding honey to our summer menu. We appreciate you taking the time in sending your comments, our hope is that if you're unsatisfied with your visit that the server would notify a manager immediately so we may rectify our mistakes.
Selection bad! Menu was lacking in variety . Not impressed with the choices. More like pub food. Fish tacos, fish and chips, hamburger???
Thank you for the feedback John, moving forward we will look into ensuring that our guests are aware that The Huron Club is a Gastropub and as such offers a variety of Pub style food.
your servings are large and a half sandwich and soup or salad at a reasonable price would be good
Great spot for lunch. Great atmosphere and the service was bang on. Food was enjoyed by all. Generous portion and well presented.
Excellent experience overall - new management has done a great job raising the bar for quality of food and overall value. They also had a singer/guitar player who was outstanding!
