The Ivy Cobham Brasserie
Lovely meal, great surroundings, friendly attentive staff
We had a very enjoyable Evening Meal at the Ivy to celebrate our 37th Wedding Anniversary. The Food was excellent with a varied selection to choose from.
Enjoyed the evening just think they have crammed too many tables in we were all practically touching elbows with other diners ! Nice decor tho
Nice ambience and quick service however food was tasteless. Presentation was good.
Good food, good quality consistently good. Never lets me down!
We had a wonderful meal as always, only spoilt by the fact that the staff were not wearing face masks. Now I know it’s not a legal requirement any longer but this totally took us by surprise. As an establishment of your high reputation we did not question that you would not have followed a self-responsible approach and have carried on in this easy and basic safe covid way. What we then realised was that your customers were entering the restaurant wearing masks, obviously assuming this was something to be carried on with, only to see your staff weren’t and therefore losing some sense and following their lead.
We had late breakfast outside a lovely table and great setting. Service and food excellent
All round superb experience : Food, service and atmosphere. Definitely recommend
Amazing! Love this place!!
Always lovely and staff member Anna was so lovely!!
Very satisfied with the food and services! Had a great time
First class venue. Very good menu. Pleasant setting and very good service
Great lunch to celebrate a 16th Birthday. Our party of 6 all thought the food was fantastic. Staff were very friendly an brought out a celebratory dessert for the birthday girl.
We were celebrating my husband's birthday and went for lunch. Delicious food as always - staff very friendly, totally professional and efficient. The service is excellent! also a very nice little surprise profiterole with a Happy Birthday message on it delivered to the table - discreetly too - nice as my husband is easily embarrassed!
We think the Ivy is great for all occasions - but esepcially for a bit of a treat.
We were served by Lola, who was extremely helpful, polite and efficient.
Food was lovely, setting was lovely exactly what my daughter had wished for to celebrate her 18th birthday.
Lovely cool spacious interior. Good selection of choices but some mains are on the small side so choose wisely, but all delicious.
We attended the Ivy for my fiancée's birthday. First let me say that the Ivy is beautiful and the atmosphere is amazing! The food was phenomenal and my Fiancée and I had a wonderful evening there. Overall we felt the food was worth the price and we will return again.
When ordering drinks I asked the waiter if they had any IPAs and the respons I had was very odd. Their words were along the lines of "Im sorry but unfortunately we don't do/ have IPAs in here" which is fine - I'm not complaining about the fact there was no IPAs. But it was the way they looked at me, the way they smirked and their tone as they said it.
It came across as "Oh we don't do that here, this is not the sort of place for that, if you want that go somewhere else." Anyways I said that's fine and that I'll just have a pint of larger from a particular brand they sold.
That was until they said "Sorry but we don't do pints, we only sell by the bottle." At this point I was thinking "For god's sake, I don't care if you don't have the beer I like, nor if it's in a pint glass, a bottle or if you just pore it into one of the vases you have laying around, I just want a drink..."
Lastly, I did tell the restaurant before hand that this was for a special occasion and I know they don't have to do anything, I know it's not written down in the restaurant Bibel or anything "Thou shall present a small free gift on a special occasion!"
But I was expecting something because it was my fiance's birthday, I did tell them and we never got anything. I mean at least Frankie & Benny's would have sang me a song... If you're spending more than £100 on two people for one meal for a birthday you kind of expect something - not necessarily a physical free item like cake, but even if it's just happy birthday or congratulations. Maybe I am stepping out of line on this one...
Overall though WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone looking for a cosy night dining out!
This was a special occasion and we were delighted with the food and service
The staff were super lovely and friendly. We got our food quickly and it was great quality. The restaurant itself is beautiful and I really enjoyed the evening.
A lovely experience as usual, what more can I say?
Lovely service as always. We are regular diners here. For some reason the food wasn't as nice as usual... presentation was poor on desserts eg: strawberry sundae..and chocolate bombe is normally a fancy production...not this night..felt like it was rushed from the kitchen without much care....4 weeks ago it was fabulous and the fish was very average. Somehow it lacked it's usual sparkle. We were sat next to very young children in the garden one of whom cried alot....clearly very tired. Not our idea of a peaceful, celebratory dinner for my family. I like that families are welcome but you pay more than a regular restaurant to eat at The Ivy and we didn't want to hear crying children- maybe cap children at no under 10's in the evening . Other diners found it noisy and disturbing too....we have all had little children but we would take them at a more appropriate time so as not to ruin other diners evenings.
Disappointing. Perhaps we could have been offered a different table? We know the staff were aware of the noise.
AMAZING FOOD ,THE STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND A VERY GOOD SERVICES.THE AMBIENT LOVELY AND THE TEMPERATURE INSIDE JUST COMFORTABLE.
Another relaxing and enjoyable evening. Staff always so very friendly and attentive. The grilled chicken and crispy duck salads were delicious.
The only reason I didn’t give top marks Is that the zucchini fritti were slightly under and floury in taste. I’ve had them before in the ivy in Wimbledon and know they can taste much better!
The ambiance was good and the table was comfortable.
A good choice of food and well presented.
Service was efficient and friendly.
Overall it was an enjoyable occasion.
As ever we throughly enjoyed our lunch at The Ivy Cobham .. have never had poor service or food . Ambience was perfect .. nice a cool on a boiling hot day and not noisy .
All the staff stand out as above average and certainly adds to the enjoyment
Beverley and Barry Johnson
Excellent breakfast as ever lovely to sit outside too
Lovely evening - perfect for a celebration. The fishcake was particularly yummy
Lovely cocktails. Afternoon tea was a nice treat. Nicely presented. I would have liked more sandwiches (two fingers and a roll) and less puddings but I guess that’s personal choice. The scones were yummy. I’d try the daytime menu next time.
Menu was tired and old
Actual menu was curled up at edges.
Ivy need some freshening up quickly
Excellent waiter and waitress saved the day in terms of care, style
All very good, cant say more than that this time
This was a great experience for all the family. Highly recommend this quality restaurant.
The service was ok but 4 times we were interrupted by the same waitress bringing us drinks for other tables. I then had cold water spilt on me, which got a very delayed apology. And the food was underwhelming to say the least. Won’t be returning any time soon.
I’m in early stages of pregnancy and attended the restaurant with my husband to celebrate our 5th year anniversary. From the start when asked by the waiter about any special requirements I asked that that my food was throughly cooked (I had a prawn/squid starter and monk fish/prawn curry as my main). This of course he said went without saying. Ok. My husband ordered a burger as his meal and after cutting it in half he realised that the burger was looking a bit “rare”. He championed through the first half not wanting to complain but couldn’t stomach the second half. After I had a look at it myself…. The burger was definitely RAW! The rice that I had with my curry was also half cooked - edible but had a slight gravely taste. The waiter was of course apologetic and removed the burger from our bill.
This however could have gone very wrong for the Ivy (as I mentioned, I’m pregnant) and I definitely should not be eating raw food. Considering that all of the rest of the food was only part cooked, I can only pray that my seafood dish was throughly cooked!
This seemingly was the theme of the night as I over heard the waiter apologising and removing items from other patrons bills. We made little fuss, but vowed never to return.
Great evening, excellent service!
Food was delicious.
Really superb meal! Had an amazing evening. Was a friends birthday and had a little candle in a cake for her which was such a lovely touch! Not sure if I can use this to recognise staff but we were served by Lucy and was amazing service constantly making sure we were okay and topping up our drinks. Amazing night!
We like going to the Ivy in Cobham but this time we were a little disappointed with the menu. The dishes listed were more like something you would find in a good pub.
Lovely ambiance. Beautifully presented afternoon tea. Excellent service.
Great service and food
We had a v enjoyable experience overall. Staff friendly, responsive and helpful.
