The Ivy Dawson Street
Have been to a few of the Ivy and must say this is the best one! Thank you
Best scallops I've ever tasted. Such a treat to find in Dublin! Will definitely come back.
We were very happy overall as we were celebrating a birthday the restaurant did a lovely little dessert.. nice touch! Food was delicious n helpful pleasant staff. Well done !
Dissappointed in the whole experience, staff weren't v attentive and food wasn't that great tbh
Some of the best staff I have ever come across. Exceptionally friendly and helpful. Menu is delicious and atmosphere is 👌🏼
Everything was just fabulous. Only thing was my friend had the eggs breakfast with the ham,i think the Benedict, anyway it was just a little dry. Other than that we had a gorgeous morning/afternoon.
Lovely brunch, great table and nice atmosphere
100% recommend a night in the Ivy, from start to finish we’re all very happy. Our server Leo made the night with an amazing balance of professionalism and fun.
The food was incredible and amazing value for money.
I Look forward to our next evening in the Ivy.
Celebrating daughter’s excellent Junior Cert results
Consistently reliable for good food, buzzy atmosphere, great staff. Stunning decor.
This was my second visit to the Ivy, my first experience was in March, we had a lovely experience so I decided to book it for my boyfriends birthday.
we were seated on time for 8pm, however we were left with our menus for 15 minutes before we were asked if we wanted to order drinks or food.
We then ordered all at once, it took a further 5-10minutes for our wine to arrive, food came out rather quick. It was my boyfriends 30th birthday I would have been much more content and happy if we were attended to professionally.
The table who sat down after us were attended to first also which was frustrating by the same waitress. We had to stop the waitress on her way to somewhere to ask if we can order, I wouldn’t have expected this in any restaurant, never mind The Ivy.
Excellent. Loved the duck starter salad and the minute steak for mains.
As much as myself and my partner enjoyed the night, it was absolutely not worth the price. In addition the started of bread with salted butter was basically salt with a bit of butter, the strength of the salt was breath taking. We also had to specifically request red wine glasses for the red wine after it was poured into what I had assumed were the water glasses. The high price does not warrant the food or service.
Food was good, service once we were seated was very good.
They have a 15 minute grace period before they can cancel you. We arrived 10 minutes early and waited 45 minutes to be seated. We asked twice with no progress. On the third attempt we were seated.
It felt like the hostesses forgot us once we were at the bar
Myself my mam and my sister in law spent a lovely afternoon at the Ivy for my mams 60th birthday lunch. I had requested a little fuss made of her for the occasion and she was presented with a lovely little cake at the end of our meal which was really nice. The food was delicious and the place is just amazing. We will definitely be back thank you.
Very disappointed with this visit. Overall staff v unfriendly. Not as previous visits
Very enjoyable experience . Lovely staff and tasty food in a very attractive setting .
Its always more about the place than the food at the Ivy but normally the food is fine.
One of or party's chicken milanese was pink in the centre and she mentioned it to the head waiter serving us. He took it away without any apology and returned to say they were cooking another and that the chef had said that that wag the 'blood line in the chicken!!!
She told him she couldn't look at another chicken and not to bring it an I saw it- it WAS pink in the centre!
It was only when the lovely table waitress asked if everything was ok and I told her of the chicken disaster that she had it removed from the table and were received a complimentary wine.
Then the question- will the waitress get our tip? was ignored by the head waiter.
Unpleasant stuff having been there a few times
We enjoyed our brunch at the Ivy! Food was great although it took about 25 minutes for it to arrived. Service was also great however once it gets busy, you may have to wait until someone comes to you. Drinks were fab and the servers were very friendly!
Such a great experience. Excellent service. Food came on tome and was amazing. Venue a bit loud but was manageable.
Not enough variety on beers. Service very slow and not value for money. Fillet steak with some garnish... looked poor and not filling. Wouldn’t go back because of the above.
Excellent food and service. Look forward to visiting again
Enjoyable experience as usual!
Generally poor service. A table booked for 19.30 several days in advance, was not available until 19.55. We were shown to bar to wait but service there was virtually non-existent despite being well staffed.
Delays between courses of meal were lengthy and request for the wine list also met with a long delay.
Food wasn’t great, crab linguine very dry , not pleasant to eat. Tempura prawn and calamari bit hot and greasy ++. The excellent waiter made the evening pleasant
Service very slow & table not ready till half 7 booking was made for 7. Also miss the orzo pasta from the menu.
Overpriced mediocre food. Disruptive service, not appreciating the fact we were trying to have a private conversation. Extremely rude and crass when it came to paying the bill, looking for a tip, we were all shocked and never going back there again.
The food was fab . The service was great and the decor was beautiful. Lovely for our special night out
Lovely venue with excellent food however service is disgraceful. Upon asking the waitor about the special my girlfriend was no pleased to receive a herb covered lamb shank which the waitor rudley assured us was just plain. During the course of the night I had to nearly jump out of my seat to get our waitors attention. Twice having to ask for water refills, another occasion for a glass of wine and then also he failed to take note of a side of sugar snap please were ordered thus holding up eating our plates. 3 of us in the party ordered steaks and not once did he come by to check if all was cooked our likings. This was a special occasion and was a gift from our mother. We ask would the pot of coffee do two people to which he stormed off lik a bull to check, somehow he thought it would so we we received half a cup off coffee each from his poor judgment. Having thrown the bill in front of our motte the waiter never mentioned the included service charge. Our bill came to 230e and we placed 240 unbeknownst to my mam how paid the service charge was included. The server again didn't even attempt to bring back our ten euro change and for his awful service got a further ten euro tip. Highly disappointed on the service feeling my mother was almost taken advantage of as she does not eat out in such places often. I could of happily recommend this place as the food and venue were amazing however the service was so poor I would not.
The restaurant itself was amazing, the decor and the vibe was lovely. Service when we arrived and ordering our food was quick and waitress was lovely, although we ordered the chicken Milanese and the ivy burger with no cheese as my husband really dislikes cheese. We didn’t wait long for our drinks or food to arrive but when it did there was cheese on the burger. It may seem very trivial but for someone who really dislikes cheese it’s a big deal. To be fair we didn’t complain because we couldn’t be bothered waiting for another meal to be prepared and arrive so he did just scrape the cheese off but it did kind of ruin the meal. Then when we had ate, we waited ages for somebody to take our plates away and to bring us the bill. Overall it’s a nice restaurant, my food was nice and I would go again and hopefully we won’t have any mistakes with the order next time.
Food and drinks were amazing at the Ivy on Tuesday night and the ambiance was just perfect. Our waiter was really helpful and friendly. However, the lady at reception was the complete opposite. I would be reluctant to return because of her rude manner alone. All of my party found her very rude and unhelpful and that definetly put a dampner on our over all experience.
The complimentary birthday cake with candles was a super thoughtful and unexpected touch! Thank you!
The manager was extremely rude! We were there less than 2 hours and we were told to leave, as they needed the table. At this stage we were only handed the desert menus! The restaurant was also half empty! We were not finished our meal! It was crazy how he handed us the bill and basically told us to get out - he said you can go to the bar, but didn’t offer to bring our drinks over or anything!! Not the service you expect, especially from a manager who should be setting a good example to his staff. You don’t talk to customers or handle a situation like that if you need the table. You should have manners and politely ask and explain the situation - not shove the bill in your face and say move to the bar if you want. Very disappointed with his attitude, service and mannerism. We were actually shocked to be honest!
we had a problem with a fish main course but it was dealt with in a proper way , thank you
Late lunch and left at the table for 5 hours...perfect for catching up!
Went for our anniversary. I took the 10pm booking as my wife always wanted to go to the Ivy. Got there for 10pm, we were told there would be a 20 minute wait, it took 35 minutes. We got to eat our starters at 11pm! We ordered an Italian wine, it wasn’t available, chose something else. I ordered lamb for my main course but it came in a bowl, I couldn’t see the carrots, must have been no plates washed, seemed an odd presentation. Anyways, its a nice room, nice lighting, nice atmosphere but it didn’t quite live up to expectation. Don’t think I’ll rush back for my next anniversary.
I had a reservation for 9.45pm for 4 people, we arrived on time to be told our table was not ready. We had to wait until 10.40 to be seated. We did not bother with starters. I ordered a fillet steak, medium to well done , and it came out medium rare, but as it was not 11.40 eating a steak I just couldn't be bothered dealing with the rude staff any more. We left utterly disappointed after a mediocre meal.
The only benefit of having dined in the Ivy last Saturday night is that I know I will never be asked to go there ever again.
It was dirty, disorganised, and dysfunctional to the very end even the bill could not be paid with ease. There were five of us. We had to order the drinks five times to get a drink for everyone......one drink at at a time.
The plates appeared clean but actually had small almost clean remains of old food embedded on them evident when I ran my finger over mine. But the hair my son discovered when he chewed into in his bread bun was so bad. I tried to laugh it off saying he could floss his teeth with the hair.
What an awful venue to celebrate a birthday. I hoped to earn some brownie points with the family for treating them to go to the Ivy......... instead one of them was sitting on the loo for most of the latter part of next day. It was a complete waste of money. Thanks for nothing.
The Ivy in Dublin is an embarrassment and insult to the Ivy in London. No comparison at all.
Food was fab, lovely night the down side was we were waiting 1 hour & 20min for our table! I would still go back.
Awful experience. Was late to be seated which was no problem but then my partners main wasn't ordered. This was realised after my main was brought out which they subsequently took back. Following receiving the bill we realised we were over charged. This was corrected and paid. Mentioned to a member of staff which I thought was a manager that if service charge was automatically being added the service needed to a lot better. This was obviously said to our waiter who subsequently stopped me on the way out to state "why didn't you tell me". Found this to typify the service. I will not be back and will be recommended all to avoid.
