Such a magical place. Nothing like it and such a staple to the Downtown Sacramento.
Great food and service!
One of the owners, who also bartends, made our evening, taking her time to talk to us one-on-one. The cocktail server was very helpful and gluten-free conscious. Check out the extraordinary features of the bar, especially the counter!!
Food was incredible as well. The cocktails were generously poured.
Great food. Really enjoyed their vegan chefs challenge dish for the month of October!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Sacramento Area. It offers unique dishes as well as creative twists on cultural favorites. They work with local providers, focusing on regional as well as seasonal offerings. The craft cocktail menu highlights their creative artistry! The owners and servers are all very genuine, personable and efficient, but one feels "unrushed" to enjoy their dining experience. And the Kasbah Lounge is eco-friendly!
Highly recommended!!
I came for the vegan chef challenge menu items and Kasbah killed it!! The food was delicious, timely and served with a smile. Server was attentive and friendly. It was outside seating only which is pretty nice in early fall but crazy fools were bumpin their stereos very loud. Not kasbah's fault. In between the muscle cars and stereos, there was live guitar which was a really nice touch.
Everything about this place was wonderful-- from the delicious food, friendly service, and pleasant ambience! I'd highly recommend it!
Still one of the best, even during Covid. Food is excellent, staff I wonderful, ambience was safe and lovely.
Everything was fantastic with the food and service. A little pricy for what you get but it's really good. The social distancing leaves a lot to be desired. The seating is fine but people waiting are literally right on top of you, more like 1 foot instead of 6.
WOW! Food was incredible and unique as always, service was great, and COVID protocols were thorough and well thought out. We dined on the patio which was lovely! Try the rose water mousse, you won’t regret it ;)
10/10 excellent food, great service really can’t go wrong.
Delicious food, perfect evening, fantastic service!
The food is always absolutely amazing and the service is very good.
The food was good. The waitress was friendly but service was very slow. We where outside due to Covid and it was a very warm night.
The Harira (lentil soup) is outstanding, especially considering it is vegan.
The food was tasty. A nice change of pace than "typical american" fare.
The dining room was unique as the perimeter of the room was low lounges with 16" tables to be shared with 2 people. Those tables weren't sufficient to hold the plates of food.
Recommendation, if people are coming for a meal, don't sit them around the perimeter with the low tables, put them in a full size table.
In hindsight, I should have asked to be moved.
Nice atmosphere, friendly service, good food. We’d go back.
Good food, good lounge, and acceptable prices. I hope that they play Arabic music.
We made a reservation through open table but the Kasbah was closed on the date of our reservation date. Open table accepted our reservation but the restaurant was closed. not sure who was at fault Open table or the restaurant but it was disappointing to say the least. We were all excited about trying an new restaurant. Luckily Tapa the World was right next to Kasbah and we were able to eat there.
Loved this restaurant and the vegan options! Service was a little slow and inconsistent but it appeared there was only a couple people working and very busy. Will try again.
The food was very good. I liked the lamb kabob a lot. I also had a caipirinha which was great. The only issue we had was with the noise. It was very loud!
Great for lunch - service and food were excellent !
We were fortunate enough to be seated on the cushions along the side. It took me back to my experience overnight in a Berber tent in Morocco. It was really nice and my husband and I enjoyed it. BUT, this would not have been good for more than two people or if you had a ton of food delivered at once.
Service was a bit slow at first, they seemed to be under-staffed, but we weren't in a hurry, so it was no big deal to us. We ordered the mezza platter first. It took awhile to come out, but it was well worth the wait. We then ordered a grilled flatbread and chicken kabob. Again, they took a bit, but OMG - delicious! The flatbread came out first. It was loaded with meat and grilled onions. I could have done with a bit more spinach, but I enjoyed it immensely. A few minutes after we finished it, the kabob came out. The chicken was seriously some of the moistest chicken I have ever had. It was really good! We then ordered dessert - the baklava was okay, but not my favorite in the Sacramento-area.
Also, they have a belly-dancer. If you are into being entertained while you eat, that could be for you. For me - I hated it. She was lovely and quite a good dancer, but I do not like to be entertained by musicians or dancers while I eat, so I found it annoying.
Would definitely go again, but only if I can sit on the cushions. The tables are stuck in the middle and just didn't appeal to me.
Service was a bit casual and haphazard; for example, main course came out of kitchen before purported appetizer. However, food was delicious.
We had a wonderful experience for valentines day.
Their optional vegan menu is extensive and delicious. We started with their “Now and Then” cocktail, light, delicate and beautiful. Next, we shared their Mezza platter-Lovely presentation, and their hummus, baba ghanouj, and tabouleh were perfect! We then had the Vegan Shushbarak-house made dumplings in an amazing tahini broth, then ended the evening with Turkish coffee and heavenly baklava. This was our first time at this restaurant, and we’re already making arrangements to go back! 😋
Service was slow but food was good
Wonderful!
Perfect for large groups, the drinks were amazing the food came out quickly and our server was experienced and lovely.
Stone of the best Mediterranean in the area.
The best vegan food I’ve been able to find in Sacramento!!
We love the unusual atmosphere, especially lounging on the divan, and the yummy vegan options.
My wife and I have been there three times. Each time was excellent. There isn’t a better meal in Sacramento
No belly dancing. Dirty. Food was ok. They asked during the reservation process if it was for a birthday, which it was, however, no mention of it when we arrived. Also, the seating was awkward; we sat with 2 couples facing us while we ate as they sat against the wall. Not pleasant.
Very good food. Middle eastern flavors. Generous portions. Great value.
I arrived early due to Paratransit. I was seated at a table to accommodate my wheelchair. The waitress accidentally spilled ice water over me and the table. It was quickly wiped up, but I was still wet. I ordered hummus and pita bread. It was very good. The pita bread was fresh and warm. My friend arrived. We ordered from the “Dine in Sacramento “ menu. I ordered the Shakriyeh - a tangy yogurt broth from sheep’s milk made with meatballs, chickpeas, and toasted almonds. Topped with herbs. For my entree grilled and marinated lamb chops drizzled with a pomegranate honey served with lamb and beef rice “stuffing” and Lebanese yogurt. Dessert consisted of a Almond Brioche - almond, honey & orange blossom in phyllo pastry. The restaurant looks like it had been refurbished and they have an outside area for those who enjoy a hookah smoke. They are a little difficult to find, but they are across from the Tapa the World restaurant.
Very unique food that is prepared very well. Also an excellent drink menu.
took a chance at a new restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised at the flavors and portions of the 3 course meal. Middle eastern flavors with vegan and meat options. We want to go back and try other dishes soon.
Great food and ambience. Loved most dishes with surprising exception of the baklava which was very dry. We brought our own wine which worked for us too
I brought members of my foodie group to enjoy the dine downtown menu. A few started with cocktails and were impressed with the size of the drinks. The soups were full of flavor and filling. The lamb entree was so very tender and the flatbread option was huge. Both desserts were beautifully presented and as tasty as they looked. I particularly like the nut pastry which was like baklava. I was the only member to have eaten here before, but now there are 6 more fans.
We’ve enjoyed coming here for date nights for almost 3 years. The food is great and they have enough options for my partner who is vegan. The person who sat us this time was a bit more abrupt than I prefer but otherwise great service as always.
