Sarah was a fantastic server! Food delicious as always. Thank you!
We were greeted with complimentary champagne as we were celebrating an anniversary. The food was delicious. They did forget to bring out a side dish we ordered, but then it was given on the house. Overall very good experience.
What a great evening with lovely ambience and delicious food. Our waitress was exceptional to top it all off. Highly recommend!
First time dining here and it was so delicious! We came for brunch not expecting much as we always do going into a brunch. The food ended up being better than expected. The staff was super friendly and the ambience was great, felt very retro. I’d love to come back again for dinner!
Food was very good. Cauliflower appetizer is fantastic. Service was uncharacteristically slow.
Wait staff was apologetic and comped our drinks to apologize. Well done.
The service was good. Ambiance lacking for a Saturday night. Food was mediocre at best.
Enjoyed the food and the happy hour prices
Service was great.
It was also a helpful location for us
The burger was phenomenal, highly recommend! Slightly on the louder end.
The food was amazing just as the service! The grilled salmon risotto and crispy pot stickers were mouth watering just looking at it. 20/10 would definitely go back and recommend to anyone and everyone.
A terrific place to go for either a everyday dinner or special occasion. The service was friendly and helpful. I appreciate the atmosphere. Contemporary and high end finishes make the atmosphere welcoming. Appropriate noise level.
Honestly, maybe we hit a weird night for them, or maybe it was because of restaurant week, but the food seemed a bit bland.
The portion sizes were great, and the service was outstanding. The drinks were also very well prepared.
I would recommend this restaurant, but maybe not during Restaurant Week
I was disappointed with my first visit to the Kennison. I went during restaurant week and waited over an hour for my entrée, which wasn’t anything special when it finally did arrive. They have great drinks, which were comped by managements to apologize for the wait, and a nice ambiance, but I won’t be rushing back.
Food was overpriced. $10 for a kids meal? $17 for burrata which was good but only one piece of bread with the burrata on it. Chicken sandwich was terrible. Staff was helpful but sloppy uniforms. Overall disappointed with food and ambiance.
We had a great experience- we sat at the bar and were treated great and had a delicious meal. We went during restaurant week so had a pre-fix meal
My husband and I very much enjoyed dining at Kennison for dinner during our stay at Hotel Lincoln. The food, service, and location are top-notch.
I love the roasted chicken. It is always delicious and they vary the sides so that the dish does not become boring. The pastas are quite good and the burger is also very good. We like the casualness of the restaurant plus the staff is quite helpful with wines and/or any questions about the menu,
Great food and kind service!
I loved the ambiance. The brunch was absolutely delicious, the brunch potatoes were the best I've ever had in the city!
Consistently delivers an all around fantastic experience.
Atmosphere is lacking but food and service was excellent
Very good oyster special. Scallops were great. Soft shortbread-like dessert was a great finish.
Our server was wonderful, perfect balance of fun/energy and checked on us the right amount. The food was excellent and the decor is very chic but not overdone. Highly recommended brunch spot
This place is fabulous! I loved the ambiance and the service was superb. The happy hour was great and both of us loved our entrees! My mom has some (often irritating) strict diet restrictions and not only did they accommodate them, but her meal was still delicious with all the alterations she required! If I lived in Chicago, this would be a regular staple for dining out! Also, the patio looks like it would be phenomenal with some warmer weather.
Food was delicious. Really great service. Only complaint was coffee was not hot enough and a little dark/bitter
The Kennison had a great atmosphere and would recommend to anyone that is visiting the zoo. If the restaurant was in a different neighborhood, we probably wouldn't go back. The food lacked spice and the food was mediocre, but the experience and atmosphere was great. We waited over 30 minutes for our entrees on a non-busy night. The server was amazing and cheerful. The drinks were delicious! Overall, it was a decent place for tourist.
Great food and service. Always consistently good
Great location...squandered. Below average food in a terrific food city, horribly prepared and served glacial slow. A real disappointment. Grilled Salmon and risotto was swimming in a maple syrup pond...overwhelming everything...a soggily mess. Hamburger was way over done and flavorless, bun was not charred it was burned black an ineffable.
All of this was delivered 50+ minutes after ordering. Manager knew this was a bad execution and comped first round of drinks and the burger, but with so many other, better option there is no reason to go to the Kennison.
We made last minute reservations after visiting the Lincoln Park ‘Zoo Lights’ display. They were able to accommodate our party of 8 . The food was good and our waitress was great and was kind enough to allow us separate checks. Many establishments would not be willing to do so for such a large group!
Solid place - drinks were tasty and the food was delicious. Tables are a bit crammed together but overall I was happy with the experience.
The wait staff was extremely attentive. This is one of the few times where I'd give the wait staff a 5+. The food was also good and perfectly prepared. This is definitely a neighborhood gem.
Always great food and excellent service.
Had a delicious brunch - spinach and mushroom omelet with really crispy home fries - yum!
We were at The Kennison for Sunday Brunch. The menu was good, the coffee excellent as was the service.
It was a disappointing experience. The food was generally good but there was a long wait between appetizers and entrées. And the entrées particularly the Steak Frites were not very good and were cold. We sent them back and it came back cold. The fries had been warmed, but not the steak. Very strange. They did take it off the bill. It’s still disappointing. Also we ordered a side but it never showed up until we asked, and was very very late. Also took it off the bill. We have been there before and had good experiences. This was quite disappointing.
The Kennison is my favorite place in Chicago! The best service, food, and cocktails
Located on the first floor of The Lincoln Hotel, the restaurant is very nice with nice decorative design touches. Service, cocktails, and food were all very good. It was an excellent experience.
Very good service, tasty ample portions. Will certainly return.
We dined at The Kennison on Monday, November 4. We were there to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The restaurant really went out of their way to make sure it was a special evening. Additionally the food (appetizers and entrees) and service were really good. Overall an excellent experience. We’ll be back.
The taste and presentation of the items was stellar. Our server, Emily, super as was the host who greeted us when we entered ( in fact, he let us in out of the cold 5 mins before opening). Happy hour drink prices appreciated. Very enjoyable and nice ambiance although we would prefer no music, or at least just soft background music.
I took my husband for his birthday. His steak was rare (he ordered it medium). His fries were cold and soggy. My mussels were extremely fishy I could only eat about 1/4 of them. I'm not sure if they had gone bad. The barrata appetizer was very tasty, but the bread was completely burnt and quite honestly overpriced for the portion size.
For reference, my husband orders steak and frites regularly and I order mussels anywhere that has them on the menu. We are not new to these dishes and unfortunately we rated them the worst we had ever had.
Our server noticed I did not eat the majority of the mussels and she immediately took them off the bill (I did not ask for this) and she also then circled back for specific feedback. I truly appreciated this.
