Lovely pub and delicious food. Shame they were so short staffed so had to turn people away who had not booked which is obviously not good for business.
Make sure you book a table if you want an evening meal and you will be fine.
Nice meal and well looked after. Only spoilt because the car park we had parked in the road and despite there being on double yellow lines or no parking signs we were subjected to abuse from the locals despite apologising and were told we do want your type of people here. My father was brought up in pinn and i come from Sidbury so I thought this was quite offensive.
Excellent covid arrangements, well spaced tables but found food disappointing, no fresh veg in sight, very heavy on pasta and potatoes. Simple pub food not particularly well cooked
Very fresh fish and sensible size portion chips. For me the mixed vegetables were too al dente, and surprised to find potatoes there.
The desserts were of variable size, same price and my sponge pudding was hard for being over pinged. Fresh would be wonderful.
Very welcoming staff. Everywhere spotless.
Lovely Sunday roast and excellent service. Amazing value for money.
The meat was delicious and the vegetables were lovely and very tasty
quite expensive compared to other pubs but the food and service was out of this world
Great menu, lots of choice. Great service. Really good food. Lovely surroundings. Would definitely recommend. The steaks are wonderful!
Nice food well cooked would recommend but you need to book
It was fine nice surroundings in pub but service average
Welcome was good and efficient. Service good food and drinks good.
After a walk from Budleigh it was wonderful to relax and energise again at the kings arms.
The lunch time menu was just right for our party of 4 tastes.....ample on plate, fresh and appealing
Perfect country pub of the 21st Century . Better vibe than most and food was Excellent with a very good choice for Lunch and Dinner. Staff seemed very happy to please .
Food was OK , pub food. Had run out of steak by 7pm! Meat pie (didn’t say what on the menu) had soggy bottom. Desserts were better. Room/terrace was uninspiring. Don’t think we will be back.
Delicious, very fresh food & lovely service. Just what you hope for in a local Devon pub
Very good Sunday roast would recommend fish & chips are good too
Not great service, but we know they were short staffed.
Food was good, weaned a couple if wonky choices
Tatty and tired outside.
Fridges not well stocked with cold wine /prosecco, and we were celebrating.
We were attended to quickly and efficiently when we arrived. The meal was excellent - well presented and tasty. Service was good and we had an enjoyable experience.
Lovely food, prompt service and excellent value. Certainly don't skimp on the portion sizes either.
Service and setting good. Food average, coffees at end very weak and disappointing
The food is standard pub grub and perfectly acceptable and well presented. The disappointment was the wine by the glass. It would be an understatement to say it could strip paint. We tried both the white and the red and they were both as bad as each other. Unfortunately this coloured our view of the whole experience.
Overpriced and over rated.
Presentation was poor
Very average pub food masquerading as restaurant fare is just not acceptable.
The Sunday roast was excellent the burger had a very small portion of chips which was disappointing.
Very pleasant waitress and accommodated us earlier than appointed time. Parking restricted but we managed to get parked. Plenty of outside space which would benefit from tidying. Sandwiches and ploughman’s good. Very dog friendly.
Staff couldn't have been more helpful or attentive. Food was delicious - provision made for gluten free diet. Rushed of their feet but time for everybody.
Loved it and will be back.
We’ve eaten here each year for last 4 years but we’re disappointed with the standard of food this year and the service;
We were a large party of 14 so understand it can be difficult but drinks were missed from the order: the soup was cold at the bottom; the lasagne was more like a bolognaise( no recognisable layers )
The portions were too big ( I know some people might not find this a problem but it was excessive at the cost of quality)
Service was just okay, waitress whilst nice, spilt oil on one of our party.
We won’t be returning next year unfortunately
Food tasted fresh. Fish was flaky without too much batter. We will certainly be back
Delicious fresh food!
Initial welcome not friendly, was ignored by staff to tell them we had a reservation but uphill after that. Serving staff friendly and helpful
An enjoyable lunch, lovely tasty sandwiches, we look forward to returning.
Modern, spacious decor with a lovely planted patio area. Efficient friendly staff. Delicious home made dishes. More choice on tapped lagers would be good😉
Manageress shouting at staff. Sandwich tasteless and rubbish.
Felt very uncomfortable indeed.
It would be helpful if there was the option of a smaller portion on the Roasts.
Food was good but just too much for the smaller appetite.
The food is very nice, well prepared and good portions.
The service is very good and overall the staff are very friendly if a little over worked when the restaurant is at full capacity.
I would highly recommend the Sunday lunch.
Enjoyed the meal, very good, waitress bad tempered & abrupt, not good. Poor service spoils the occasion.
Would recommend food & warn about service.
Lovely summer Sunday lunch at the Kings Arms. The food was amazing, really good value and hearty portions…the desserts were especially good!
5 of us had a roast which couldn’t have been better.
Service was mixed, and could have been slightly friendlier and less pushy at times but all in all very happy with our experience.
Great food in a lovely restauranty pub. Staff were okay (not hugely attentive despite it being quiet) and food arrived promptly. Very dog friendly and our dog loved the sausage and gravy from the ‘a la bark’ menu.
We were looking forward to eating in a pub which claims to specialise in local beef and seafood
One waitress was so sarcastic it was shocking, with remarks like give me a chance when we asked for a menu and I am only human when a mistake was made with the order. No awareness of how rude she was and how uncomfortable she made my family feel
The food was very poor quality overcooked lobster and steak, cod goujons on the childrens menu were fish fingers. chocolate chip pudding was actually chocolate orange pudding. Such a let down to our last day of our holiday. Very disappointed
The food was fine but we didn’t feel we had a good greeting from the front of house staff member. She didn’t give a pleasant greeting as far as I was concerned.
I ordered the Thai curry which was much too spicey for me … we told the waitress … she immediately offered to get me something else , was very apologetic and even gave us complimentary drinks.
Superb service !!!!
Would definitely go back.
Sadly no fish on the night we were there. Staff attentive. Good beer.
