The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Very warm and inviting location with delicious food.
I expected it to be more of a gastro pub than a restaurant. Oysters were delicious for the starter but I didn’t rate the sole for main course. Great wine and beer selection and lovely setting but expected the food to be nicer.
Every dish was absolutely delicious. The portions were fantastic. I ordered the mussels and there were so many I couldn't even finish! But, the sauce that came with them was fantastic and there wasn't a single bad mussel in the bunch. Great atmosphere and great food.
Had a good lunch relaxed atmosphere extremely good service and great food The waiter could not have been more helpful all round a great experience
A little loud, but as you would expect its busy.
Pricing a little heavy but yuo need to pay for this quality
Was looking forward to meal - heard really good things about the food, although about a year ago. Steak and ale Pie was flavorless so too was the gravy- zero flavor. Chips were hard, under cooked. Expect a lot more for €22. Good sharing platter. Treacle tart was very good.
As always The Legal Eagle is excellent. I would like if they could maybe do away with ‘70’s Sunday’s and add in some flat breads onto the menu. As a regular patron on Sunday’s I don’t seem to be able to try some of their other excellent offerings.
One of the best kitchens you'll find, and not only in Dublin!
The Legal Eagle is a must visit: local ingredients, original mixture of tastes and plates that combine original Irish cuisine with the finest of everywhere else.
A fan? Me? Well … yes, I am!
Prima esperienza irlandese, ho trovato del buon cibo e una bella atmosfera, molto simpatiche le ragazze che ci hanno servito!
Great experience and atmosphere, tasty food and friendly staff! We had a great night, totally recommended!
We went this last weekend to Legal Eagle for my parents 60th birthday dinner while away in Dublin for the weekend. They were so lovely right from the start! One of our party was a new vegan (we had booked before this happened) and they created dishes off menu for him so he wouldn’t have to eat just chips!
The steak and ale pie was unbelievable and the staff were brilliant. Definitely recommend!
Delicious meal, very pleasantly served, lovely surroundings before going to carol service in Christchurch Cathedral - highly recommend!
Delicious traditional Irish food with a twist. Would highly recommend.
The service was great and the wine and overall atmosphere were great too. Just the food was below average and overpriced. I thought the seventies style menu would be done very well but it was very dry and not very hot at all. The starters were definitely better than mains but overall was not worth the money.
The food is really good and great service
Not very impressed with the dinner choice on Saturday night. I had the wild venison & chestnut suet pudding and my friend had the Steak & ale pie , both which were stodgy and quite unappealing. I think we'll be giving it a miss for a while.
Fantastic food. One of the best i have had, the starters are out of this world
Lovely decor, lovely food, great service, quite expensive.
Wonderful choice of food.... the roast beef was possibly the best I’ve ever had! The fish platter that my daughter had for her main looked beautiful and apparently tasted even better than it looked. If I had to criticise anything, it would be really hard other than to say some green veg would be a great addition to the roast. Sublime!
Really nice menu. Good variety.
Food always fantastic.
We had the seafood starter, sweet breads, beef brisket, hake and a potato flatbread.
Also Eton mess for desert. All the food was good and well portioned.
Good choice of drinks. Craft beers and wines
Service friendly and excellent.
With 2 friends from Washington DC most impressed by inventive varied menu wine list and attentive service. Gary and Geraldine most helpful. They will go back to the Legal Eagle before heading home.
Traditional Pub with great food, good value for money!
von außen unscheinbar, aber super Essensqualität, super Service und nett zum sitzen
Pretty lunch setting. Great food and staff - roast beef was delicious
Great restaurant with retro themed menu when we were there . Jelly and ice cream . What’s not to like about that
Lovely service
Fantastic restaurant great food and brilliant service you won’t be disappointed 👍🏻
The seventies menu is amazing value for money, the food was all delish
Amazing experience as always with Legal Eagle. Staff are wonderful and so accommodating when I requested a quiet and secluded table for a family dinner including a newborn. Service was impeccable and food as delicious as always. Special note for the excellent coffees also as this is often a let down at restaurants. We will definitely be back!
Food was delicious, needed more gravy with our Roast dinner. A small jug of extra gravy was welcome after asking.
Couldn't fault the food, I'm just a gravy lover.
Cocktails were amazing 👌
Have been here several times and have never been disappointed with the food. The staff are always very helpful and knowledgeable about the food and wine and it's always a pleasure to go there. The only thing I can say against the place is that there seems to be a bit of a strange smell when you are in the bar area. It's not overpowering but it does ruin the otherwise lovely atmosphere somewhat.
Amazing food, polite and helpful staff. Hidden gem and would definitely visit again and highly recommend
Excellent food and drinks list. Waiters are very friendly. And the atmosphere is relaxed. I absolutely recommand.
Second time eating here and even better than I recall!
Went with my family. We all loved it. We’ll be back
Service was excellent, staff very friendly and helpful. Huge selection of craft beers however they don't sell draught carlsberg or heinekin. Their home made crisps are excellent! The food is just nice, but definitely not worth the money. Very small portions. I had the roast beef nd my hubby had the lamb. No mash, just three roasted baby potatoes. I havnt got a big appetite but even I was still hungry after it. The saving grace was the bread and butter pudding! It was amazing, but €29 for three slices of beef three spuds nd a Yorkshire pudding, nd the pudding after is a complete rip off. I'll recommend it to friends for the beer, crisps and atmosphere but can't recommend good value for money I'm afraid.
Poor service leads to a bad review. Reservation for 8.15pm. Got main course at 10.05pm. Complaint well dealt with by staff.
Our waiter was great in recommending the best dishes and wine to go with . I could not stop eating their brown bread which was excellent
The care that is taken in preparing the food is evident as soon as the plate is set on the table. The flavours confirm the excellent presentation. The wait staff had excellent knowledge of both the food and the wine.
Our 2nd time here with friends and a fantastic experience, I had a dietary requirement which they handled extremely well
We went the whole hog and had Chateaubriand and beef dripping roasties with cauliflower rarebit with a bottle of La Tribuna.
The food was absolutely stunning, cooked perfectly with the substantial left overs nicely packaged for us in a cardboard box. In fact there was so much left that we had a breakfast and a dinner out of the beef the next day!
The service was brilliant and we regret not getting the name of our wonderful server so we could pass commendations to her manager.
I couldn't recommend the Legal Eagle highly enough!
