This is one of our new go to restaurants. Since we went on Saturday, and most people were avoiding crowds, it was very quiet.
The service has always been wonderful, with the owner stopping by to make sure that everything was okay.
Would highly recommend.
Waiter canceled one diners meal from table. Had to wait an extra 10+ minutes for a salad with chicken. Apologized but should’ve camp’s something for MAJOR inconvenience and disruption to dinner. Unfortunate might not return.
Very nice restaurant. Was disappointed at first that the bar would make a dark and stormy with light rum and think no one would notice. (Thus the name)! Was very appreciative that the Manager agreed and quickly removed the drink and had it prepared with dark rum. Everything else was perfect. The calamari and garlic shrimp appetizers were delicious along with the beet salad. All steak Dinner entrees and the lamb special were fantastic. Service was very attentive ...Will definitely return.
Food and service was excellent. I had the calamari and shrimp would highly recomend
This is now the second time that I have taken my girlfriend here and we both had a wonderful experience on both occasions. The atmosphere is great, perfect lighting and quiet. Servers and staff went above and beyond, with even the chef coming out to speak with us. The prime rib is perfect and the chicken au vin was the lady’s choice on both occasions. Also I should mention the creme
Brûlée was quite possibly the best I have ever had.
Waited to write a review till I’d dined here 5+ times. This location has flipped numerous times in the past 7 years. The Tavern, hopefully will have a long tenure. Restaurant interior is very nicely done. Tables are nicely spaced while preserving a very nice atmosphere. The decor is warm and inviting but not stuffy or pretentious. The service has been extraordinary on each of our visits (and that includes parties of 2 (multiple times), 4, and 6. Friendly, attentive and professional is a combination that makes the experience headed for truly special ... if the kitchen delivers. At the Tavern, the kitchen delivers. This is a neighborhood restaurant yet in the same week, I had a burger with fries both here and at ABC Kitchen in Manhattan and while both were very good, the burger, and especially the fries were better here. We’ve tried many of the selections and have never been disappointed. Hint: the bar menu offers some simple but very good basic fare. The pastas are excellent. Give the Martinsville Tavern a shot!
Our waitress was a gem !
Our first time and we will be back. Pretty, fun atmosphere and excellent food. The eggplant Florentine is worth a visit all by itself!
The food was the best I’ve had in a while. The service was friendly and attentive. Chef deserves the highest marks for the creative touches in bringing a great experience to the table.
We’ll be back. You should definitely make a reservation.
We had a fabulous Valentines day dinner. Attentive service and nice atmosphere.
Nice Place - Great Service; will definitely go back
Had a great Catch up dinner and drinks, introducing a friend to this restaurant; now a tested favorite. Daiquiri cocktails, wine, roasted chicken special; all were excellent. Their portions are very large so we split the Vanilla Goat Cheese salad but added a ‘digestif’ of “43” liquor: very smooth!
Nicole made us feel like we were VIP’s but then they always do here. Thank you, Nicole!
I will be back here soon.
Frequent diners at this restaurant- the special breast of chicken dish was delicious but my takeaway was actually the Pinot Noir - delicious and a generous pour as usual.
Nicole and Antonio make for a welcoming ambiance.
Looking forward to the next visit.
Everything was perfect !
Food was pretty good. Steak came out overcooked and a pasta dish came out luke warm. Nice atmosphere and great wine and cocktail menu. They obviously wanted to be out the door at 10pm because as we were winding down about 9:30, they were cleaning around us and shutting everything down. It was a bit in-welcoming.
Good food and drinks
After a delay of about 20 minutes in getting seated. Things got better, Seated in the lower, "patio" section proved to be very cold but the staff quickly accommodated us for a move (another couple moved next to us shortly after as they too were too cold downstairs) to a warmer area. We have eaten here 5-6 times before. The service is always very, very good if not great. Friendly, professional and competent is a superb combination! Food was delicious as it always has been. My wife had the pasta and was again, amazed at how well the pasta was cooked. I had a burger off the bar menu and it was cooked perfectly to order and the fries were served hot and crispy. I had a caesar salad to start and it was very good and my wife had the garlic bread toast which while good, was too large a portion for and individual appetizer (not a bad problem!).
In summary, a very pleasant dining experience
Parking lot is small
forgot about my wife's dinner and the owner talked over us when he came to the table. Our server was no where to be found and didn't get the drink order correct
amazing food, amazing service, amazing ambiance! one of the best restaurants in town <3
Another great meal and cocktails Looking forward to our next visit
Our first time there was a great experience. The food was excellent and the service the same! The presentation of restaurant and food was definitely superb. I would highly recommend the Inn to our friends.
The service was excellent, Nicole was a pleasure , the wine selections were reasonable and good. I had the Veal Chop which was as good as the top Italian restaurants in the city. Very nice night and will return in the near future
Service was as amazing as the food! I can not wait to go back, especially for the calamari!
Nicole was fantastic snd the food was incredible! Will definitely be back again soon.
Will definitely be back. Nice rustic atmosphere, amazing staff, and delicious food. Glad to have found it.
Second time eating there food is fantastic will return many times!
Really enjoyed our dinner. The veal parmigiana was outstanding as was the pasta bolognese that my wife had. We both could not finish our meals and barely had room for desert. As good as the food was the attentive service by the entire staff. The owner was extremely kind and a pleasure to talk to. I highly recommend and look forward to our next visit.
Excellent food, friendly service, cozy but a little tight. Muddy, dark parking lot.
Really enjoyed a rare date night at the Martinsville Tavern last night. It has changed hands a few times in recent years so I was curious and didn't know what to expect. I had been to previous versions. We liked this new take on upscale casual dining in Martinsville. The decor definitely fit the name and location - seemed like we were in a cozy tavern in the woods. The food was excellent, but our only critique is that the menu didn't seem to match the name - definitely not tavern/pub food - more upscale. Not too expensive but you should know that it's not pub food going in. Husband had the salmon and I enjoyed the cod. Honey Bee martini was refreshing and the cocktails were unique. Smallish menu but nice choices.
Lovely place, but food was disappointing. Drinks were great. Next time will be a drink at the bar vs full dinner.
Excellent service and ambiance was festive . All of the food was amazing and the suggested featured wine was so good we are going to try and find it for the holidays !
The Martinsville Tavern is a hidden gem. Finally a restaurant in Martinsville that has great food and ambiance, along with the greatest waitress ever, Nicole.
We made a dinner reservation for 7pm. Were sat immediately on arrival. The place is a beautiful restaurant with a staff that are VERY attentive! We each had, the tenderloin, the lasagna and the seafood, everything was absolutely phenomenal. We will absolutely be coming back!
Food was great backed by excellent service.
Service was great and the food was amazing!!! Will definitely go back again!
Nice selection of entrees. The fig appetizer was wonderful. Nicely decorated... tables were adequately spaced apart. Bar is intimate & cozy. It was my first visit and I will visit again.
Saturday night dinner on a cold night temperatures in the 20s. Food was excellent although presentation was a bit unusual in some cases (pasta dish was served in a skillet). However, we were seated in an enclosed outdoor space which was cold and drafty. In fact it was so cold that we had to eat with our coats on. Not a very pleasurable meal.
Loved the whole experience. The food was outstanding as was the service. Antonio and his staff have a potential "Home Run" on their hands. We'll be back again and again.
Great food great service
