The Real Coconut
We thought the food was overpriced and not particularly well presented. The tapas style menu was neither tapas size portions nor a main. The waiting team were not well trained on the menu and struggled to recall our order. Despite making a reservation and a empty restaurant we were told we could only sit on a choice of two tables...hardly a customer centric approach. The food was also luke warm...given the lack of covers this was surprising. The drinks were very good however!
We were told upon arrival that we didn't have a reservation because the restaurant was closed for a wedding. When I told them we had a reservation through OpenTable, they laughed at me. Then when the manager came out, he basically did the same thing. We left and went next door and had an amazing meal. Not sure who deserves the 1 star rating here, OpenTable or Real Coconut, but we were very much looking forward to dining here as it came recommended by multiple people.
We decided to try this place as it presents itself as vegetarian and vegan. But the menu was full of animal surprises. The food and ambience was amazing but when the bill arrived we didn’t expect to see $120 usd. This was a shock and totally misaligned. None of the food and drinks we ordered justifies the total cost.
It was good. A little pricey though
