The Rocks Mornington
Great seafood. Great view. Would definitely come again
We had the seafood platter for two which we thought was average for the price. Two oysters each, one prawn each and one piece of dry barramundi each then filled with pipies, sardines, octopus and outher crustations most would not eat. For 110.00 each plus drinks we left feeling a little short on value.
I was charged twice on Friday night, called twice and emailed. Was told on the phone the office lady would call by Sunday. No reply or call. Went in to the rocks on Sunday, was laughed at I expressed my disappointment and I had no money and was told nothing can be done till Monday. Very disappointed with my experience
I sincerely think the general service is very good but during my visit my husband was given some water to drink but I was not given water although my glass was equally empty. Not only that it was as though I did not exist as my husband was being served. These are some of the little things that matter especially when you dine out being a person in a mixed marriage. Please do not get me wrong I have been here in Australia since December 1995 and been married for 22 years. I have been to the Rocks before as it is not the first time it has happened but I thought I would mention it. I just felt it is important for me to mention this as it affected my outing.
Food and drinks were beautiful and service was amazing :)
Seafood dinner for Valentine’s Day. Very happy with the food and service.
The hosts are absolutely charming, the fish and seafood offerings most comprehensive for enjoyment. Certainly one of the best, if it’s kind, if not the best in the area. Live it. Will be back. Great views from the deck.
Nice service and food good position very enjoyable very good service
My husband suprised me for my birthday as always The Rocks Mornington was sensational.
Lovely food in a beautiful setting, we grazed on a selection of small plates and loved the variety of flavours available.
Great food, friendly staff and wonderful view of the bay.
The service, good and atmosphere was excellent, can recommend highly to friends and family. 👍👍👍
Attentive staff and
Beautiful setting, lovely staff. I was a bit disappointed with seafood platter as it said variety of crustaceans. Yes it had mussels and pippi’s but only one prawn, one scallop and some grilled calamari together with Several fish. I liked there was no fried food. It was nice but I was not wowed.
We’ve been here twice before. We’ve love love love the food. It’s just lovely and the staff are very helpful in navigating the menu. We enjoyed sharing the smaller dishes to get all of the beautiful flavours on offer. We did spy someone ordering a tasting plate which we will order next time - it looked amazing!
Been there many times
Won’t hesitate to coming back again
The atmosphere was very good, parking was plenty and a lot to do. Food was good and yummy if your love seafood. There was kids menu which I thought it was great.
The food was below average for the price I paid. The seafood platter was below average compared to what you get in other restaurants. Also, too dry and not well seasoned.
The other menus were average. I wouldn’t go there again.
60th Engagement and Aus Day
Upon arrival we felt most welcomed by the hostess. All staff encountered were friendly, and our dining experience was superb. Will definitely have the Rocks top of mind when in Mornington.
Very expensive food and wine. Food only average. Disappointing!
A great evening with good food and good service. What more could you want.
Nice restaurant next to the beach. The view is great and food is awesome. I ordered coke but the glass is the size of vodka coke, I was expecting a big glass of coke.
Jodie and Sara provided amazing service on my anniversary. They made us feel very special and cared for. Have always loved the rocks X
Lovely place to go for a special occasion. Outside area on a warm night
Quite a schnickten Location. With the windows open it was very draughty and chilly, however. The fish was very delicious, so were the chips, but the zucchini served with mint were cold and did by no means correlate with the dish.
I was disappointed with the value for money. Side dishes were very small for their price.
My wife and I had a great night for our 39th Anniversary. The service was great, and the food fresh and fantastic. We had the lobster and enjoyed every bit. Sucked the feelers and legs dry.
We have always loved the Rocks, the food used to be great, we always took our visitors from overseas and interstate to the rocks, our special day was always around the 17 th of January our Wedding Anniversary last year we had spaghetti lobster which I could not wait to have it again but it was not on the menu this year which is understandable. I had Fish and chips and my husband had spaghetti seafood. My fish and chips were greasy and the lettuce only had a tiny smear of the dressing. My husband seafood as tasteless and manlycould taste the chilli. We where sodissapointed we did not bother having dessert or coffee.the rocks used to be perfect what happened?
Simple Impeccable from the food to friendly service from the waitress/waiter.
Definitely going back.
The salad we had was bland and like chewing on grass. It was a shame as I have eaten here before and it was good.
Everything was good, beautiful location and great food!
Do not go here it will not end well.
Staff are terrible and just don’t care.
Went there and personally booked a specific table which I was assured would be available for us at 7pm.
When we got there there were no tables available.
We were made to wait in the bar for a table to be one available.
When a table did become available it was not the one we had booked.
We were offered a stool at the bar in the corner of the room to eat our dinner. It was barely big enough for the two of us.
To make matters worse not long after they added another random person at our dining area. Just one random person sitting at our table who didn’t order any food just drinks. Just sat there getting drunk next to us which made conversation really difficult.
The management didn’t care they sat us in the corner and forgot about us.
We couldn't even get a drink. Only the random drunk person sitting next to us could get drinks.
To make matters worse the table we had specifically booked when it did become available they cleared it and sat new people down all at the same time while we were waiting for service.
Great food in a really nice setting, chose outside seating if available
Lamb shoulder lacked flavor. Difficult to talk - too noisy. No veg with pork schnitzel. Lighting poor. Disappointing in view of your reputation.
Though (what I assumed was the manager) was very good at rectifying the service issues, we were waiting a long time for both our drinks and food order. My garlic muscles were particularly salty and my husbands muscles were 50% closed. Expected more after reading reviews
Good food, good wine list, good choice of cocktails and other drinks, service as would be expected(prompt and efficient) Decor could be modernized a bit which would improve the overall experience.
Really enjoyed the lunch we had, I haven't had such a lovely, fresh meal like that for a long time, really enjoyable, our waitress was a pleasure and made our experience wonderful.
Great location, good food and good choice of local and international wines.
