The Snowy Owl
Very high quality food. Good ambience. Slow service owing to pressurised staff.
Usually a pleasant visit, however ginger haired girl behind bar was extremely rude and awkward. We had a query on the weekend treat offer, she was abrupt when replying then she started shouting after someone in the middle of talking with us - we then received glares from the girl after deciding to place our order with someone else. Usually visit a few times a month but to be honest this visit has put me off visiting in the future. Teach your staff manners! Other than that, food was very nice.
Fathers Day - the three course menu was good and offered a range of options. My husband only eats small portions so asked if he could just have a main course which was agreed by the management. When the bill came we paid the 3 course price for my husbands main course which we thought was a little excessive.
I have visited the Snowy owl several times. Food and service by friendly staff have always been very good. The menu is quite varied and should appeal to most people. I will go again.
Service a little slow
A nice afternoon of easy dining. Good service, friendly and helpful staff. Relaxing atmosphere.
The snowy owl manager went the extra mile to get us seated when open table.co.uk had NOT made the booking with the restaurant
I was advised not to make any bookings for the snowy owl through opentable.co.uk
Phone direct to avoid disapointment
Usually dine at The Falcons Nest on a Sunday but as we were in Blagdon we decided to visit The Snowy Owl (same chain).
We reserved a table so we’re sat immediately upon arriving. It didn’t seem to be as busy as I’ve seen it in the past but our service was mega-slow. We sat for what seemed ages before drinks order was taken, then again for food order, again to order a second round of drinks (despite trying to get staffs attention on 3 separate occasions) before lunch finally arrived. Rather than look at the dessert menu and wait ages again we just told staff what we wanted.
Two Sunday turkey and two sticky toffee puddings - lovely. As expected.
We’ve opted to go back to The Falcons Nest this Sunday.
A very enjoyable evening, friendly service, nice food with a warm atmosphere
There was no record of our booking through opentable but the staff were able to move things around.
Typical “Pub Grub” reasonable selection at an acceptable price.
We enjoyed a birthday lunch for 5 which was delicious, the staff and service was second to none the ambiance of the setting was perfect the weather was also good that day, recommend to anyone.
Been to the Snowy Owl on numerous occassions at different times and accross all days of the week and it is consistently great! Very warm, welcoming atmosphere with friendly, helpful staff and lovely food!!!
I'd recomend it to anyone for almost any occassion!
The Sunday lunch was average compared to other local places we have visited although the meat portions were on ration(2 slices of pork!) Service was slow but thats usual in the Snowy Owl.Nice atmosphere in the pub with plenty of room even though it was quite busy. There are plenty of better places to eat locally but this is on the door step for us so we find it convenient as there are usually a few time slots available on a Sunday.Overall not too bad but not a stand out from the crowd type of eatery.
Great food. Service was slow but it was Father's Day. Our request for pet friendly table not passed on by Open Table.
All was perfect except the main courses: Sunday lunches. Meat was dry and small portion. Yorkshire puddings flat as pancakes. All felt a little as if we were getting the dregs. The rest of the meal, veg, service ambience was perfect. I’ve eaten here many times and this is the first disappointment.
Really nice home cooked food, I would have rated it 5* but the steak was a bad cut and very stringy on this occasion. Otherwise it was very nice. The pub is a nice venue for a catch up as it is predominantly couples .It doesn't have lots of noise and rarely do you see any kids running around. It is slightly more expensive than other places in and around cramlington but it has a nice atmosphere with the open fire and tartan theme furniture it is rustic and homely.
Although a busy sunday lunch sitting, our table was ready when we arrived, the quality and standard of the cooking fantatsic, service attentive and the value for money great.
An excellent evening, with good company, good service and excellent food. What more could one want!!
We were a party of twelve, the staff were brilliant, friendly and efficient. The food arrived hot and quickly and was delicious. We had four children/babies uunder four with us and they were made to feel most welcome. Thank you
Lovely Sunday lunch, friendly staff. Felt well looked after.
Staff were attentive, food was really enjoyable, atmosphere was warm and friendly and we will be going back.
The food was really good and the night was complete with the pleasant and helpful staff
How roomy the diner seating was you are not crambed and sitting on top of each other like in some pubs
Don't recommend booking this venue through OpenTable as they had no record at all of our booking... Just lucky I called to confirm it the day before otherwise we wouldn't have got in on Mother's Day! Otherwise it's a great pub - the poor service rating is a result of them clearly not being prepared for being so busy so the food was really slow coming out. But I do recommend it for an every day pub meal!
Great food and brilliant service by the lads. They thoroughly entertained my mum.
Food was very disappointing, had sunday lunch the yorkshires were soggy and burnt! The roasts were hard and tasteless whole meal was poor!
Very welcome with friendly helpful staff and great food. Highly recommended.
Lovely food and very attentive service. They tolerated my demanding mother and her weird requests. We'll be back.
