The Village Bakery and Cafe

I celebrated my Birthday here and it was wonderful.
So nice to get out and eat again. Village Bakery has set up tables in front of the restaurant and out back with social distance rules in mind. The food remains fantastic and the staff are wonderful.
Outdoor parking lot dining is great! Quiet, socially distanced... and then all of the usual plusses of the usual quality of the food, service and ambiance!
Special occasion restaurant. Outstanding service. Nice and clean.
Very relaxing ambience. Lovely patio dining.
Very friendly brought out a nice bd desert
They did a great job setting up their outside eating area and providing great service.
Delish food and excellent service.
They have dinner out in front (turned parking lot into outdoor dining (nice) and you can also sit on their back patio.
The food is great and service is attentive. I also love Woodside.
The back patio is a little oasis; sheltered but outside. Fast and attentive service. Great socially distanced treat.
Our family was so happy just to get out of the house and have a wonderful meal. The outdoor seating was nicely done. The staff was great and took care of us.
We appreciated reopening with new front outdoor seating and great service. The menu is still very limited and has a 20% automatically applied tip is on check, however we were told that fee mainly goes to the restaurant and very little of funds are given to our server which we had misunderstood, so we happily provided a generous cash tip. The policy should be clear to guests to take care of your servers. Stay well.
Great dinner, great service - it was nice to be able to sit outdoors and have dinner - my husband and split a Caesar salad and the Salmon dish with lentils and spring vegetables, while the kids each had a cheeseburger with fries - everything tasted delicious! They were even gracious enough to bring out some extra anchovies for the salad - the waitstaff all had masks on, and all the tables were spaced out appropriately-
I had lunch at The Village Bakery and Café just once, and had a very positive experience. The fried chicken was superb, and biscuit it came with was perfect. All in all a good lunch!
The outside tables were well spaced. Delicious salad. The fried chicken could have been a little crispier.
Excellent service and food, as always.We look forward to going back.
No recognition or not even greeted!
The food was delicious. We thought we would be sitting in the back patio, but we were seated in the parking lot. It was a windy night so there wasn't a lot that the staff could do with umbrellas, etc. to make the ambiance better. We will definitely return for dinner.
The service was excellent as was the ambiance, but the food was mediocre and overpriced.
We went for my friends birthday dinner. I had asked for a candle on the dessert and our waitress was spot on with the candle and birthday wishes. We enjoyed our evening.
Nice place. Pretty good food. Loved the rolls. I think for $22 per glass that the champagne should be served in a champagne glass not a white wine glass. I know this is a nit but that is my feeling.
Hits and Misses-
The Village bakery and café has done a wonderful job remodeling and the ambience inside and outside are inviting. The staff are professional, friendly and attentive. The pot roast entrée and the cheesecake for dessert were delicious!
Now for the Misses. The warm spinach dip was like a “lean cuisine” spinach soufflé heated up and cheese tossed on top.
The French Onion Soup was completely disappointing. The amount of onion and cheese was too much (never thought I would say that!) causing an inability to even get to the broth in the small bowl. It required removing the onion cheese ball on to a bread plate in order to attempt to enjoy the broth.
The special of cod and calamari entrée was underwhelming.
As such, the evening meal was a disappointment in regards to the food and subsequent cost.
However, the atmosphere encouraged a joyful gathering of friends. Overall, we will continue to try and hope there will be more “hits vs misses” in the future.
Service is wonderful, but the food is nothing too special, and it is overpriced. Notice the "4.75%" addition to all checks - they do this next door at the Bakery. It really does add up.
I find the ambiance to be outdated, with the exception of the patio. It feels much more formal and old-fashioned for the location and menu (eg lots of pizzas, pastas).
The menu should be changed more often; it is rather limited and gets tired when you end up going a couple times a month.
Due to proximity to my home, I go with some frequency, but I would not necessarily recommend that others come from further out.
Village Bakery and Cafe is a beautiful option if you are interested in staying local in Woodside. With warm interiors, attentive service, a great bar and a creative menu, you will not be disappointed at the Village Bakery!
Onion soup 👎🏻;
Burger undercooked from what was ordered;
Chocolate cake 👎🏻, frosting was hard and inedible;
Iced tea was bitter
French fries only good item
The food was excellent and I will go back for that reason. However, the server initially got our order wrong and had to re-do it, the music was way too loud for how few people were in the restaurant, and the restroom had no toilet paper, and it was early in the day. So it seems there are a few service/ambience issues that need to be resolved.
Food was terrific, featuring new items duck pasta and the pork chop. Delicious. We like that the menu rotates with the seasons. Service was very good and Jen was helpful with suggestions.
Lovely restaurant for couples or small groups. Great food and bonus Tuesdays ALL wine bottles are 1/2 off.
Always the perfect spot for a ladies lunch!
Good vibe to the place. Good choice of food and healthy options.
We arrived early and they were able to work us in. Fantastic burgers. Can’t wait Togo back and try more from the menu.
Being plant based eaters, we ordered the kale grains bowl. It was very tasty but not a hearty meal and we were shocked to have to pay extra for a little bread. With coffee and a dessert (manager said he “sometimes” gives a dessert on the house for a birthday, but that did not happen) , the bill came to about $85, for a few kale leaves with grains, sprinkled on top, bread, coffee and one dessert. Our waiter was not professional in his role. The manager later said he was part of the kitchen staff.
The food is okay but the service was bad even after numerous requests.
We enjoyed our dinner very much and the service was great.
My mom was so pampered!!!
