The Village Pub is one of my favorite restaurants but after the service I received yesterday during brunch I might not return. Although the server was very friendly he was inattentive and didn’t seem to have enough knowledge of the menu. My dining companion sat for 10 minutes with an empty water glass as well as empty Mimosa glass. Bottom line, very unprofessional service. When I spend $36 for a glass of wine I expect professional service.
Great service and a wonderful experience
Service very very slow
Very nice. Food was quite tasty and the service was excellent. Also, an extensive list of wines.
We had a great experience, service was very good and food was very good too.
Our dinner was absolutely delicious!!! Our server was attentive and the ambiance was lovely. The only negative was the bus boy who was very polite but not well trained. He removed an empty wine glass after the salad without asking our guest if they’d like another glass. Then he continually tried to remove food plates when we were all continuing to eat. It actually became a joke at the table because he did that so often. We spent nearly 600 for 4 people so I think the bus boy should have been better trained. Having said that the food was terrific as was our server so we will definitely return again.
Very cozy. Noise well controlled so good for conversation. Food was disappointing. My starter (chestnut tortellini )had a pasty quality. Entree of scallops was excellent. Desert (chocolate entrement) was meh. My husband’s food elicited similar reaction.
The leeks soup was tasteless. Had to wait a long time to get noticed at first.
There to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and they really made it a special evening.
Great service -Cory was great !
Meal was delicious!
Appetizers were great, distinctive flavors and textures. Main courses were good. Tropical rice pudding desert was excellent bur would avoid apple tart, very little apple and so so pastry.
Our favorite place to go for an intimate celebration!
Red Brick Chicken at lunch today was outstanding. Sue said best chicken she has ever had!Wonderful sauce and preparedness by Chef de Cuisine Steven Pelas. I shared some of it.
I had Alaska Halibut, fresh, very tasty, with great presentation. Chocolate Turtle was also delicious.
Service always excellent. Place was packed for lunch. We always get reservations; my advice. Waiter Tom Pavicig served some excellent wine, too. What a pleasure. Hope Brick Chicken becomes a regular on the menu.
Wait person was superb! We both had halibut and it was moist and well prepared.
For many years I have felt that The Village Pub is the finest restaurant on the Peninsula. Whenever we have a family celebration I make sure to have it here, as I know no one will be disappointed!
It was my friends birthday
Always excellent, great food, great service. Lunch here is a treat !
Everything was outstanding! The service was top notch. The food was over-the-top delicious. Eating at The Village Pub is always a dining experience in and of itself.
Wonderful!!!
Village Pub always an enjoyable place for us as food is always fresh and delicious . For starter, I had the leek and potato soup, yummy! Tuna tartare was refreshing and great and entree I had the truffle pasta, delish!!! My partner enjoyed his pub burger, juicy! Most importantly, our server, Melody always make us feel very welcomed, comfy and special!!! She is the Best!!!
Excellent food and service
Best burgers in town! Sat on the front patio, and it's very quiet while still maintaining the attentive service. Dinners are also delicious. Highly recommend the Village Pub!
Great restaurant but wait staff is too over trained. Always taking plates and putting new ones down, changing utensils etc... but overall it was great!
We have come to expect nothing short of excellence at the Village Pub, and this occasion was no exception. While all of the staff are always superb, Tom P., our server, is the personification of old-world professionalism, attentiveness and friendliness, and makes us feel welcome and in good hands. From starters and wine to entrees and dessert, the offerings are always stellar, making for a memorable experience from start to finish. I can not recommend the Village Pub highly enough, as it ranks with the best meals I have ever had. Kudos to the kitchen, administration, servers and everyone responsible for keeping us coming back for very special occasions. Thank you, one and all.
Anniversary and from the time we entered until we left we were made to feel special.
Our waiter had extreme halitosis, which made all our interactions unpleasant.
Always enjoy going to the Village Pub. However, the prices are now too high. The addition of the 4% surcharge was the straw that broke the camel’s back. The buttermilk chicken was very good as always. The glasses of wine were paltry & too expensive.
There were a lot of empty seats all during the lunch hours, so, maybe a lot of other people agree with us.
Won’t be returning. Only the very wealthy & “business write off” folks can afford to be gouged like this. It won’t break me, but, I don’t believe in throwing money away. There are plenty of very good restaurants on the peninsula with good food and much more fair prices.
Maybe they don’t want people like us.
Reliably good, but a bit short of being really outstanding.
Enjoyed our evening and the food.
The Village Pub lives up to the incredibly high standard it has set over the years.
A hidden gem in Woodside. The food and ambiance are what I expect from a 5 star restaurant. What a treat!
Having dined at The Village Pub may times over the years, I was expecting the usual outstanding service and food. But alas, they are slipping on both. Service was mediocre, slow, and not personal at all. Food was good but lackluster. Are they resting on their laurels? Its not the special place it used to be.
Stopped in on Sunday for an amazing brunch. We split the 16 oz rib eye with gnocchi and spinach. Pomegranate mimosas were delicious. We will be back!
Food as good as ever, except my duck dinner was cold. Took nearly 30 min to get drinks from bar to our table, lengthy wait to get waiter's attention to open wine. Decanting wine no longer done table side as was previously our experience.
I'm currently on a gluten and dairy free restriction. Restaurant was very accommodating. Everything was delicious as they modified most of the dishes.
Our waitress , Melody, was wonderful. The $100 a peace for the porterhouse dinner was excessive.
Love the Village Pub. They change their menu often and the dishes are always great. We go there quite a lot and have enjoyed every visit. The wait staff are great and so is the bread!
My wife’s birthday with family. Our server, Melody, was superb!
HAVE NOT BEEN TO VILLAGE PUB FOR A TIME. IT WAS JUST EXCELLENT FOR LUNCH.
PARTICULARLY, SINCE WAS SO QUIET AND SERENE AND YOU COULD TALK AND HEAR.
1ST RATE SERVICE. EXPENSIVE, BUT TOTALLY WORTH IT.
Always flawless wonderful experience
Perfect birthday dinner
