I had been to Village Pub many times, but this is the first time since Covid-19 Pandemic, the outdoor seating was nice, so is the services, but the food are not up to the preivous standard. It was a bit salty on the first course, and abit over cook and chewy on for the Duck Breast and bland on the fish. the suoffle was great.
Wonderful upscale food overall ( except the sea bass was a bit bland), we has three course meal for $79 with several choices in each course, not counting wine. Service charge of 20% is included, shared by all.
Duck, chocolate souffle to die for. Huge wine list, with a knowledgable young man sommelier with flowing long blond hair that added to the beautiful ambience :)
Outdoor dining with spaced tables only right now on an extended patio.
Service was mildly disorganized but friendly.
A great place for a luxury date, special occasion, or everyday dining if you are local and wealthy, as many patrons appeared to be, nice casual attire is fine.
Outstanding food and service. Somewhat expensive, of course.
My wife and I went to Village Pub for our anniversary and it was good. The food was fantastic, it was quiet, but for the price, I would have appreciated the going the extra mile. For example, everyone in the restaurant was wished a Happy Birthday or Anniversary, except us and I filled that out when we were booking the table. I was quite disappointed. We also got put in an odd seat and I’m wondering, if it was because I was not white. Food was great. Probably will not go back despite leaving so close.
Beautiful professional service, and supremely elegant food!!
It was a real pleasure to enjoy a lovely evening with great food and service. The Village Pub created a charming out door patio area. We felt safe eating there and of course were delighted to be able to do so.
The lobster Benedict was off the charts!
Had an anniversary dinner at Village Pub last night. Called ahead to ask what the corkage fee was - $50 - yikes! Decent ambiance and a nice menu. Server offered 2 glass choices for champagne to toast our milestone but failed to mention each glass was $36! Meal was good but the ribeye was definitely not worth the extra $55 on top of the 3 course price. Left the restaurant with almost a $600 bill. Not expecting that type of experience for the cost and left with a bad taste in our mouths.
It was really nice to have a stellar dinner for our anniversary. The food and service were excellent. The ambience is as nice as it can be for having to be outside in the smokey Bay Area. A few, less expensive wine options would be nice as well as more adventurous cocktail options.
The outside dining was Great, but the temperature way to HOT.
Food was fabulous as always and we will do it again soon.
Even with Covid and a hot and smoke filled CA evening. The Village Pub pulled it off. Loved it!
Steak that we upgraded for $55 extra was too chewy to eat. Usually I'm quite impressed but this visit was a let down.
Food is as good as always. Nice ambiance in the newly set up veranda!
The Village Pub made our outdoor dining experience phenomenal! Our waitress, the staff, and host were diligent and welcoming. The prefix menu was amazing. They had options for all. I ordered the lobster while my partner ordered the halibut. Both dishes were stellar.
The Atmosphere is very nice and the service was great except for the the fact that they seemed to be rushing us. The meal was VERY expensive. Spent over $700 for 2 people.
But you get what you pay for. The food was outstanding, the wine was magnificently paired beautifully and the evening was very enjoyable.
Excellent food and service. Very good dinner at price’s not for the faint of heart.
Great food and wine. Wonderful Sevice. Pricey but worth it
Excellent service & wonderful food. They have created an outdoor patio that feels both special &safe.
Excellent outdoor dining experience. Tables were nicely spaced on a patio. Very private and intimate. Top notch service as expected and food was excellent.
one of our favorite restaurants! delicious food and outstanding service!
Divine food and loved the outdoor, socially distanced patio!
I've been a regular at The Pub. While it does have a pub-like atmosphere, it's best to think of the place as a Michelin-starred restaurant. And what a joy it is. We had dinner there last night, and had a spectacular meal. It's especially difficult now with the measures necessary to cope with COVID-19 and the wildfires. They have excellent outdoor seating, properly laid out to cope with Covid requirements. Even fans and filters for the wildfire smoke. In the madness that is August 2020, they've created an oasis of calm safety.
Great meal. Great service. Awkward with the new 20% forced service fee. Even more awkward was that on top of the forced 20% tip they now tax you on the tip. On a $500 meal you wind up with $100 tip and then $10 paying the state tax on your$100 tip. Very weird. I’ve always left tips of 20% or higher so not sure why they felt the need for the new forced tip with tip tax.
Birthday! The VP always makes it special!
The outdoor patio is just gorgeous! I hope it stays!
+ Main course was excellent (dry aged duck breast)
+ Ambience was very nice
- Amuse bouche, first course and dessert ok, but nothing special. Amuse bouche was cheese bread. The chocolate soufflé with vanilla sauce was too sweet, not balanced out with something sour like a fruit sorbet. Could be a lot more creative.
What an amazing place to dine in the midst of the pandemic! Service is impeccable, food was outstanding. Outdoor patio area was nice. Highly recommend!
Food was really fantastic, but the outdoor dining experience was not good, at least for our early evening dinner. The umbrellas were poorly positioned for the movements of the setting sun, so my wife and I were sweating half of the time. Also, there were many food service delivery vehicles that would park right next to where we were seated, which both blocked the breeze and was noisy. Don't think we'll return until after indoor dining is permitted.
Birthday.. best burger of my life!
Village Pub is a lovely dinning experience. Every detail...food, taste , presentation and TOP CABIN service...
Its a win...
The Village Pub is the finest and best dining experience between San Francisco and Carmel. Period. They manage to combine amazing food, the best wine list in the area, and beautiful ambience with friendly, intimate highly skilled service. The Pub started as our go to place for anniversaries, Valentine's Day and special occasions and it has become the place we go to feel special anytime.
An outstanding meal, as it is ever time we dine here! Melody always makes the evening a special occasion for us.
Amazing food and staff -- always an exceptional experience!
The outside patio is very nice and the 3 course meal was delicious. The chocolate souffle was outstanding. They did a really good job with social distancing...probably the best job of any restaurant that I have been to recently.
Amazing food and service. Do try the Australian black truffle, it was addictive. The ambiance on the patio on a nice summer evening was perfect, complimented by friendly and knowledgeable waitress. Thanks!
The out door setting was very nicely set up. Great social distance. Services were wonderful. Love the 3 course set menu. We thought the value was good. This was the first birthday celebration with my friends. Just glad that we found a great restaurant. We have a wonderful time.
We had not been to VP for a while and this visit impressed me with how much they have improved. First of all, the menu selection was better. I don't know if the fixed price 3 course menu is just for the pandemic duration, but I actually like it better. For once there is lobster on the menu. Previously, the menu was very heavy on meat and I was never able to find anything I really wanted. This time, the first course of Tagliatelle with Australian black truffles was simply divine. I had Lobster Thermidor as second course and it was good. My husband had the special of rib eye steak and it was beautifully done.
I also like the outside seating better. The whole experience was good, light and airy. Food seems lighter than before too.
Wonderful food and service even though we are in the middle of COVID19. All safety protocols were followed, but did not take away from a wonderful dining experience.
