Great food, my favorite was Nutella pie for dessert.
My first visit...will definitely be back! Food was excellent.
Excellent bar and service. Food was delicious. Ambiance was just what we wanted...beautiful view of the bay and comfortable setting.
We thoroughly enjoyed Water Front and will return for dinner before one of the upcoming Giants games.
Valet parking right in front of the restaurant for $14 but extremely convenient. Excellent service and top class dishes at a reasonable price. Nice seating areas with views of the bay. 10/10 would recommend.
Superb food and delightful service. Great views. Horrible cost to park in the lot across the street. Site claims it's $14. The minimum on weekdays is $15. Weekend cost $35!!!!
Booked for 12pm on a Saturday, so they'd just opened and we were the first in. Service was excellent. We booked an 'outdoor' table - we were seated in a beautiful covered marquee structure, looking over the water. It has glass panes so you are protected from wind, but there is air flow, which made us feel a bit more covid comfortable. Portions are small by American standards, but quality was good. Burgers were fantastic (have this if you are hungry), pizza's were nice (aproximately 10 inches) and the crab sandwich was really tasty, but small (it is on delicious, but thinly sliced sour dough). If you are hungry, I recommend you add an additional side dish (or two!). Overall, the location, view, decor, service and ambiance is really lovely. There is an open air seating area also, which is more casual, so if you want to have even more airflow, perhaps ask for the open air seating area.
We were on vacation in San Francisco and found this gem. Remarkable service and the food was fantastic. Nothing could beat the view though. Highly recommend outdoor seating.
We usually have a great time at the Waterfront, however our waiter Doug had a poor attitude that made our dinner very unpleasant. I don't we'll be back unfortunately.
Great happy hour on the sun patio!
Our second time there and we have no complaints. The food is good at the price, and the view is really good at the price!
We had excellent crab cakes, scallops and cioppino. We probably had the best table in the house, on the mezzanine. Matyias (sp?) was our waiter and he was friendly and very attentive, he was able to vary the mixed grill selection. The only minus was the bartender, who may have been working his first shift. Overall a great experience, we are so happy that they reopened after a lengthy closing, and of course we will return!
Great service , great food , great view!
Once entering you are greeted very kindly. The staff was very nice and friendly. Answer all our questions about the menu and made sure we got the right order. The oysters and crab cakes were delicious! The King Salmon was amazing! I have never tasted mashed potatoes so creamy and full of flavor before!! Was tempted to order more!! I had the Nutella Pie and the chocolate was so rich and delicious. I personally had an amazing experience! Thank you to our waiter Joseph, he was very respectful and kind, attending to our every need! Will definitely be back!!
The food, ambience and the price are excellent. We had a table at the mezzanine with a view. I'm a little disappointed with the Ribeye for two because of the size. I was expecting more, but it had good flavor. The Halibut was outstanding.
I'd certainly recommend Waterfront. The food was delicious and high quality. The drinks generous. The view, well, sublime. The only hitch is service. Our fist/primary waiter was old school professional. But then others got in on the act and dragged down the high service level we enjoyed at hands of primary. But all and all a good time. The caesar was super delicious; perfect amount of dressing. Lig w/clams yummy. Check it our!
Lovely setting and great food. My only complaint is we felt a little rushed, but in fairness, we were late for our reservation. Overall is was very nice, and the view can’t be beat.
The Waterfront wowed us from start to finish. From the friendly greeter, relaxed bar, amazing view, delicious food, and one of the best servers we have ever had, it was an absolute pleasure. Make sure you have a sweater or a coat as the outdoor deck causes a chilly breeze inside, but that’s waterfront San Francisco for you. The cioppino was delicious, oysters were fresh and crem brulee was exceptional. Most of all, Wendie was above and beyond expectations. She cared for us on a personal level rarely seen in any experience we had. Thank you Wendie and The Waterfront!
The service was excellent, and so was the cioppino!
It seems overpriced, but it is San Francisco after all, and on the waterfront.
We chose this as our "first meal in the yellow zone" restaurant and we were really happy with it. The bartender and waiter were wonderful. Sole cooked to perfection. A lovely meal.
Great place for nice lunch or dinner. Wonderful view of bay plus good food
The atmosphere was gorgeous and the view was even better however, the Food was not worth the high price. It was a really expensive restaurant with small plates of average tasting food. The best part of the food wasn’t the main courses, it was actually the creme brûlée. The service is impeccable and the staff is super friendly. All in all I rate it a 4.
We have come here for our anniversary twice in the last 3 years. It is one of our favorite spots when we come to San Francisco. All the staff always treat us great and the food is always top notch
Food and service was excellent. Ordered a variety of seafood. Everything was fresh and tasted delicious. Will definitely come back.
The Waterfront was a fine dining experience. We were there for lunch and enjoyed the clam Chowder and grilled prawns. Only negative was the value as it was very overpriced.
Very touristy , simple food , nothing special
Excellent food. Beautiful view over the water. Ask for a window seat.
Homemade pasta with seafood was overcooked pasta (?homemade) with minuscule shrimp (a bag of them at the store would be about $5,00-$6.00), about 3-4 mussels and 3-4 claims and very little crab. Basically, a bowl of pasta with almost no sauce and little seafood for $36.00. Sole was OK in size but very basic (no sauce) with mashed potatoes and spinach. Crab cakes also were very small but were mostly crab and not filler. Calamari was soggy. Service was fine. In general, menus and wine list was very limited.
Sadly the Waterfront isn’t what it used to be. The service was incredibly slow, and our server was super awkward. There was a small miscommunication at the beginning of our meal and then we felt like we were punished for the rest of our experience there. We watched 3 tables that were sat after us get their food before us. Then when ours arrived the food was mediocre at best. We ordered a medium burger and it was still moo-ing it was so rare. Sad because we used to love this place.
I ordered mixed grilled seafood and disappointed with cold food. My husband was very pleased with his cioppino. Will go back to try cioppino.
It took to much time to bring the food
All was good except the calamari appetizer was truly was like breaded latex rubber. The main course made up for it but the appetizer was not user friendly to say the least.
The overall lunch was excessively expensive, we had two entrees and two chowders. The final tab was "with tip" and parking $170.00 for two people. It's a great restaurant, perfect location however $170.00 for a lunch was just too expensive.
The food was incredible! We ordered the crab cakes, chowder, and vegetable risotto — definitely recommend these dishes!
Poor service and average food. Will not return.
Loved it. Location is perfect. Food was perfect. Wait staff was awesome!
Great food and cocktails — and especially good appetizers. Excellent staff and lovely casual ambiance in the outdoor space.
Loved it ♥️
Alone together, we celebrated our 40th anniversary at the Waterfront Restaurant...
the excellent food, outstanding service, and unparalleled view made our evening very special. We highly recommend!
