Lovely atmosphere on arrival, attentive staff all way through. Enjoyed the food, the only criticism is trying to get the fat from the beef was difficult because the knives were not sharp, maybe steak knives could have been offered.
Would come again, much prefer a small cosy restaurant,than the larger establishment. However do enjoy background music.

My husbands birthday

a lovely evening only spoilt by a very loud party in the bar which made the dining room impossibly loud...luckily they left to have dinner in the private side leaving us to enjoy our evening and not listening to over excited men shouting!

Mick & Lydia have created a wonderful, warm and welcoming gastro pub. The food is outstanding, the service is spot on and the atmosphere is friendly and comfortable. Can't recommend this highly enough.

Great food but we went on a Sunday at 15:00 so probably the last table to sit down so it was very quite after a little while

The ambiance in The Windmill immediately makes you relaxed and at ease. The menu is interesting with some varied dishes not found at most restaurants but always include some standards and an excellent vegetarian selection. The outstanding service helps to make for an overall great dining experience and in my opinion one of the best in the area.

Fantastic food and food service. Very small environment and we just happened to be seated next to a bigger party which meant we could not hear ourselves speak.

Wonderful food. My all time favourite is the scotch egg starter. The steaks were perfectly cooked and succulent. A lovely experience as always.

Delicious food with a broad and imaginative choice of dishes. Sensible and reasonable pricing given the quality of the produce. Excellent and friendly service with tables realistically spaced. All adds up to a five star rating.

We went to the windmill to celebrate my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary & couldn’t be more delighted with the card they gave them, this was a lovely touch.
The staff are friendly & efficient, the food is excellent.

Absolutely exceptional atmosphere, food is always top-tier. The new function room looks incredible. Would highly recommend a visit, booking is essential.

Went for my wife’s birthday

Lovely atmosphere, excellent food

Although it is a small intimate pub restaurant from the moment we arrived we were welcomed warmly had a drink at the bar before being escorted to our table. It is rare to fond a place where all 3 courses were excellent but they were. I had fish omellete which was novel and excellently flavoured followed by sea bream on wonderful tapenade. To finish perfect chocolate fondant with pistachio ice cream. All courses perfect. Well done ill be back for sure.
