The Yard - Portland

We reserved an igloo for a Friday evening and it was amazing. From the moment we arrived our waitress was friendly and accommodating. Where it was happy hour, we decided to try all of the starters on the menu. You cannot go wrong. The bacon basket, cooked to perfection, Chips and dip (we added guacamole) delish! The buffalo chicken dip, just get it. Warm and spicy, so, so good.
I ordered the blood orange margarita and OH MY GOODNESS, it was the best margarita I have had in years. The wine selection and beer selection, is also great. (basically, you cannot go wrong with any of their choices)
For the meals we split them between us (we had over indulged on apps but it was totally worth it) The Sugar Waffle Pork Sandwich, I am not even sure how to describe this beautiful creation. The perfect amount of smoky, BBQ, spiced pulled pork on a waffle with a sugar crust. Just try it.
The Pork Tacos were also delicious!
Again, our server was amazing. She was the only one out on the patio/igloo area and we never felt missed or forgotten.
I highly recommend trying the Yard. Everything from the ambiance to the food to the staff was incredible.

We reserved an outdoor igloo on New Year’s Eve with our teenagers and dog! Everything was spectacular. We learned that we are obsessed with sugar pearl waffles in all forms. We were warm and tasty with our fire. We had so much fun and enjoyed everything! Service was great.

Did the igloo, fun time alright food, good drinks but the cost is very high.

thought the bubble was a cool idea but wasn’t as special as had anticipated. was cold inside even with the heater and the speakers outside were super loud.

I thought the pricing was excessive for what we got. The menu was super limited and didn’t even have any real entrees. Food was pretty good but not worth the extra cost.

We ate out in an igloo, which you have to reserve. I’m pretty sure 8 people is the max & that’s how many we had. We were a little crowded but we’re a close group so it was good. We also were there on one of the coldest fall nights. But we dressed warm & there was a heater. We also warmed up with the yummiest, most fancy hot chocolates ever. The food was very tasty & the service was excellent. We had so much fun & we will definitely go again!! The ambience at The Yard was very festive with the lights & the fire pit near us as well!

We had a reservation for 7:30pm, but unfortunately, we weren't notified that we can only order food until 8pm and, by the time the server made it back with our drinks ( which we ordered right away upon arrival) he told us we can no longer get any food. Eventually he was able to get us some nachos and pretzels, we really appreciate it.
Our server was very nice and accommodating. Overall a great experience and will return.

The igloos are fun, the service was great & friendly, the food was pure comfort!

The food was good and different. Not too much variety but looking forward to when the burger bar opens. The band was so loud it was hard to talk. Drinks were a hit! They do put a straw in the hot chocolate which might make someone forget it’s hot and they may burn themselves. Service was great! Awesome place to try once and I plan on going back when the burger bar is open and sit outside.

We had reservations for the igloo. It happened to be a stormy day, which I understand cannot be avoided. But it would have been nice to get a phone call informing us that the igloos were without heat and lights due to the storm. Instead we drove 45 minutes to eat in an igloo that we couldn’t do.

Staff were very accommodating and genuinely felt bad, it’s just unfortunate that no one called to tell us prior

In all fairness, we did read other reviews for The Yard, so our experience shouldn’t have been a surprise. The layout and experience was pretty cool, but we paid $40 for a reservation and when we arrived, which was 10 minutes early, there was only one igloo left and it had the most uncomfortable seating of all of them. Our waitress came in initially and took food and drink orders. We ordered apps. The apps arrived about 10 min before our drinks - wine and draft beer. After that, we never saw our waitress again. We had to find her and ask for our check. She waived the minimum charge, but in reality there was no way to meet it in light of the service. All in all, it was an experience that we were looking forward to, but won’t do it again. Would not recommend it to anyone else.

food and service was good! Outdoor igloo was NOT heated and this was not previously specified when booking but was advertised as heated. Disappointed with that issue but overall food and drinks were great!

Had a great experience here! The igloos are not heated but we didn’t need to be bundled up inside of them. The drinks were good, they offer a late night menu after the kitchen closes which is awesome. The staff I interacted with were all wonderful, I would recommend you try this place out if you haven’t yet :)

Not a good choice if you're looking for a meal. The one sandwich on the menu was 86'd and it was only 6:00. What they did have for apps was good (we shared mac and cheese, buffalo chicken dip, and nachos).
We "rented" an igloo for 1.5 hours/$40 which was a cool ambiance. We did feel a little rushed, but knew that would be the case when i saw a time limit when reserving the igloo.
Staff was doing their best with the new protocols, but still with some confusion.
The biggest problem i had was the bathroom. I used it twice; once when we got there and once before we left... no soap or paper towels either time. Staff was aware...
