Alex was very nice we ordered the hibiscus margaritas which were excellent! One of my friends got a sushi roll (not sure which one) and loved it. Another friend ordered salmon and was very happy with it. My daughter and I split orders of mushroom tacos and fish tacos. The fish tacos definitely needed some kind of sauce on them they were very dry and the mushroom tacos were fine but not outstanding.
This was a delicious menu, spacious restaurant, and surprisingly affordable.
The food is AWFUL!!!!!!! Drinks are okay but wow the food is bad
We went with family for brunch. I was disappointed with menu options. It’s just not what I expected. A lot of unhealthy food and not many healthy alternative options. There was only one thing with eggs, it’s tacos. Quesadilla with wild mushrooms and cheese, hardly had any mushrooms in it. The only one healthy thing We liked- cabbage salad- tasty and fresh.
Brunch was amazing! Great service, food came out quickly and was delicious. They did not skimp on the mimosas and plenty of vegetarian options. Would highly recommend.
45 minutes to get our drinks. Over an hour to get food, which was mediocre. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants in DC but has gone downhill.
Food was very underwhelming. Service was great though
I love the food, ambiance, and drinks!! The service was attentive, accommodating, and pleasant.
My one complaint is they let a woman bring her dog in and sit at the table. The dog was barking a lot which tainted my dinning experience.
Terrible service. 30 mins before the server brought first round of drinks.
Good food and service. But the noise level makes it difficult to converse.
Food was great! We love places where they have a lot of small plate apps to choose from. We always order multiple and everyone have at it. Nachos are THEEEE BOMB! Sushi perfect! My fiancée doesn’t even eat sushi a lot, she has her preferred one she sticks to but absolutely loved Nama 14 Sushi. We went during 4th of July special, $7 margaritas. I was prepared for a let down since I saw other reviews saying the drinks were watered down but NO! Drinks were delicious. I had the classic margarita and they had the hibiscus margarita. The only thing I will say is if you want the drinks to continue flowing, order your next one before you even finish your drink. The server was great but a little slow on the drinks. Definitely a 8/10.
Ordered food that never arrived! We ordered sushi & the dip trio when we sat down. While our sushi arrived 30 minutes later, our dip trio never came - despite our server following up with the kitchen. So we had them remove the dip trio from our bill, paid, & left.
We recognize that this matter was out of our server’s control (he was pretty attentive with our drinks). But after this experience, we won’t be returning to Tico!
This was my first time having sushi at Nama, and it was delicious. The cocktails were great too. It was also the perfect noise level on a Sunday evening. I don’t think I could’ve asked for a better experience.
Great server! Very attentive and super kind. Food was delicious.
Service was friendly and I loved the uniqueness of food (mix of sushi and different ethnicities). The food could have been better - entrees were marginal at most. Appetizers were better.
Bottomless brunch is not bottomless; service was abysmal. Our waitress brought us a check less than an hour into our meal and then refused to acknowledge us for the rest of the time we had paid for. When we were able to get her attention, she told us that everything we tried to order “the kitchen was out of.” She was clearly lying, as we saw other tables received the same dish over 45 minutes later. We got a couple of small, cold dishes for the table and 2 pitchers of watery margaritas for over $60/person. When we politely asked for additional food or drinks, as we had paid for, management told us that apparently our waitress never put our orders into the system and so the food would not be delivered.
I had had positive experiences here previously, but our experiences at brunch and particularly with the rude and frankly dishonest behavior from staff have made it so that I will never return and will be advising my friends not to either.
Half of the dishes were blah, half were very good. We were happy with our beer and wine, but I wish they had a better draft beer selection.
delicious and varied offerings especially with the addition of Japanese fare (rolls, ramen). The open wall to 14th street makes this a fun place to grab a relaxed meal and still feel part of the broader strip. Good service and selection of drinks too
The food was nice and I enjoyed my ramen. The chicken wing are good but could be spicier. Can’t wait to go again.
We really enjoyed the Pride brunch, but the service left something to be desired. Our waiter was not the friendliest, and he made us feel rushed and unwelcome. That said, the food was awesome, and we loved the LGBTQ friendly atmosphere.
Great variety of selections. We went for brunch and everything we tasted was good, particularly the Confit Brisket (Must Have!)
The bottomless brunch was fantastic! A great variety of delicious food and drinks (highly recommend the margaritas) for an amazing price.
The food and drinks arrived all at once so we had a table full of drinks, appetizers, and main courses in front of us. The sushi was good but arrived at the table within a couple min of the order which makes me assume it was pre-made. I live nearby and frequent TiVo often, it’s always been a great place to dine, this time I wasn’t impressed.
Worst experience I’ve had there. Food has really gone down Hill. We left half the food. Won’t go back.
We were advised repeatedly that our bottomless drinks were limited to 90 minutes. However each thing I ordered took 15-20 minutes to arrive and the churros took 45 minutes. They were raw on the inside. The server only returned twice to refill our “bottomless” drinks and the guacamole was a 13 dollar up charge. I paid $57 for 2 drinks, guacamole and chips, grilled peppers, and raw churros. Disappointing and unacceptable.
The server disappeared after taking our order- despite us clearly stating that we were only starting out with two dishes. We were never able to put in a drink order or order additional items besides one sushi roll and chicken wings.
The food received was medicore and the chicken wings took forever (the wrong item was delivered and it seemed the wings were only cooked after this error was made). No apology for the long wait. No one came to check on the quality of the food after delivering it.
It was reminiscent of a Chili's restaurant with most folks in the 20-25 yr old age range shouting while taking shots/sake bombs in the dining area.
Highly overrated and underwhelming restaurant.
Very nice and cozy atmosphere, lots of options even with the paired down menus b/c of COVID. Will be coming back
Last ate at Tico about 5 years ago. Restaurant experience has definitely gone down. Menu is much smaller than it used to be and much less interesting. Drinks (sangrias) were watery. Service fine- nothing special. Probably won't be coming back.
Server was great! Super attentive and very timely. It was very warm inside the restaurant. They had fans going to try to help but it wasn’t comfortable. Food was delicious for the unlimited brunch with the exception of a few items.
We had a bad experience here yesterday, the only good thing was the hostess, she was very accommodating, very nice and even though we were late for our reservation she held the table for us. As far as the food and service, Tico restaurant did not deliver, we were there for brunch and we didn’t get to order what we wanted from the menu, the server just decided to bring random items from the menu for the whole table that we didn’t request and besides that the food took forever to come out, when I asked the server for an specific food item from the menu he said the kitchen is closed and there was no more food, we were never given a last call warning before the kitchen closed to make sure if we wanted anything else. If you are paying for bottomless food and drinks but then you have to go somewhere else after because you are hungry is not a good thing. Disappointed on this place, my entire table was disappointed and I don’t think we will comeback here.
I got the burrito. It was pretty good, but DANG, how you gonna give me such a little plate to eat a messy burrito off of? The plate was much too small to eat the burrito with a fork and knife, but also too small to eat by hand because the burrito contents kept falling all over the table! Also, don't be fooled by the accompanying ranch sauce dish, that thing is only like a millimeter deep. How about give me a smaller, deeper container for the ranch and maybe leave me more room to eat my burrito? This place has gotta work on their plating, wth. My husband got the pork tacos and he said they were ok, but much too wet and drippy.
Great food and drinks but the restaurant was way too hot.
Brunch needs more choices
11 year old should not cost $29 for brunch
Terrible drinks. Our waiter was very rude and barely stopped by our table. Many times we found ourselves waiting for food and drink refills.
Will never come again.
Food was delicious. Environment was comfortable. Beautiful.
Such a great ambiance to ease into going back to dinning indoors/outdoors!
I love this spot for brunch, but the food on their Nama14 Sushi menu needs heavy improvement. I was sorely disappointed in my Cali Roll, Shumai, and Ramen. No flavor, seemed half cooked etc.
We where a little surprised at the limited menu on the Tico side but Nama and the service made uo for that! Really great lunch....thx
Going away gathering!
The greeter was rude and started the brunch experience off on the wrong note! My party was super excited to try this place out, but the whole time all we could talk about was how our first impressions was and would we come back.
