service was a little slow. 45 minutes for our appetizer to arrive. the food was delicious. everyone was working hard. might have been a busier than anticipated night. we enjoyed everything.
You can't speak in private. tables are so close. I heard every word being said by people to my left and my right.
The food is delicious! We will be back very soon!
Great service, as usual, and great cocktails
and thankfully no going overboard with Valentine's day decor
The buffalo cauliflower is very good. Their burger is equally delicious
Burger was excellent! Service was goid. Had a nice business meal and felt at home. Great ambiance.
Excellent establishment! 👌
Very good food and drinks. We both had the burger, which was highly recommended by friends. We are not disappointed.
Food was delicious especially the brussel sprouts appetizer and the salmon entree
Great restaurant. Our new "go to" spot for dinner and drinks ... and the BARTENDERS ARE FANTASTIC!
The menu is relatively small. The items on it are very good however.
We have been here before and the food and drinks are great! However, I don't recommend the Ahi Tuna Sashimi starter. The chilled soba noodles tasted pungent and fishy and did not compliment well with the pear and permission aspect of the dish. We will definitely be back as the service and food overall is really good.
The food was delicious. We had the gnocchi and the burger. Both were excellent. Great cocktails too. Can’t wait to go back!
Had a wonderful time. Don’t be worried about sitting outside. It was way less noisy than inside, and the heaters kept it toasty. And the wait staff was very attentive. Great place...we’ll be back.
I know that the word "Salt" is in the name of this restaurant but they are taking it too seriously. I have tried almost everything on the menu and each dish is way too salty! They ONLY thing that is so unbelievably good that we come back for repeatedly is the Buffalo Fried Cauliflower. That dish is amazing and they do a great job with it. On the other hand, the noise level is way too loud, drinks are just okay, and the substitution allowances are two thumbs down. For reference, I wanted to switch out the munster cheese on the burger with the goat cheese that is on the brussel sprouts and they wouldn't let me. So I had a dry and salty burger. The fries are also just okay.
In regards to the noise level, they need to turn their ambiance music down. I am 26 years old and couldn't hear my fiance across the table.
My husband and I had a wonderful evening at Timber and Salt. The food and service were exceptional. We are already planning a second date there. The Butternut Squash soup and gnocchi were amazing!
After movie dinner. Was a bit cold inside. Ordered 2 burgers med rare. One was over cooked but tasty.
We tried Timber & Salt after a movie as it’s conveniently located right down the street. It was a perfect place for the six of us. The menu was varied so everyone found something. Those of us who weren’t as hungry, had a smaller meal while the others were able to order a dinner entree. Service was efficient and friendly. We’ll definitely go back. If you haven’t tried Timber & Salt, do so! You won’t be disappointed.
Excellent food and very unique wine list.
We will be back. At first we were disappointed in the rather limited menu for both food and wine (1 chardonnay for example) but the quality and preparation of both entrees was excellent (salmon and fried chicken). Perhaps the menu changes regularly, I didn't think to ask. Our server was very personable and checked in with us several times. The bread pudding was served in a block that was crispy on every side, which was a very nice way to present it since it offers much contrast to the soft center. The accompaniments to the dessert were also of very good quality. No espresso but the pressed coffee is of good quality - be aware that the full pot would easily serve 4-6 people. The 2 of us should have taken the half order. All in all, the quality of everything was far above what we had anticipated and we had a very pleasant experience.
Great food and ambiance. Took about 15 minutes to be seated after our reservation time.
When making reservations with open table you are given tables near kitchen .. huge hit on ambience.
Cocktails are creative. Healthy food options limited ... even cauliflower was deep friend. Limited menu options.
Good food, terrible, inattentive service.
Food was very salty!
The service was great and the menu diverse. I ordered the salad with trout, which I was disappointed in. While the flavors were tasty, the amount of fish was almost nonexistent. For the price, I expected at least 1/2 of a trout. My friend had the fried chicken, which he enjoyed and the portion was decent. We also shared the bread pudding, which was delicious. Overall, while we enjoyed our dinner, we found it to be overpriced.
Though a limited and frankly trendy menu each item was prepped well. Good service - attentive and timely. Menu options are somewhat limited for vegetarian/vegan and the options are similar to so many other places lately. Good beer and bar selection. Outside was lovely and on a nice warm evening a perfect spot for people watching. We selected it pre concert at the Fox so proximity to theater and parking is a huge bonus.
Very intimate setting. The buffalo cauliflower & sausage w/ pretzel were both pretty good, and the trout salad was delicious and filling. My glass of Sauvignon Blanc was tasty and reasonably price. The gnocchi was disappointing- texture was off, kind of mushy. Service is a 5 bc our server was efficient and friendly and the host graciously offered to move us to a quieter table for dessert when a large and loud party were seated near us that clearly hadn't communicated an accurate # of people when seared.
The food was great and our server was good. The only nit pick is that they did not acknowledge our anniversary even though I selected/mentioned it in the open table reservation.
Not a big deal but it would have made my wife feel even more special, which is why I thought they asked when making the reservation...
Nothing to write home about. This was an easy place to go before catching a movie. The food sounded great on the menu, and it was, we filled our stomachs! We loved the snack orders and main dishes, but I feel like the food menu was limited, but especially with the drink menu. While they have an open bar and variety across the different types of drinks on the menu (cocktails, wine, beer), I found the cocktails really lacked in variety. Only a handful of cocktails options all used spirits like whiskey a base. That's not really great for the lady, unless that's her thing. Good for me :). We ended up using the open bar and ordered our own favorites. I'm not sure why people are saying "Go here because of the drinks!", that's the area I think Timber & Salt needs more work.
Had a wonderful time on a date night, great food and service 👌
Food was good but waitstaff seemed in a hurry.
Some dishes were better than others, but overall very tasty food and very fun place. The buffalo cauliflower, lamb meatballs and steak were delicious. We didn't try the drinks, but they looked good. Would definitely come back, especially for happy hour!
We have been to Timber we ended up with 3 waiters/waitresses overall. Each course was really late and the food was way under seasoned. Strange, because they weren’t that busy on an early Friday night. They usually have innovative offerings but, the execution was a let down. It may be a new team or just a bad night ...we’ll try again with fingers crossed.
Ordered a plain hamburger Med rare with just mayo and ketchup. They seemed stunned at this and didn’t know if they had any ketchup. They did but the hamburger was med well and tasteless. We also had a summer salad which was actually good. The menu is limited. This seems to mostly be a bar with some
One of the best Bay Area restaurants we've been to. Creative, innovative cuisine, friendly servers, prompt kitchen staff and dedicated owners make this a MUST repeat restaurant for me and my family. Prices are very reasonable and the food was VERY good!
The waitress could not remember the order. The waiter was confusing orders. Service was really bad this time. Previously we did not have this problem.
They accommodated our growing party from 8 to 18 with more courtesy then we likely deserved. This was a fantastic experience in general great food, great drinks, great staff!
Great food, great service, nice selection on adult beverages. I *only* come to Timber and Salt when I can get outdoor seating -- inside, the ambient noise level is *deafening*. The acoustics are such that sound is amplified and it it is not possible to have a normal conversation over dinner -- we've had evenings where we were hoarse from trying to talk over dinner. Great place otherwise, wish the management would invest in some acoustic dampening.
Hostess/Manager was amazing. So accommodating and really went out of her way to sort out our reservation. Cocktails are frantastic.
We've been before but the last time - awful experience. They were understaffed, which i can understand, but the staff were just rude. I thanked folks that brought our drinks over and they didnt even acknowledge me. My food had a long strand of blonde hair in it and NOT ONCE did anyone ask us how our food was. Our server dissapered and we had to repeatedly ask for our check. The noise level was unbelievably high. A horrible place to bring kids (ours are 10 year old twins, so not toddlers).
