Tisza Bistro and Bar
Great food and good value, but not so great ambiance.
Dinner following a rescheduled wine event...we took home the equivalent of a serving of the jaggerschnitzel, and will enjoy it at home tonight! We discovered this restaurant when it was fairly new...after the previous large fires. We are very happy that the word is out, and they are doing so well.
JUST OK.....Being of German decent and from Chicago, the home of some great German food, I was very disappointed with Tisza. The food is ok but not anything I would go out of my way to have again. The website did not reflect the actual menu once we got to the restaurant. The service was very inconsistent and varied greatly depending of the staff person with some being very good and others not good at all, not welcoming and friendly. Don't plan to go again.
The wait staff was very attentive throughout, especially our main waitress. She brought the chef over to meet us. He was very cordial and friendly. He made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant. The food was delightfully displayedI and very tasteful. It was a delightful evening. It has become I favorite Restaurant for us. We will return many times.
The presentation of each dish is outstanding. The food was authentic European. I would recommend Tisza for lunch or dinner. The schnitzels are delicious.
I've eaten here before and it was very good, but tonight the Thanksgiving experience was disappointing. Our waiter continually brought our wine pairings as we were finishing the course they went with and the turkey entree was coolish. When I asked for a decaf coffee the waiter said he didn't have decaf coffee but he had decaf latte (??). I explained to him that he can make an Americano by adding hot water to an espresso shot. The meal with wine pairings cost $100 per person, and came to $250 with tax and tip for two people. For that kind of money I expect better.
A hidden gem in Windsor. Beautiful presentation and great food.
Entrees were very good. We especially liked the option of German food. The craft cocktail menu caught our interest; creative and tasty. The noise level was relatively quiet, which we really appreciated.
Great food and service and nice quiet uncrowded restaurant. My only issue was the restaurant is in a holiday inn, but other than that great restaurant
Hostess incredible. Hungarian red wine interesting. Short ribs outstanding.
Very diverse menu.
Excellent service and food
Good food but the place is a hotel bar and felt like it. TVs everywhere and very noisy. Maybe the tables in the back are a bit nicer but for the price of the meal, the experience left something to be desired.
Unlikely location on the ground floor of a Holiday Inn; modern, hard-surfaced, functional room; friendly servers; passable wine list. The menu is a fusion of California inventions, French-Italian traditions and Asian accents. Some of it really works, e.g., roasted calamari and potato disks, both cut in small pieces, served with a combination of yogurt and crispy (!) lentils. Definitely worth another visit.
The chef and his staff are GREAT love this restaurant!
Great food and if your AF the bar tender makes amazing mocktails. The food was perfectly cooked
Holy God! I had a new dish, Jagerschnitzel, and thought I might cry it was so good! SO GOOD! The staff here are very pleasant and professional. Thank you for opening this wonderful place in Windsor!
After the Kincade fire we wanted to support a local restaurant. We have always liked Tisza, but I think we went back too soon after the fire. The service was spot on, but the food wasn't up to the regular standards.
Service is friendly and the food? Wow! Fresh and colorful and plated and tastes incredible!
Checked out reviews and everything was positive. Checked out the menu, so many things I wanted to try. I went and was so damn impressed we returned for an encore the next night. We had a total of 5 different entrees, 3 desserts, 4 starters....every 1 a home run. Recommend to anybody, anytime!
Suprisingly good restaurant for the small town of Windsor. The Chef provided creative twists on some old standards that for the most part were successful.
Service was exceptional as always. Food was excellent always.
What a pleasant surprise. Don’t be misled by the pedestrian surroundings of a Holiday Inn, Tisza is a very good culinary option The food was creative, delicious, and beautifully prepared.
We enjoyed our lunch so much. Very clean great server We will be back soon!!
Our fourth visit to Tisza. Loved it as much as the first. Great ambience, food, service.
Food and service was outstanding!
We were in the area for several days visiting wineries. Ate at several nice places, but Tisza was by far the best. Amazing food and great customer service. Wished we lived closer so I could visit more frequently.
Excellent food; friendly staff; good value. Ambiance would be better if the dining room did not look out onto a busy road.
Don’t let the Holiday Inn, where this restaurant is located, fool you. This is an outstanding place, in par with any decent bostro in San Francisco, but a fraction of the price. Loved the deconstructed crab Louie, Hamachi crudo, diver scallops to die for, and the lamb osso bucco. Wine list os limited but decent & decently priced.
Tisza is awesome! The food, service, and ambiance are all great here and it’s one of our new favorite spots. Everything on the menu is good but our favorite dish is Chef Krisztian’s special, his Hungarian Goulash!
Wonderful food as usual and we love our waitress Jena she is on top of things, never misses a beat and has a great sense of humor! She’s been our waitress twice now and Rene our name from the first time!
Heard wonderful things about Tisza ~ had a great experience and will return again soon.
Creative and tasty menu, kind and accommodating servers, beverages and food served in timely manner.
Excellent food. Have been to Tisza twice. Will go again.
Excellent menu & food. They offer unique items that are perfect for date night or special occasion
We loved EVERYTHING about the restaurant except the noise!!! We had to shout to each other to talk and hear. That’s a big deal to the over 60 . It’s the main reason we don’t go to sweet peas and the new brewery in town, been there and it’s the same, please do something about it as we loved the place.
One in our party of four has medical limitations regarding what she can eat, and the waitress and kitchen were so warmly accommodating and beautifully creative. Other than the room temp a bit chilly on a hot summer evening, we had a superb meal and dining experience. Thank you, we all will be back, and refer others!
Great dinner. Everything we had was delicious! The wait staff was attentive and pleasant.
Limited menu of German, Hungarian and American specialties. The food is superb. Ambiance ok. Better when it’s not crowded. The wait staff is hard working and very attentive. Highly recommended.
Excellent as usual! You can count on quality every single time
Very good as usual. Artichoke is outstanding. Filet of sole great. Wife loved the scallops. Tomoato bisque soup was too salty for my taste. Overall, another great meal at Tisza
