Tocqueville

The tasting menu was spectacular. My guest was a lovely young man who enjoyed his first tasting menu. We had a splendid time trying the eight courses and comparing our reactions to the presentation, flavors, and textures. The service was attentive and pleasant, but never overwhelming. And the room was beautiful and filled with colorful, lively paintings. All told, a delightful evening that we will remember for years.

It is always a treat to dine at this restaurant and to experience the chef's creativity and excellence in preparation, ingredients and execution, and the staff's impeccable service. The only negative in the entire evening was the music, the quality of which is far below the dining experience and is played at a volume that was both intrusive and, over the course of the dinner, annoying.

I chose this restaurant to propose to my fiancé. The staff and manager were both very accommodating and made it a very special night. The filet mignon was amazing, perfectly cooked medium, cut like butter. It was a special night and Tocqueville gets my business again in the future.

Bruno and new staff were wonderful.
The place has done a wonderful upgrade to the interior but service and food remain too notch. Always enjoy our visits.

We had a delightful evening. The service was both very professional and friendly. The food was imaginative, but not gimmicky. The room is very tasteful and pretty and good for quiet, relaxed conversation.

I live in Chicago and come to Toqueville about 1x a year, often to celebrate a special occasion. Everything was very good, as usual. The waitstaff is knowledgeable and unpretentious.

After dining yesterday evening in Tocqeville, I can honestly say that I was blown away. So much so that I was lost for words after.

Upon entering I was greeted by the host and proceeded to sit at the bar. The bartender, Johan presented with with an exquisite cocktail menu and both drinks I ordered were fantasticly well balanced while appropriately priced!

The host offered a choice of tables in a beautiful dining room. My captain MD was the cutest and most wonderful in walking me through the menu and helping me select my meal. I ordered the risotto for starter and sea bass as my main. The food was delivered by this wonderful Irish gentleman named Peter, the service I received from him is really the best I've had in many moons and set the standard so high right from the off. If only all the service in every restaurant could be as good as it was from him, the world would be a better place! But really aside from that, every interaction I had with other staff members was exquisite, credit to them!

I was very impressed by the food and speed of service. I feel that I have said enough and anyone that has doubts about whether Tocqueville is the right opinion, I can confirm you will not be disappointed. Overall a truly breathtaking dinner and for sure I will be returning. Many thanks Tocqueville!

Very expensive, but for a transcendent foodie experience, it's worth every penny.

I chose this restaurant based on the reviews and it being a quieter place. To be fair, it was fairly quiet given the very busy and noisy area it is in. The food was disappointing and very overpriced for what it was. Service was good but fumbling at times, like being shown to the wrong table and being told that my guest had arrived when she had not.

We are native New Yorkers and have been coming to Tocqueville ever since it opened. Last night was our first visit back since they had renovations done over the summer and it is even more vibrant, delicious and enjoyable then before. It is quite refreshing to enter a restaurant in NYC and have it meet your expectations. Tocqueville exceeds that! The staff is always welcoming, gracious and makes us feel like royalty. Eight-Course Tasting menu, and never once did we ever feel rushed. Outstanding personalized service combined with incredible food. This was not not just a meal for us, but a memorable experience. Hands down, the best dining experience we have ever had in NYC.

My friend found this place and it surprised both of us with the food and service for this first time of our visit! We had a couple of drinks at the bar before dinner. The forest and New Fashion were coming together with the little cheese bread and my friend loved it so much. What surprised me was when I go to the restroom, the hostess was opening the door waiting for me already! She is super friendly. Our captain Miguel suggested the signature dish from their restaurant. We had scallops with foie gras and we just enjoyed this amazing night! Will come back!

I’ve been dinning at Tocqueville for about 3 yrs, the food and service is always been great. The renovation is fantastic, cozy modern looking.

I always hangout to the bar before sitting to my table, I feel so relax and chill, chatting with the bartender, managers and staff makes me feel comfortable, their just amazing. Oh! And speaking to their special cocktails, I can’t complain, So worth trying!

I always start with their signature dish which is the Sea urchin carbonara, remarkable! The complexity of the sea urchin and the butter sauce is just amazing, They also have the gritz with parmesan, house cured veal bacon and arrocana sunny side-up egg, again, can’t complain, So delicious! For the entree I must say that everything is exquisite! Always giving me the hard time to choose on the menu. Desserts are fantastic! From presentation to taste! So tempting!

Overall! This restaurant is always been top of my lists not just in New York but worldwide! Kudos to the Team!

Absolutely amazing diner! The service and especially the wine service by the Somm Bruno was very knowledgeable and outstanding, providing perfect pairings with outside of the box wines. Great experience

Splendid in all ways.

Tocqueville has always been me and my husband’s favourite! This is the first time for us to dine here after they do the renovation and we love the new style. We tried a bit new things from the menu and the sphere just became our new favourite. The staffs are nice and friendly as always, our captain MD provided great service! Thanks to the sommelier Bruno, we have tried an amazing wine from Greece. Will come back for our private event soon!

Food was really really good. We did the a la carte and tried a few different dishes of appetizers, entrees, desserts, and pretty much everything was excellent. The service was also really friendly and welcoming. Loved it and highly recommend it!

This has always been a favorite of ours, but either there is a new chef or it has simply lost its way. Will not return.

Table of 4 had 4 apps, 4 entrees and 4 desserts and all the food was 10 out of 10 on the deliciousness scale. Well prepared, well proportioned and well paced dinner. The cocktails were excellent too. Great evening.

Restaurant's food is not all it should be at the prices it charges. Essentially the place is grossly overpriced. Yu can get a respectable but not at all outstanding dinner with the advantage of beautiful room which is sufficiently quiet so that one can enjoy a conversation at your own table and not everyone else's table.

Having moved West I had not been to the restaurant in several years. The experience of this visit lived up to all the memories of previous years. Superb menu, beautifully prepared and presented, smooth service, and wonderful choices of wine to fit the food. A sophisticated place !

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants but I probably won't be coming here after the poor service I received last time. From the reservation to the service to the food:. NOT good. They couldn't find the reservation at first (the hostess seemed really lost and mistook me for someone else), the food was mediocre at best, we weren't offered any bread while the table next to us were served this cheese bread, the server was snooty and aloof and made us feel like we were an inconvenience. It was a really lousy evening. My friend was unimpressed so we left immediately after the main course was finished. I don't know what happened, as I've been here many times before. But this left such a bad impression that I don't think I'll be coming back.

As always a refined dining experience where each course was a culinary delight and the wine selection complimented every dish perfectly. The service was exceptional - reserved and attentive, somehow knowing what we wanted befor we asked for it. Wonderful and we can’t wait for the next time.

We had the 6 course prefix with wine pairing. Sometimes we had the food before the wine and another course we finished the wine before the food came. For the price, the service needs to be better.
Thought, will say the food was amazing.
