Trapeze Restaurant - Burlingame
The restaurant was good. We came here to celebrate my birthday. Every year we choose a different restaurant. Everything was good except for the waiter that didn’t seem that social. We were all expecting better service. The restaurant was clean and hospitable and the food was reasonably priced
Great service and delicious lamb chop paella and lava cake!!
We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with delicious food and excellent service.
We enjoyed our meal. Veal Piccata and poached halibut were top notch. Underwhelmed by the beet salad. A pretty room was noisier than expected. It was our first time at Trapeze. We'll be back.
Their food is consistently prepared well and menu has good variety. A great spot for families too. The space doesn’t get too loud and you can choose to do outdoor seating.
Just met some people for lunch...nice menu, good food good location
We enjoyed everything about the restaurant. It was not too big, and we had a seat by the window. The service was great.
We had the bone marrow for our appetizer. The problem with it was that there was not enough.
The problem with our mean -- I had the lamb shank and my wife had the ribeye -- was that there was too much. Of course, we took the remainder of our meal home.
And the bread pudding needed one more scoop of ice cream.
Needless to say, we had a fabulous time. We hope to be back in the next couple of months.
We both shared a delicious Caesar Salad, and each ordered the Petrale Sole with Risotto plated on the side. It was delicious as was the b-day dessert and the cappuccino's which were served hot and delicious!
What a great surprise! This place was great!
Try it when you are in Burlingame and S. San Francisco.
We came to pre-celebrate dad’s birthday on 9/29/19. Very happy with a big table near the back so it was more private. Food was tasty and big portion. Service was great albeit a little slow when the place was full. I think they were short staff. Our dinner took two and half an hour because of the wait time (from 5:30pm to 8pm). Nevertheless, we all enjoyed the dishes and will be back. Thank you!
While I have lived in Scottsdale for 8 years, I knew Trapeze would be a culinary delight, full of warmth and charm and make my pals and i feel cherished. Grilled polenta is still to die for.
Great food, friendly staff and outstanding restaurant overall.
It was an ok place but nothing really special! Food was good not awesome. Service was adequate and ambiance ok.
food was good nice presentation but my fries arrived after I finished my dinner told the waiter to cancel but still brought and charged me. disappointed ☹️
Great find in Burlingame
The food was very good, more than a step above our expectations. This include my soap (split pea), my friends's salad (Caesar), my salmon entree cooked to perfection, and my friend's chicken very well prepared.
Freshly served food, Excellent choice of wines, Ubove and beyond Service from our server
Always a great place to eat.
I’ve been here a few times over the years and the food is consistently excellent. I had the filet mignon with gnocchi- delicious. The calamari as a starter was great, too. Light and crispy.
The restaurant has a classy, old school vibe that’s very comfortable. And it’s quiet enough to have a conversation with your dining mates!
TOO MUCH PEPPER ON THE MARINARA SAUCE FOR THE PASTA
You could only taste the pepper, too much; does not let you enjoy the rest of the flavors
Our son reccomended this little gem. He was right. We had lunch there on a Sunday afternoon. The service was prompt and excellent. the food was outstanding and less expensive than at many of the "better" restaurants. The room was quiet so that we could talk to our friend without shouting, which alone would earn this restaurant a couple of stars. We will return.
They refused our service becuause I had a service dog. We would never recommend this place to anyone and plan not to go back.
I'd been here at multiple time for various occasions. The service & food are always above average!
My husband ordered Filet Mignon and I ordered the hen, and both were overdone. Service was slow and the not super courteous
Great meal and outstanding service. The potato leek soup on the daily menu was truly delicious.
On a rainy Saturday evening, the restaurant was full with couples, friends, and families.
I really appreciated how they customized a meal for our 10-year-old. Great staff, excellent food and drinks.
Excellent service, fabulous ambiance, food delicious but Bloody Mary no taste, very passive. Will return for sure!!! Great location!
My wife, my grandson, and I had a very pleasant early evening at Trapeze. The restaurant has one big factor even before your arrival as it is across the street from a large parking lot. Burlingame can be difficult. The site looked like a ghost town when we entered at 5:45. We were warmly greeted, seated, and made comfortable. Appetizers, salads, and main entrees were all as described and more than tasty. Its accompanying bread which is not sourdough but especially different and excellent. It was a fine (early) evening; by the time we left, Trapeze had plenty of diners. Most folks don't have to cater to a young hungry eater as we did.
Great dinner on Easter. We enjoyed the delicious sea bass, salmon, and beet salad.
Service was perfect as always.
Noisy at times generous helpings
Great menu with something for everyone. Reasonable wine selection and nice ambience.
Trapeze can be outstanding with just a few tweaks. The portions are too big. Soup should be half of what is served. Salmon about half. Etc. Taste wise the ribs were fab. Pasta good but needs adjusting in seasoning. It was a busy Sat nite so noise was high & waiters busy but it was an evening enjoyed by 4 adults. I hope the chef(s) can make the adjustments because we like to take guests there. Thanks.
Fabulous dinner and delicious food! We had sea bass and lobster ravioli. The service is impeccable! We will return next time we’re in the area!
We were a large group of 8 enjoying a ladies night. The table and setting were beautiful. The drinks and appetizers went great. Our main courses left something to be desired. They brought out half our orders and then we waited 10 minutes for the second half of our group to be served. So our food went cold. The waiter didn’t check back with us to see if our orders were correct. The crab ciopinno had no crab. The rare lamb chops were cooked well done. The special paella was not seasoned well. With the large party and the amount of waiting, we all ate what we were served. But it was not the dining experience expected not the quality of food and service for the price we paid. There was a 20% gratuity added and sales tax applied on top of that (not the other way around). Dessert was very good. I’ve been there before and the food was excellent. My take is that their kitchen was not experienced enough to handle a large group and the wait staff was understaffed for a Saturday night. I would recommend for a small group, but definitely won’t be back for special occasions.
Trapeze is an intimate restaurant with a varied menu. Great tastes overall, fish did not seem the freshest however. The wine list is very high end and expensive for most diners. We were a large party of 7 on a Sat. night, and found the service a bit slow on the main courses. Had only one issue in that we had to send the filet steak back twice as they kept overcooking it, and we finally just gave up. Overall, I would still return to this restaurant and give them another chance
Long time since we were there but a forgotten gem
We had another great evening at Trapeze. My wife and I both had delicious dinners from the daily menu. She had the roasted chicken, and I had the sea bass.
Service was excellent as always.
I read all the 1&2-star reviews. Our experience did not match those . Service was attentive, food was delicious and charges reasonable.
Ad usual, pleasant wait staff, delicious specials menu!
Our new “GO TO” place!!
