I’m sorry! But I booked this place days in advance and anxiously anticipated the dinner. I could not have been more disappointed. We got to the restaurant and the lady who I assume was a host/manager asked us for our name and pointed at the table indicating “I set you up over there”. We looked at the menu and offered two apps and two entrees. Though the calamari was good, soggy fried zucchini was not what I expected to sit with my calamari. The rice balls were ok. Ordered the pork chop pizzaiola and the meat was so tough, raw tasting and the sauce was bland. Omg we couldn’t eat it. The eggplant was decent and if scaled separately would give it 6/10. The pasta was like rubber. Needless to say we lost our appetite and despite the server taking the entire pork chop dish back and throwing it out (I assume) she didn’t ask how it was. We paid the full check and left 20% tip, but that will be the first and last!
Good food. Enjoyed the ambiance and the service was great
This restaurant is consistent. We typically order a number of appetizers to fill the table and salad and dessert.
Staff is very friendly and engaging. Food was delicious. Layout is cozy.
The food is good but the service is very slow even when the restaurant is basically empty. They seem to prioritize take out orders over diners. I’ve been here many times but it’s not as good as it used to be.
The food was amazing as always!
My children love this place to celebrate their birthdays.
Excellent food and service. Will definitely return.
Best Italian restaurant I’ve been to in a while. We’ll be back!
This is our favorite restaurant in Princeton! The food is always good and the service is friendly. The prices are very reasonable. We go to Trattoria Proccacini at least once a month.
So friendly and food was delicious
Amazing food and great service! Very clean and social distancing is in place! Will definitely eat going back!
Wonderful experience for outdoor dining. The setup provides privacy from the sidewalk. Service was exceptional.
Delicious fresh Italian food that won’t break the bank ! Can’t wait to go again ;)
I thoroughly enjoyed dining at this restaurant their bruschetta is light and full of flavor and the chicken Marsala was delicious
My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner. We sat outside (covid!) and felt perfectly safe. Our server was attentive but not nudgy (that's what I like!). They went out of their way to make our evening enjoyable. We will most definitly be back!!
We had an excellent dinner outdoors on the patio. The menu is large, the food was wonderful, and the service very good. Only two other tables occupied at the time, between 6 and 7 on a Sunday evening, so distancing not a problem. A complimentary bottle of wine was included, as our bill exceeded $60.
Restaurant is great been there plenty times. However this time, I made a reservation on open table for 9:45 only to travel 40 mins to the restaurant and it was closed and open table made a mistake
Open table FAIL! Very disappointed!!
Alex our server was awesome. The outdoor patio was set up to respect social distancing protocols and the half wall and foliage added an element or privacy. The food was absolutely delicious. I almost never get dessert nut couldn’t resist the zeppolles- well worth it! We will definitely be back!
Sarah was a wonderful server! She was sweet, attentive, and had great recommendations! Will definitely be coming back!
Food was very good, although not spectacular. I realized they were serving outside and had just reopened recently - and they did a really good job of distancing with good service.
I would go back and try it again.
Meatball spaghetti, cooked al dente! My favorite from this place.
Always hits the spot. Not cheap for a neighborhood Italian restaurant but food there is always good.
Delicious!!!!
We had reservations for our family for my husband's Birthday on a Saturday night. It was early enough, so it wasn't super crowded. The reception asked if we had a preference for seating. We requested a booth; which wasn't a problem. The booth cushions were taped with silver masking tape to cover the ripped cushions. My husband sat on an uncomfortable coil. The décor was rustic and a little run down. There was no music playing. The kitchen pick up area was open to the dining room, so that conversations between the wait staff and kitchen were easily heard. Our waitress was super responsive and attentive. No complaints with the staff. There was no bread brought to our table, or any other table that we saw. We all ordered pasta entrees or chicken entrees. The portions were small and tasted quite bland. It was not worth the money we spent that evening. We won't be returning.
Cozy restaurant outside of directly downtown Princeton. Good selection for entrees. Meal was served at correct temperatures and promptly. DH ordered Veal Parm, kids shared a Four Cheese Pizza and I had Beet and Goat Cheese Salad. Salad didn't stint on beets and was dressed just right. Garlic Knots we shared were AMAZING. Unobtrusive but good service. Restaurant is loud, however. Party of 8 next to us made it necessary to raise our voices. Best for family or group dining with that level of noise. Not for a romantic evening out IMO.
Comfortable, low noise level, and good food and service, overall a good experience!
Waiter was not very attentive. He also was not very aware of what was on the specials menu.
Very good casual Italian dining. There food was good, as was the service. BYOB too!
What a gem! We have dined in Princeton many times, but never found this place before. It's just a few blocks north of the main center of town, and it is justifiably a very popular restaurant! The service was perfect, the appetizer and pasta dishes we had were delicious, and you have to try the unique zeppolis for dessert - yum!! There was a big table of about 15 people right behind us so it was a little loud, but that is probably not the norm. It's a BYO, which helps keep the price down, but overall it's really well-priced and we will be back!
we dine there about once per month and we love it. always a pleasant time.
excellent food, small but quiet, and BYOB is a plus making it affordable. lots of parking available which is huge plus too
Spent Christmas Eve dinner here, it was our first time. Food was amazing and service to our family was great! We will def be back!
Food was very good. Service was also very good but a bit overpriced for the size of each meal.
Love it. Friendly hometown place.
Very nice place, with good pizza and excellent canolli.
Reservation worked perfectly and the zero dollars BYOB policy is great.
A lovely evening, good service, terrific fresh and tasty food. Highly recommend.
1st time eating here and very pleased with the food, service and value. Would definitely go back and try different dishes.
The pasta fazool soup is amazing - really tasted like my family's recipe. I had a lovely buratta and fig sauce with arugula salad that was spectacular!
Best Italian food in the Princeton (and surrounding) area by far. The authentic family recipes makes every dish seem like you are in the Procaccini kitchen in Italy! Starts out with a warm welcome and excellent service follows. Bravo!
John always makes you feel welcome and the food is always superb.
A very casual atmosphere but the food is always fantastic!
