    Not a terrific day at True Food. Two of us were told that the dishes we wanted were sold out, so we had to choose other entrées. The bathroom was really filthy— with no toilet paper

    I love the farm to table concept of this restaurant! And I’d always picked this restaurant over any other restaurant for casual dining, but the service has always been disappointing! Specially the last two times in their Walnut Creek location. I know waiting tables is hard job , so I always try to be understanding, but our waiter was so rude! We waited almost an hour for our food, and I’m not exaggerating, and no one checked in for a good 40 minutes, cause we needed cutlery for everyone , not sure why there were none at our table! I love the food but don’t think will go back again!

    Loud inside. Appetizers are $15+ for small portions. Had to ask for small plates for the apps. Drinks came at all different times. I ordered water that was never refilled. Pizza is good. The seasonal mushroom pizza is amazing. I prefer that over the seasonal butternut squash pizza. Spent about $115 for three people without alcohol.

    Terrific and tasty meals. Went with a friend, we shared two entrees, the Wild caught Tuna Poke, and the Spicey Panang curry bowl - we added shrimp to the curry which was a good call. Super delicious. Server was great, always had a smile and worked quickly and efficiently. Love their food, every bite is filled with delicious and fresh flavors.

    Our Server, Steven was amazing as usual. He always greets us with a smile and always has a positive attitude whenever he serves us. However, we would like to give some feedback regarding M.J. My wife tasted her soup and wanted some salt & pepper. M.J was walking by our table and my wife asked her if she could bring us some salt & pepper. She agreed to do so, however she never brought them to our table. She passed our table a few times afterwards, but never acknowledged us again. I understand she was not our server, but it’s common courtesy if someone asks for something as simple as salt& l pepper, it shouldn’t be a big deal.

    The food was cold by the time it reached our table. The waitress spent most of her time talking with your staff instead of checking on us or picking up our food from the kitchen when it was still warm.

    True Food used to be great. The food has really deteriorated. I got the ancient grains bowl but it was not hot. A precooked sliced chicken breast was tossed on top and was not seasoned. The onions were not charred but were just cooked. It was clear that the cook just assembled the dish with no thought. No flavor and lukewarm. Also, we ordered lemonade. The first glass was excellent but the second and third glass we ordered for the table were watery and terrible. I am not sure why it is so inconsistent.

    Value is not here anymore. A salad with added protein can add up to around $30 for lunch. All my friends said True Food is over priced… It is a lot easier to get a table now than before. It used to be packed everyday….

    Love True Food Kitchen with their creative seasonal menus, however, that being said, the hostess seemed to be behind their "A game", as we had noted we were celebrating a birthday and requested a quiet corner table on the reservation, apparently there were none, however, Konner our server "saved the day". Friendly, professional, attention to details, he had our drinks and appetizer out immediately. We started with the endaname guacamole (who knew beans could be so tasty) which was fresh and well seasoned. One of our party had the Mexican vegan bowl which composed mostly of boring rice and beans, while others had the ancient grains bowl. I ordered the vegan mushroom/beet burger, came with two thin, a tad oily patties but nicely put together with the usual burger fixings served with a tangy kale salad. Hands down, the warm, flourless chocolate cake served with vanilla vegan ice-cream was an all round winner - not to be missed! We definitely will be back to try out more of their autumn specials.

    Our waitress/and another person in the waitstaff were very unfriendly,barely said hello did not take time to listen to order resulting in getting avo toast instead of salmon toast slammed silverware into table The manager was very sweet and friendly fixed order asap

    Less than usual experience, due to the crowded seating, and rather uncomfortable placement of our "for two" table. Felt like we were in an aisle, and it was not even safe feeling to place my purse on the back of my chair (for fear that someone passing by might take it. Had to hold my purse on my lap and was simply not comfortalbe the whole time. Had made reservations ahead of time for a monday and was not that impressed with my GF pizza. Kale salad (always good). I suspect the quality was not as good as comparing it with my frequenting the Palo Also restaurant.

    Nice heated patio and nice menu. Food is really really salty — almost inedible. It’s also pricey for the quality. Service was fine except we had to ask for a drink menu, napkins and silverware after the food arrived.

    I have no idea why this restaurant got that many stars. The service was horrible. The waiter was busy chatting with his friends and didn’t take our order for over 22 mins. Then I got my appetizers last lol when my meal was done. I got the soup and the soup tasted horrible and it was microwaved. It was still cold in the middle. Overall this place is not worth it.

    This was the first ever disappointing experience at TrueFoods which has been a favorite of mine. The server was quite pleasant but not very knowledgeable about food. Our major disappointment was with a starter that was called Heirloom Tomato and Watermelon Salad which in fact had no Heirloom tomatoes. Rather it had "cherry tomatoes" with a rather tough skin. The server checked with the kitchen and indeed there has been a problem with getting heirlooms. (BTW we find them regularly at our farmers' market -- this is California after all) Most disturbing was that this was not indicated on the menu, nor by the server when we ordered, there was not apology, nor was there any consideration on the bill. Not up to par for TrueFoods!

    This was my first visit. Though I loved the flourless quiche (the flavors were wonderful), the eggs were undercooked and runny in the center. I ordered another one, and it was the same. So I ate about 3/4 and left the rest. Also, we wanted to order the lemon ricotta muffins, and they were out when we came @11am. Also out of the cinammon ones.
