Everything was excellent - we met our daughter and her partner who live in MA for dinner. This was done as a last-minute alternative to our original plans of dinner and a show in Boston. Was a little sad to see how quiet things were in light of the current state of affairs but perhaps it made it that much more special to get together.
Our server was curt & discourteous after i asked about specific liqueurs. It was clear she was not interested in serving individual desires
A bit noisy
Our server could have been more attentive
Prices are okay
Food was fresh
We were sat in the lounge area at a high top table which I thought was strange as we had reservations. We were greeted by our server which we didn’t catch her name (mature woman). She was pleasant and gave us time to settle in our table. She asked if we preferred regular water or bottled which is nice.
She turned with the bottle and served us while telling us about the evening special which was a Filet with chive mashed potatoes, Demi, and tri-colored carrots with truffle butter over top. She did not mention the price.
Service was pleasant but nothing out of the ordinary. She was attentive and checked in with us through out our dining experience.
The food we ordered was tasty but again nothing special. When our entrees arrived which we both ordered the filet special, we cut into them as requested by our server and they were cooked perfectly. However; the plating was sloppy. Mashed potatoes had zero body and was quite loose and just spread out over the plate, Demi didn’t help the runny consistency either. Tri-color carrots were cut into plain disks or chunks and didn’t offer any eye appeal. For the price we paid for 2 specials that ran up as $96 so $48 approximately each. The plating was not at all thoughtful or deliberate, just seemed like food slapped onto the plate and a filet set over top.
The flavor of everything was delicious and cooked to a perfect Med rare. But the presentation fell short. Service was good and attentive. Atmosphere was as to be expected in the lounge area. Bathrooms were clean and stocked. Overall our experience was a good one and we will be back for another visit in the future.
Food quality was poor— food was cold and overcooked
Price was high for portion size
Service was good
Will not return
Pleasant waitstaff, good food and comfortable surroundings made for a pleasant get together for friends.
It’s always delicious, great atmosphere, diverse Italian menu, great app choices, large wine list. We will continue to go back as a favorite spot (both Burlington and Salem)
We had a great dinner. Our food was delicious and the service was very good. Highly recommended. Their pricing is a little high but overall it was a s great experience.
Wonderful, they came over to grate cheese and cook pasta in front of us. Amazing
Had a wonderful birthday dinner for my husband. Our server, Chris, was excellent. The food was great. It was a delightful evening from start to finish.
At our last visit to the Tuscan Kitchen we had a horrible experience. The management recognized it and gave us a gift certificate to return. We waited a few months and gave it another shot. While it was better this time, there were still multiple issues. The service was what I would expect at a franchise restaurant (Applebees, TGIF, etc) not an upscale establishment.
The waitress was nice and pleasant, but service was poor and the food was good, but over priced. We started the evening ordering a couple sodas, received a soda water that the waitress thought was Sprite/Sierra Mist (the soda machine needed to be "refilled"). We pointed this out to the waitress immediately, but it took nearly 20 minutes for the mistake to be fixed. We were promised bread and oil when we sat down, but it never arrived. We had to ask the server for the bread (again) when our appetizer arrived (kinda late at that point in time). I mentioned this to the server and she must have told the manager because he came over to talk to us. He did his best to make sure the rest of the evening went smoothly, and he did right by us by comping the appetizer and our dessert.
As far as ambiance goes, the three EMT's assisting a patron in the middle of the dining room did not make for good atmosphere.
I really enjoyed my dinner while at The Tuscan Kitchen. Food, service, and atmosphere were even better than expected. Certainly plan on returning, and thanking my friend for the recommendation.
The three of us had dinner and as always it was delicious. We were seated quickly, they had taken care of our wheelchair accessible request quickly and easily.
We all enjoyed dinner and dessert then walked over the the market to pick up macaroons, biscotti, and handmade pasta to bring home with us. We will definitely continue to frequent this restaurant.
Food was very good. About as good Italian as you can get anywhere — outside of Italy, of course! Would have liked to have seen a few more authentic Italian dishes such as a Sorrento gnocchi or perhaps a squid ink pasta or one with a nice North Italy white sauce or perhaps a fresh pesto pasta served with the catch of the day as in many Italian locales. Ricotta pie is also a classic dessert that would be a welcome addition.
It was a Monday early evening and the restaurant was fairly empty based on that alone we thought the service would be crisp. What we experienced was slow service and not very attentive. Our wait person did not even remember to bring our antipasti! We frequent the Tuscan Kitchen in Boston and the Salem NH establishment could learn a few lesson from them. After our meal we stopped over at the Tuscan store and the quality of the food needs to be looked at because it can not compete with the quality in Boston and doesn’t warrant the high prices charged.
Pasta way under cooked. Took so long to bring a new order that the rest of our party was finished eating. Crime brûlée dessert was like soup. Used to be great! Not anymore.
Too expensive for what it is. The food was very good however. We had a reservation at 8pm and had to wait until 8:20 to be seated.
Food took forever to come out but understandably it was a Saturday night on a long weekend. The waiter did the best he could. However, the raw oysters we ordered came out room temperature. Neither of us felt good the following day.
Server was excellent and given how jam packed this place was it, everything felt like it came out on time.
Tables were so packed in it took away from the ambiance, they needed more dividers. The food took 1.5 hours to arrive at our table. My gluten free ravioli tasted like something I could buy in the freezer aisle although the sauce it was in was quite tasty.
I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT MAYBE ON A WEEK DAY.
VERY BUSY AND VERY NOISY ON SATURDAYS.
Service was very slow. While we wanted to spend a while there so didn't mind waiting a while for food, waiting so long for the first drink was not ideal. Perhaps the waiter had been given more tables than they could handle. The drink on the menu online they said was not available though seemed odd its listed on your site online, and presumably something the bartender could make. Also out of the appetizer and desert we were looking forward to as well. But otherwise as always the food that they did have was good.
Once upon a time, Tuscan Kitchen offered one of the best dining experiences in New Hampshire. Those days are long gone. We went there on Saturday night with reservations; facility is worn down, waitstaff is tired and stretched thin, management non existent and the food was lousy. Save your money and go to Olive Garden.
The wait staff was just horrible. The food was good, however 2 meals were 1/2 cold. Just was not a good night there.
Normally we have great experiences at this restaurant. This night must have been an off night, it was crowded due to being Valentines weekend. It took an inordinate amount of time for our meals to come out, others that came after our party had been served before us and they were leaving before our meals came. When they did come they were lukewarm at best. One of our party returned their meal to have it heated up. We (a party of 4) didn't order anything unusual or off menu, they were just pasta dishes. Our waiter apologized for the delay claiming the kitchen was backed up (?). That didn't explain how the other tables nearby jumped ahead of us in the orders being worked on in the kitchen. I will go back because I do like this restaurant, it goes to show no one is perfect, it's just disappointing when things don't go right...
Been here several times bad service because of Valentine's day volume
My husband and I were out for a nice dinner as we celebrated Valentine’s Day. Our reservation was for 9:45, and they were able to sit us 25 minutes early. There were a lot of people there but our waiter did a great job checking in and letting us know where we were in line in regards to our food.
Everything was well organized and ran smoothly. I’m
Looking forward to going again.
But maybe not on Valentine's Day. They crowded way too many tables to close to one another. Food, as always, was great.
We always love Tuscan Kitchen. Great atmosphere, relaxing, always wonderful helpful service, food is delicious, business casual to more dressy (depending on your mood), and you never feel rushed. One of our favorite, special go to restaurants!
Had a nice Valentine's Day dinner. My only criticism is that the sirloin steak was a little bland and could have used more seasoning.
Arrived at the Tuscan Kitchen with my wife for Valentines evening. We were seated at a half table near the bar and the entrance to the bathroom. The table was so wobble each of us had to take turns holding it, while the other ate their food. Our server was great, she understood the menu and definitely explained the concept and the expectation of our dining experience. She also had a knack for checking in on us and keeping our evening moving at a pleasant pace. I am a third generation Italian and was not familiar with the type Italian cooking they are producing at the Tuscan Kitchen. Their sauces and overall cooking was so bland, i wasn't sure this was even an Italian restaurant. I have visited their shop and have found many items to enjoy and bring home to prepare for my family. This was my second visit to this restaurant and find no value in dining there again. Especially if you are planning on dropping a couple of hundred dollars for a meal.
Great food, great dinner, not crowded
Restaurant appears old and worn inside, food quality very good, but to high for very small amount on plate. Service was excellent. Burlington MA location far Superior to Salem NH location.
Rigatoni Bolognese was luke warm and dry with hardly any meat.
Fantastic meal, great waitress, but it got over crowded and noisy very quickly.
It’s a pretty dining room just like you would find in Tuscany
Open kitchen so you can watch the chefs, that’s fun
The sauce, meatballs just like my mother’s, can’t go wrong there
Delicious crusty bread with oil to start
And pretty tasty cannoli’s to end!
The atmosphere and staff were excellent. The food lacked flavor. The chicken parm was average.
The Caesar salad dressing was made with way too much anchovie and lemon juice. Waiter said he would remove from bill and never did.
The pasta dish i ordered was cold upon arrival. I added sausage to my meal and that was overcooked.
Normally I love Tuscan kitchen, but this particular experience was terrible.
We went for my sister's 40th birthday. It was quite loud, but that's not really the restaurant's fault. Service was painfully slow. We were a party of 5 and there were no special orders. It took over 45 minutes between placing the order and receiving our meals, and we only saw the waitress once in that time. Glasses were empty for a long time. None of us were particularly impressed with the food. I ordered the lobster ravioli and found it very ordinary. Mom and sister ordered chicken parm (at $27/pop!), which was not hot when it arrived. By the time the waitress came back to check on us, it was cold. There was no offer to make any concessions for this, so we ended up taking it home and reheating. Overall it was a big disappointment because I'd heard only great things. Won't be going back.
We went for our anniversary and our waitress Cheryl S. Made the evening spectacular & fun. The way she treated us was above and beyond just customer service...she made our entire experience special and we LOVED our time there. Thank you for making us feel like royalty 🙏💕
