A great place for brunch where we could make a reservation for a large group which was important.
Great food and great service. Pumpkin ravioli was excellent.
I absolutely love Uncommon Ground. The service is incredibly helpful and attentive. I had multiple people checking on me and my dinner partner, refilling our water glasses constantly and taking care of our every need. I love the warm ambiance and decor. And the food is always memorable. Everything is fresh, exquisitely prepared and scrumptious! The portions are always generous. We started with sweet potato fries with a sage goat cheese dipping sauce that was perfection and enough for 4 people! I had bacon wrapped meatloaf with Yukon gold mashies, rich and yummy gravy, and lemony dressed arugula for my main course. It was topped with crunchy breaded onions that were the perfect flavor and textural foil for the dish. For an hour, I felt incredibly happy and satisfied on all levels, and I left knowing I will be back very soon. If you want a memorable meal and overall incredible expense, make sure to visit Uncommon Ground in Edgewater!!
Food wasn't really good, sorry. The biscuits were good. Coffee/Tea was not hot or warm enough. Location and Restaurant Ambiance was good.
Tasty comfort food dominates the menu. The mulled wine was great for a blustery evening. Service was haphazard: there were three items on our bill that we had not ordered or received. The manager had no problem removing them, but the server should have caught it.
This is probably the 5th or 6th time I've been to Uncommon Ground. Every time I go, I expect it will be better but am disappointed. Yet I go again.
The menu is weird, especially for lunch. All the options seem the same or not very good. I've gone with groups and this seems to be a consensus opinion. There are certain menu items that have descriptions and some that don't.
The food is never very good. This visit was no exception. I sent my chili back because it wasn't hot. They brought me another barely warm bown of chili. After I finished eating the server came back and asked "was that any better than the first bowl?" which leads me to believe this isn't the first time she heard about cold soup.
The only reason the place stays in business is due to their "sustainability" which is respectable - if only they could make some good food from the fabulous ingredients. Instead, I'm just disappointed again.
food was great but the service was poor. It should not take 45 min to get breakfast.
Really cute restaurant with a fun atmosphere.
Food was great, but table was sticky, floor was dirty and service was extremely slow. Very surprising for a relatively quiet Sunday morning. Not sure the food was good enough to warrant going back.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Uncommon Ground. It was my first time there, so I don't know if it's typically crowded, but on the Tuesday evening we were there, it was quiet. We sat in the beer garden, which was lovely. The menu has a nice variety for both carnivores and vegetarians alike! Thumbs up.
Average food, mediocre service and above average prices. Great space and great patio.
This place was great. My wife and I got a private tour of the rooftop, organic garden. We then saw those fruits and veggies used in your meal. The food and drinks were amazing. The atmosphere was rustic with great artwork on display that can be purchased. Most nights there is live music. A great patio is out back too for those nice evenings. I would definitely recommend this place. I'll be a regular here!
Great evening eating al fresco. Generous portions, fun musician. And the roof top farm is not to be missed.
Michael is the best. As usual!!
I have come here many times and the food never disappoints. It is high quality food that always tastes fresh. I love knowing that ingredients come from their rooftop garden!
The service however has been mediocre at best the past few times I have been there. The servers do the bare minimum and weren’t as friendly as I was previously used to.
Awesome live music. Great food! Hope to be back soon!
Absolutely a wonderful evening with a special tour of the rooftop gardens!! Very very impressive on sustainability. Food was spectacular
Everything was great except the music they were playing outside was truly awful. Usually it’s pretty good but someone else must’ve gotten control that night.
All in all a great experience. The ambience and the outdoor patio is really really nice. Appropriate for a romantic evening, or for a family. it is easy to have conversation.
The servings are large and delicious. Great appetizers and drinks. The Mediterranean food is surprisingly good. Compliments to the chef.
One of my favorite go to places, farm to table and delicious.
Good meal and service at outdoor seating but music (performer) was a bit too loud for easy conversation. Still a great evening with friends and always recommend.
Cute restaurant. We are outside. Very relaxed and casual. Great beer, fun food. We were disappointed with the pretzel appetizer because they were hard. Otherwise everything was very good!
After wanting to try this restaurant it was very disappointing. The food was bland the service was fair air conditioning was out and they would not turn the fans on because they were shaky. Very warm inside.
Always Great Experience At Uncommon Ground In Edgewater!
AMAZING! Food and service both fantastic! And the roof top farm? Wow! Staff was so nice and gave us a great tour. I highly recommend!!!
COOL AND DELISH! This is one of my favorite restaurants. They put an emphasis on healthy delicious fresh food. They grow some of it themselves and it’s organic too. The Mediterranean chicken dish is delicious. The helpings are large and the desserts are sublime. The ambience is casual but done with very nice taste and a full neighborhood feel. The outside dining experience is absolutely fantastic. This is a place where you can really enjoy socializing and eating with your friends in a relaxed casual atmosphere. Love love love this place.
Great little find of a restaurant near Loyola with great ambiance in super cute décor. Fabulous food and good service.
Delicious local food prepared creatively and served in a rustic atmosphere with excellent service.
Overall good but to take it to another level more seasonings are needed - pretty overall bland but good.
Michael is always fabulous - as is the food.
The ambiance and music was excellent. The Flank Steak was flavorful and we'll proportioned. However; my friend had the Chicken and it was bland with minimal flavor. The Drinks were great too.
Great local place with tasty food and beverages, plus a super cool organic farm on the roof.
("Food" rating of "Very Good" is based on prior experience; did not stay and dine).
When booking in OpenTable, the description made it explicit that bookings made through the site were for general dining, not live performance space.
When my partner and I showed up and identified ourselves for purpose of filling our reservation, the greeter -- despite there being more than adequate seating -- said something to the effect of "We're doing communal seating, okay?" -- and, without waiting for a response, led us past the area with plenty of open seating into a crowded back room with an ongoing performance, squeezing us between another couple and a wall.
My partner -- being uncomfortable in crowded and noisy spaces in the best of circumstances -- began experiencing a panic attack. We stepped back to the greeting area and were re-seated on request, but ended up leaving without placing an order.
More care and attention pre-seating would hopefully have resulted in an entirely different experience.
Sunday brunch - they were just pretty disorganized. Think it was just an off day
Menu change is underwhelming. Service cant keep up during summer rush.
Loved the online menu. In person menu was about 1/3 of online. Very disappointing. Ambience-great. Service-great. Food-okay. Menu- disappointing.
Good, reasonably healthful food. Prices as expected. Had a group of 7 on Father's Day, so food was slow to come out. But tasty when it arrived.
It would have been better to be outside, but the service was terribly slow and the acoustics inside were terrible for a group of 7. We waited forever for our food. Everything on the menu looked good, but nobody left raving. The cranberry juice was disgusting.
Great place to enjoy food with friends! Healthful and delicious!
