The food takes a while to be ready but is worth it

Great food as always - lovely to be back. The mushroom pie and mash was superb!

So disappointing. Came here for bunch only to be told they didn’t have have any tofu, mushrooms or sausage. We were able to get the vertigo benedict but the next person after us was told they were then sold out of that as well.

We also overheard them tell another table they also weren’t serving any sandwiches.

After we were able to order something they had in stock it took over 40 minutes to get the food. The lotus pancakes were good but the vertigo benedict was very small, I guess as they were running out it food!

All in all a very poor experience and I wouldn’t be back.

Good range on menu. Relaxed dining with definite grown up meals (as opposed to diner style). Flavoursome & generous portions. Quite small premises so your snug up with other diners & aware of their conversation, which is Ok if everyone’s behaving nicely, you’re a social body & into eaves dropping! Staff were friendly, helpful & didn’t pester, thank you. Pre Theatre deal is excellent value & the accompanying House Red was surprisingly good. Hope to make a repeat visit soon.

Have been there twice now. Great little place. Top quality vegan food and good service.

Also, a rarity now... an eatery where you don't feel like you're in a disco due to loud music.

Whilst the food service and value were excellent your thoughts should be with the front door from the street.
It was cold and wet on the evening we chose to dine with you, our seat was close to the door, every time someone approached the door it opened via a movement sensor.
There isn’t a vestibule or double door present, so when it’s open the whole restaurant feels the cold air rushing in.
This problem is compounded when people arrive at the restaurant, there isn’t a clear indication as to where guests should stand, given it was raining on that evening, guests stood on the matt, unknowingly keeping the door open.
This really could do with addressing

We had a pre theatre meal. The food and atmosphere were delightful as were the staff.

This was our first visit to Vertigo and we were not disappointed. It was quiet when we arrived for lunch but soon filled up and several customers coming in for takeaway lunches. The broccoli soup was delicious and the mushroom bourgignon pie with mash and cabbage was amazing! We've tried a few of the vegan eateries in town but this is by far my favourite! Looking forward to returning to try something else from the menu 😋

Delicious food with wonderful balance of flavours. We had the pre theatre menu which was really good value and the staff are lovely. Highly recommended!

Great food, only downside was it was chilly outside and could have been warmer in there.

Very easy to book. The food was excellent however we did not have time to enjoy it fully. Table booked at 5:45 as had a show at 7:30 at HOME. We ordered the pre-theatre menu of a starter, main and drink (great value!). I think our starters arrived about 6:30, which were great and then we didn’t get our mains until 7:10! We literally had to wolf them down and run off. I asked to pay the bill whilst we were eating so that we could leave asap.
The food was great, but I didn’t think it would take that long to prepare, and unfortunately that let our night down. We were not informed of the wait time nor even asked for more drinks the whole time. Would have made more money off us in drinks and puddings had food arrived quicker.

My daughter and I enjoyed the pre-theatre offer. The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. Lovely ambience too :)

Excellent imaginative food, friendly staff and great location. I love the fact it’s totally vegan & open in the evening. My friend & I shared four of the small plates which were all delicious. The desserts were fab too. Highly recommend it!

the food was delicious, and the server was really helpful and friendly. the atmosphere in the place was chilled out, quiet, and it was warm considering it was so cold outside - which was extremely good!

Good range of choice on the menu, (we had the pre-theatre menu) and a very nice bottle of Picpoul de Penet. The stand out however were the staff they were all very attentive without being intrusive and hit the right balance of customer service without taking away from the ambience. Will certainly pay another visit.

We waited 35 minutes from starter to the main arriving which left us with not very much time to get to our show :( and we had to skip pudding which was upsetting

Vertigo is completely plant based, and makes the most amazing food! The team are lovely and attentive, and it's a lovely atmosphere!

Very pleasant an different experience. there were 3 of us and we sahred both starters and mains and they were all excellent

Fantastic food, friendly service and great prices.

Really lovely food, the staff were so friendly and helpful. We brought a fractious 8 week old in with us & everybody was very polite & smiley, even the other customers! Good ambience, and beautiful cake - with slices far bigger than we could manage! Will definitely be back

Excellent service, really great food and good value for money within the pre-theatre deal

Came for a Saturday night dinner with my partner. Food was delicious - shared mac and cheese and hummus to start, chilli and mushroom pie for main and the most delicious cherry brownie for dessert. All the food was wonderful as was the service. Nice atmosphere, busy but not too busy. Knowledgeable servers.
Cost us £53 for 3 courses each and a bottle of red which I think is wonderful! Will be back

Delicious vegan food and very friendly efficient service one of my favourite places to eat, plus you get to sample their leftover stuff at less than half price at the end of the evening on the too good to go app.
