Nice place. Average food but great ambiance. Waiter was great.
They were charging more for food bc it was Father’s Day a tomahawk steak was 130 on special and a different price on the menu I asked the girl the difference and she said they are the same then to top it off they have a pandemic fee on the bill wtf we r here to support you not get robbed
Enjoyed the outdoor dining. Felt very safe! Our waitress was so sweet.
There was a bit of a mixup upon our arrival We sat for 25 minutes without anyone approaching us. Our server was never advised that we were his table. Once he was, smooth sailing! Al was wonderful. We all had appetizers, dinner and dessert. Absolutely delicious. We will be returning!
Very nice place and well set up for the current covid restrictionis. All in all a great night.
Excellent service, food, and great selection of wine for a small little place :)
Outdoors with limited seating capacity but great to be out of the house and at a restaurant again. The four of us shared 5 Tapas dishes then the Plato de Carne (which we couldn't finish). The food was great with items brought out over time so the table was not overcrowded. Total cost with drinks but before tip was just under $200 which I thought was very reasonable. We will definitely return.
First time coming here and the venue is absolutely gorgeous. They did an amazing job renovating. Food is reasonably priced and portions are HUGE. Definitely coming here again
The food is fantastic but the service was HORRIBLE! Took over 10 minutes for a waiter to even approach us. Then they brought the wrong dinner to my husband and we’re not apologetic.
If you enjoy a calm get-together with friends try the Village Bistro. The atmosphere is subdued enough to have a conversation yet lively enough to enjoy the energy. The menu is diverse and offers small meals or full dinners. I had a wonderful salmon and we shared a calamari with drinks. The wait staff is pleasant and attentive. They don't vanish. It's a place to relax and escape.
We were seated and waited for 30 minutes! No server ever came up to us so we left. It was extremely noisy in there. They had a fireplace but it was not lit which would’ve been nice. Very disappointing.. and on Valentine’s Day too!
It was super loud. I have a food allergy and they were not accommodating at all. If I knew we were getting the prefix menu in the dinning room I would have asked to sit in the bar where people were ordering off the regular menu. The server was super rude and had no idea what a gluten allergy was, she acted dumb when I explained it to her. They had a live band and it felt like we were at a concert. Totally rude and people were asking to move their seats. People like to eat in peace and be able to talk I wasn’t able to hear my boyfriend talking to me because the band was so loud. If you do go make sure it’s not on a holiday.
Well if I write a review that would take 20minutes to read you would know what it was like to wait for a glass of water to be brought to the table. We saw two couples leave after waiting 10minutes for a server to acknowledge them at the table. It was Valentine’s Day and was disappointed in the attention to detail on an evening when all we wanted was a quiet meal out that parents of two teenagers don’t get very often. What was even more shocking was the live band that overpowered the entire restaurant at 8pm. The idea of a band on a Friday night on Valentines would be more appropriate about 10pm. Again, our expectations of the night was a quiet enjoyable meal with good service. We’ve been there before and had a good experience. Though the food was fantastic again the entire dinner was overshadowed by the lack of attention to detail ON VALENTINE’S DAY! We will never go back on any special occasion. Great food and atmosphere for any other night.
I understand that Valentine's day fix menu is a must for restaurants I just wish they had at least one more option.
Food not t o tasty ,just regular food, very cold inside, low heater .
I always dislike having to give a bad review but I feel compelled for this restaurant. I took my fiance and his children here for Sunday brunch for a birthday celebration. It should have been an indicator, we were the only people in the entire restaurant. We all had the brunch buffet special which consisted of scrambled eggs that had been in the serving platter several hours and were burned and dried out. The eggs benedict was horrid, the eggs where HARD boiled, the hollandaise sticky like glue and I could have taken the English muffin outside and played street hockey with it. There were four slices of sweaty cheese on a plate next to a huge bowl of egg salad. There were 5 slices of cake on a dish, which was not replenished after 3 of the pieces were taken. The chicken and waffles consisted of partly breaded dried out chicken cutlets on broken up pieces of stale overcooked waffles. I could go on but will end by saying...This was an absolutely terrible dining experience and I will not be returning.
Everything was excellent. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic.
Great evening... food and drinks were perfect. Service was outstanding. Had entertainment which was good.
Excellent place. Staff was excellent. Thank you Heather. We went for brunch
We had great food and service. Tapas were delicious. There was a band the night we were there that was way too loud, but other than that it was a great night out.
The band was great. The service was very poor. It took about 2 hours to get service at our table. We had to go to the bar to get our drinks as no one came to our table for at least an hour and a half. The most positive part of the service was the young man who brought water to the table. The management needs to be changed. As I said before great band and ambiance but the worst service and management that I have experienced in a very long time. I recommend bringing your own food and booze and enjoy the ambiance.
Wonderful service! Angela was the best!!!
I enjoy my night. The only problem my Calamari was old and dry. You can see it wasn't fresh. I enjoyed my coconut mojito 😊
My husband and I went early because we were on our way to an 8:00 play afterwards. There were very few customers at at 5:30. There were excellent and varied vegetarian choices for us. Sometimes we feel that the vegetarian choices are not good in restaurants in the U.S., but these were quite good, and we loved the chocolate lava cake dessert!!
We were visiting a college from out of town and stopped in for late dinner. Food and people were great!
We have eaten here many times, it is a bit of a splurge for us (basically because of the drinks, which are still the best not never the cheapest). Have always found the food to be exceptional (love the chorizo, grilled shrimp tapas, the carne on a board fo4 2 or 4). The menu was pared down SIGNIFICANTLY to where none of the dishes we would have ordered were on the menu anymore. Wanted the board of meats, potatoes and accompaniments for 4. Very disappointed. Out of the 4 meals we did order, 2 were great (both salmon with crispy skin), 2 were disappointments (carbonara and flank steak). Drinks are exceptional still, so tapas and drinks next time. Won’t have a full dinner here. So sad, it was a great restaurant and now it’s just average.
Went for Sunday brunch and was quite disappointed. The food selection was ok, not great. We arrived only half an hour after brunch began and food in the warming trays were warm at best. Waffles and French toast were cold and hard. Raw seafood had a horrible taste. Selection overall was not worth $30 per person, especially when they didn’t include a Bloody Mary, only a mimosa which we don’t like. We certainly won’t be back for brunch again.
The tapas are overpriced. The dinners are overpriced.
There is a happy hour were the tapas are half price but you have to sit at the bar.
My friend had the beef stew and it was not very good.
My fish dish was fair.
Great night out, food was very good, our waitress Maria was excellent and spot on with wine recommendations and as an added bonus- it was belly dancing night! Good time!
EVERYTHING about this place was GREAT !!!!! EVERYTHING was OUTSTANDING !!!!!
We were a group of four who ordered several entrees and tapas, plus wine and dessert. Nothing really wowed us. We felt this was not a good value for the price. Maybe this place is more for the breakfast and lunch crowd.
Food was good but the music was outrageously loud. And it was jazzy so even more annoying. Others in the restaurant noticed also so it wasn't just me. The tables are way too close together for a Milford joint; expected in NYC but not in the burbs. I won't return.
My wife and I have been here before on one of our dates and we loved it the first time and even more so the second time. We took our friends here and they loved it as well. Good portion sizes and reasonably priced. The service was stupendous. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The only drawback is that I wish the place was a little bigger.
The Spanish/Mediterranean food was incredibly delicious. There tapas portions are much more generous as compared to other restaurants. We had their hummus and a mixed meet dish for tapas and split their paella. We were stuffed! The hummus has a very unique flavor almost as if they used cheese (I'm pretty sure they didn't) The grilled meats and their paella were equally excellent, especially the chorizo. All of the meats fell apart they were so tender. And the paella was just right (not too salty as I find in most restaurants.)
A definite repeat for us.
I was pleased to find another option in Milford, a place I regularly visit on business. There were only a few customers there so it was a lovely, quiet atmosphere. In spite of the lack of customers service was pretty slow and laid back. It wasn't really a problem, but I don' feel that one should need to call out to a waiter in order to get his attention to order a glass of wine. The food was o.k., certainly not on pair with a Tapas experience like Barcelona in New Haven, for example. But, I'd probably return.
Had a girls night date with friends. We sat on the deck, the post road is loud but the ambiance and decor on the deck makes it feel like you're elsewhere. The service was amazing! Tapas were great especially the flank steak, mussels and goat cheese in prosciutto. Pricey but worth it!! Can't wait to try brunch!!! Thank you Village Bistro!! And thank you to our Waitress, I wish I remembered her name, so friendly and your recommendations were perfect!
Order the goat cheese wrapped in prosciutto! So yummy!
Tapas were amazing; loved sitting out on the patio! Thanks again for your great service!
