vivo ristorante - Westend
From the moment we were seated at the counter seating.. which gave us a front row view of the inner workings of their kitchen... to the moment we were ready to pay, we felt taken care of; I have some unusual food allergies, they clarified exactly what I couldn't have and I never felt judged (this has been a problem at another restaurant in the past) and made a beautiful substitution for the one thing on the menu I couldn't have without issue. It was a wonderful experience, we did the chef's taster menu and everything was absolutely wonderful... from the grilled caesar salad to the beautifully cooked Alberta beefto the artisanal latte. Everything exceeded expectations. My husband loved loved loved the risotto. Very reasonably priced for what you get. Bring an appetite and your people watching skills and you'll be set for the counter seating. Thank you Vivo for making our anniversary one to remember.
My date & I have been here several times and have never been disappointed.
We shared the Beef Tenderloin and the Rissoto and both were excellent.
Mike was our waiter and was very attentive and gave us excellent service.
While the food and wine tend to be a bit on the pricey side, this is not a place that we would go to on a regular basis.
We each had a pre dinner drink Gin and Tonic and a bottle of New Zealand Pinot Grigio with our meal.
Our cost was $215 including tip.
Wonderful evening !!!
Is seams we the only table not to get bread service. Also most tables didn’t get water replenished in a short amount of time. My wife needs to drink water with every bite she had all the water glasses in front of her because we couldn’t get the server to fill them. Also we got the chicken and we got 2 medium breasts with a little bit of cheese and some marinara sauce. 68 dollars. Way over priced. Same price as a cowboy ribeye at Ruth’s Chris steakhouse. It was a favourite restaurant on open table but I will be removing
A wonderful way to spend our anniversary dinner. Love the counter seating to see how the food is prepared. Very professional staff and the attention to detail is very much appreciated.
I’ve already started recommending vevo to friends we had a great experience and are looking forward to our next visit. This place Has a great menu and delicious food. The price is a little bit more than we are used to but I can see why. Overall excellent place
The overall experience was OK. Food was good but not what I had expected for the price. Service was good but not exceptional. I would not rush back there. Indicated that it was our anniversary but nothing done special for it.
Knowledgeable staff, great service. Quiet atmosphere made for a great evening
Fun and good was amazing. Air conditioning was a little cold..
Excellent good. Very enjoyable evening. Service was excellent. Did the chefs tasting menu - highly recommend
Nothing wrong with the place, just average food quality and service.....good wine selection though. At the prices they charge, expect better quality/innovation. Pasta was way too al dente, supposed to be there wheelhouse, given that it is an Italian resto. Not likely to go back.
Love Vivo, we go back regularly for the great food and service
Excellent service - our waiter (Pat) was outstanding and the owner/manager was great, too. The food was very well crafted, and the kitchen did a great job accommodating my wife's gluten allergy. A very nice fine-dining experience.
Staff warmly welcomed us right after we walked through the door. Had an easy and friendly rapport with our server, Pat, who took care of us from the get go. My date and I shared the Chef's Tasting Menu, where all the dishes were quite succulent and the perfect portion size.
We will definitely be back!
Absolutely great place! Great service, outstanding food and drinks.
Vivo is one of our families favorite place to celebrate special events! We have many special memories at Vivo!
I live this restaurant! The food is so fresh and served piping hot. The new menu additions are fantastic. Portions are healthy. Authentic family style Italian. Service is excellent! Great wine list.
Just another great meal and experience at Vivo! 6 years of visiting this location and we still love it!
We went to vivo on the west end for the first time to celebrate my spouse's birthday. As he is a great cook I thought it would be nice to get counter seating so we could see our meal being prepared. My husband loved it! It was the highlight of his day. Alan was very attentive and informative about the dishes and things we might like to try since it was our first time there. We thought it was great value for the top notch food, service, and the show! Absolutely would recommend this wonderful restaurant. We will try their downtown location very soon!!
Meal was good! Pappardelle was a not as thin as I would of liked it but the flavours were wonderful! Caesar salad was so good!
Went to VIVO for the first time, having noted that they are opening a location in Sherwood Park a few blocks from our home. Our waiter was Pat, very polished and professional, welcomed us warmly and explained their unique format.
I ordered a Vivo old fashioned (American rye and spicy syrup) and my wife had a Caesar, both of which were delicious.
We had their grilled Caesar salad to start, very unique and a welcome change from the usual tossed variety. Then we had a small charcuterie board, which was tasty but could have used some pickled vegetables to round it out.
I enjoyed a couple glasses of Il Bruciato Bolgheri, fantastic, a real winner.
Our primi course was the lobster risotto, very rich and creamy, and flavourful.
Our secondi was the sea bass, fleshy and moist, and nicely cooked, with tomato pepper relish, and a side of proscuitto wrapped asparagus, and it was absolutely delicious, but I'm not sure the bass (for 2) was worth $118.
I finished with a glass of Ben Rye Donnafugata, wow what a nice rich dessert wine!
All told, a wonderful dinner, and Pat was an excellent server, old school classy, but I'm still not convinced the sea bass was worth $40 more than the next closest main.
I am eager for VIVO to open its Sherwood Park location! We will be regulars.
Caesar salad and fettuccine were terrific; everything else was very good. We’ll be back!
Excellent service and the food was wonderful. We had tasting menu, and every dish was delightful
Waitress was amazing , knew the menu and wines , recommended based on what we described we liked . Service was fast , food came in no time and was amazing. Atmosphere was quiet and romantic . Highly recommend eating here!
Went in for some pasta tonight. When we want really good pasta this is where we go.
Vivo is one of Edmonton’s gems. The food, the staff, the ambiance is amazing. The food is over the top. Can’t wait for the Sherwood Park location to open. Twice the great food
Amazing service and food. Server went above and beyond expectations and took care of us extremely well. Will absolutely be back.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at vivo. Our server was wonderful-very knowledgeable about the menu, was friendly & efficient. The food was delicious, no complaints there. Probably the only negative was that we did find it expensive.
The food was delicious and Our waitress was super friendly and nice!
Excellent service and the food is always great. Came with friends who were there for first time. The staff made them welcome and feel special. They loved the food, the wine and the atmosphere. Great job once again!
The waiter Al was fantastic and took great care and attention to our friend's gluten allergy letting him know what he was able to eat and made a separate plate for his caesar salad without the bread. We ended up having the private dining room and there was 8 of us in total. it was nice to be in a quieter area of the restaurant to visit and it was quite comfortable. I cannot wait for our next group outing!
The meal my wife and I ordered was fantaic Had the tasting menu
I asked for some special favour and they more than accommodated. I have been here about 7 times now and each time is truly great. Service is always great.
Amazing food, everything we had was great. A little pricey, but excellent food!
We had a wonderful evening. The staff is amazing and of course the food was delicious. Thank you for taking such good care of us.
We enjoyed the special tasting menu at Vivo and it was incredible. As always fantastic food, great service, nice atmosphere.. really an Edmonton gem.
Wasn’t to sure what to expect. Although upon arrival we were greeted and sat instantly and the service was right on key to explain how everything works and how each meal is created. Food was fantastic to every last bit. Will visit again
Friendly people, good service and excellent food! I went with my family for dinner and everyone was really satisfied. I am very sure that I will visit again on my next visit to Edmonton.
As we look back, we think the gnocchi was burnt.....tasty but definitely overcooked from the last time we were there. Leftovers were delicious the next evening!
