Great food and service . You can hear yourselves talk while enjoying a great meal . Bar is very nice and overall great experience
I made a reservation on Open Table and indicated the dinner was a Birthday celebration. The day of the dinner, the restaurant called and asked the name of the person celebrating a birthday. The birthday girl received a menu “Happy Birthday (name)”. The staff was attentive without being intrusive and the food was fabulous. Highly recommend.
I ordered lamb which was a mistake while my wife ordered pasta. Good quality lamb was ruined by poor preparation while the pasta with sausage was EXTREMELY GOOD. A wonderful place with some weak points. We will come again but never order the lamb.
Wonderful menu choices, delicious food, excellent and attentive service.
It was so good, the food, the service. I told the waitress that i had just graduated and at the end of the meal when we got our dessert they had put candles in it because its “ still a celebration.”
Had a piece of bland, tasteless Halibut. Underwhelming presentation of some fingerling potatoes and mushrooms. Overpriced at $42. I left the restaurant hungry. $90./person including tip. Overpriced. Previously, had dinner there at private party, but I wasn't paying for it. There are many other choices in Chicago where I can enjoy a wonderful dinner for much less. I will not return
Our waiter was not as attentive as the first time that I went and then we had a passive aggressive water boy who would make rude remarks. The food quality was great but the servers might need a little more motivation.
Incredible service top to bottom.
So accommodating for any occasion really! We totally enjoyed our meal at Walton Street!!!!!
It was my wife’s birthday and she had the entire city to choose from. No surprise that she chose our new old favorite neighborhood spot (even though it’s not in our hood). The food and service did not disappoint! Spring Pea Risotto, Veal Chop and Mussels were all outstanding.
First time dining at Walton Street for lunch and enjoyed it. Dinner here is more energetic and lively, but lunch was quite calm and laid back. For some reason, nothing on the lunch menu really stood out to me, but overall it had decent options. I ordered the crab omelet and my friend had the taco salad. Both were good. I wish the crab was more cooked into the omelet rather than just wrapped up in an egg. The chocolate cake dessert was very rich and delicious. Overall it was a nice lunch, but I think I prefer WS for dinner more!
This was our 4th time at restaurant and most disappointing. My wife meal was not cooked to order, we had waiter bring it back to kitchen. It was brought out by manager who proceeded to make a nasty comment. We live across the street from restaurant and were hoping to make it our go to neighborhood place but will have to reconsider after this experience.
This was my second time at Walton Street and did not disappoint. Excellent food, great service. Will be on our favorite list.
We went for the happy hour special (3:30 to 6 pm daily) before attending a play at the nearby Ruth Page Center for Performing Arts. We had a nice booth near the window and our server was great. There was a nice selection of $7 glasses of wine (including sparkling) and the three $7 appetizers we shared--falafel, sweet pea toast and sweet and spicy cauliflower--were delicious and satisfying. I didn't really look at the rest of the menu but it was a perfect spot for our purpose.
Excellent brunch. Food is tasty and approachable. People watching very good says the wife. Beautiful space.
Walton Street is a terrific restaurant. The food (Flatbread, Trout), Service (John, our server, was excellent) and ambiance were relaxing. Mike and Jonathan (managers) were also very hospitable and we'll continue to make this a city dining destination in the future.
Great food, great service, attractive clientele, great location corner of Walton & State
Thank you Frankie
Great service and great for as usual
One of my favorite spots
Really enjoyed it here. Super friendly staff from the moment we arrived to when we left. Food was excellent
Great food and people. Will definitely go back. Great spot for a business dinner.
My favorite place to go for date night - the Prix Fixe is amazing and affordable. I would highly recommend going to Walton Street Kitchen!
Good, creative food and service beyond good—personal, genuine and caring!
Lousy service , food mediocre, prices too high . Inconsistent from first visit. Didn’t care for back room. Server not attentive or personable
King Crab starter is a must.
Service was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly.
Manager Mike came by to make sure everything was what we hoped for, overall great experience!
Food was great!!! Ambience was fun. Decor was great too. Kate & Mice (sp?) were super hospitable managers!
This was a second visit to Walton Street and we were celebrating a birthday. The restaurant made that a very special occasion by providing complimentary champagne and personalizing the menu with a greeting for the birthday person. That was very nice. The noise level in the 2nd level bar area is very loud as is the main dining room. However, the is a quieter dining room adjacent to the larger space and we were gratefully seated there where we could easily converse without having to scream. Restaurant service was good but not intrusive. Menu choices are varied. Would certainly return again.
Beautiful setting. Great food. No pressure to finish.
I was hoping the downstairs lounge would be open as they have high quality bourbons. However the bar upstairs does not have the same bourbons which is very disappointing
We had an amazing dinner out with friends. Crispy Rock Shrimp and Mussels to start. The Mussels were pristinely fresh and cooked perfectly. The Rock Shrimp is addictive! The Pork Chop and Meatloaf were our entree standouts.
I have only dined at Walton Street twice, both times at lunch. The salmon sushi rice bowl is so, so good! Our server on each visit was Gabriel and his recommendations are spot on.
I eat Salmon 3 times a week and this was one of the best I have ever had. Great prep. Great service
Love this restaurant! Awesome food, vibe and ambience!
Walton Street has the best burger! The staff is all super friendly and so accommodating! Highly recommend the drinks as well especially early the curl so good!!
Went to Walton Street to have a birthday dinner. The menu had a small selection with great choices to choose from. I personally had the salmon in which it was a great option speaking calories wise and seasoned well to taste. The interior of Walton in very nice with great street views from the large windows. I would recommend Walton Street to anyone looking to have a new dining experience with great food and a variety of mixed drinks and wine to choose from.
Walton Street was fabulous on every level. Yes, it was my son’s college graduation and the staff went over and beyond to help us celebrate and make our occasion a festive one; but the food, ambiance, level of professionalism and just incredible kindness showed to us made the night into a grand experience. Now you might say that we loved Walton Street because we were celebrating a happy occasion and that affected our view. Normally I would agree! But, I sent my son and girlfriend to try Walton Street a few months previously; they (22 year olds) were treated the same way (which I think is unusual for ‘kids’ dining out to be treated as well as adults) and loved their food.
They generously started our party of 10 off with champagne (excellent champagne by the way). We also ordered some bottles of wine for the table and several people ordered really interesting cocktails which they all loved.
We ordered appetizers (mussels, salads, falafel - amazing), all were excellent. For mains we had various kinds of steaks and fish; everyone was thrilled with their dish... every plate was thoroughly enjoyed.
My son’s graduation dinner concluded with a couple of pieces of really fabulous desserts (on the house); we shared because we were full and thoroughly satisfied with dinner. (We were entertaining relatives from NYC and France - they are not always easy to please or impress!) The waiter (I’m embaressed to say I don’t remember his name) was kind, most accommodating and professional wait person I’ve ever encountered. He kept on top of our dining experience to be sure it was perfect and it really was. The hostesses and bus people were also incredible.
I went out of my way to find a couple of managers to tell them how happy and pleased we were with their staff, food and professionalism at Walton Street.
It’s the kind of place that makes you want to tell everyone about; the food, ambience and sheer effort every employee put in to make our night special was terrific.
There is lots of manager involvement which makes for great service. Walton Street has a new prix fix dinner for patrons of Porchlight theatre that is a great value with fabulous food. The salmon is superb.
Really a wonderful meal with great ambiance and service.
Mother’s Day brunch was fabulous!
