My wife and I were looking forward to this date. We’ve been here before and a sister restaurant in California as well. Food was great but service mediocre. It started with seating - despite an empty restaurant, they first tired to seat us in the back next to a noisy family. We asked for a better seat and they tried to put us at something only slightly better; so we asked explicitly for the booth by the front window and got it. At the main course the server - who up until then had been attentive - asked if we wanted something else to drink, and we ordered wine to go with the steak. We finished our meal without ever getting that wine and when we told her to cancel she said “don’t worry I have taken that off your bill” as if doing us a favor. We decided at that point maybe they were trying to get rid of us so that could seat somebody else there, so we decided to re-order the drinks and take our time finishing. This theme of trying to seat people in subpar seating FIRST (or trying to give away the worst rooms first at hotels) is a sad theme I have noticed in the last 10 years and I am perplexed as to why they care so little about making a great first impression.

The halibut was extremely dry and disappointing. This place is known for the raw bar but I am not a fan so maybe that was my mistake. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks… the food came out quickly following but then our server disappeared for 20+ minutes after that… probably won’t be going here again next time I am in town.

Delicious food. It is obvious they are subject matter experts in seafood. The wait staff is very knowledgable and friendly. I will go back frequently because the menu changes frequently with in season ingredients.

Oysters sampler excellent but make sure to ask for lemons and enough spoons for sauces or they won’t bring any at all or be very late about bringing just one. Wish that they would have asked if we wanted still water before they cluttered up our small table ( too small) for 5 persons. The male server asked the men for cocktails orders and forgot about the women….later acknowledged what he has done. I’ve been at WG many times before but was embarrassed by the service to my family for a special occasion this time. Bummer

Excellent service and presentation. Proper detail taken with sides that accompany the main course. Great seafood selections.

We had a wonderful time and actually talked about how you could hear the music playing which set the vibe, but that it was easy for the four of us to carry on conversation. Food was fantastic! Waiter was really flexible when we asked to have food served family style so we could all test and try the dishes we had. Yummy! $450 for four people. We each had two cocktails.

Food was amazing, was skeptical about ordering the king salmon sushi but so happy I did. Octopus was great, shrimp scampi was great, they make their own banana ice cream and wow. Great, Jeremy our waiter was amazing too. Very down to earth, great sense of humor, attentive. Great experience here

We ordered mostly seafood items and all tasted excellent and were well prepared. Service was excellent; it was efficient, time between courses was just right and we were checked on regularly. Prices are pretty high in my opinion but most definitely worth it for special occasions.
