Wok n Fire - St Charles
It was a bit warm in the dining area. Outside of the temperature, the rest of experience was great.
The food is always good and the service was good. I am not sure what to say we go here once a month.
Terrible sushi! It’s the Chili’s of sushi rolls.
Such great service! The manager is very welcoming and accommodating! Always impressed!
Service was great and the food was very good. We will come back again.
Main course came out 2 minutes after soup 2was served
We love the variety of cuisines represented on the menu, their gluten-free and vegetarian options, and the overall dining experience.
We are long time customers of Wok-n-Fire and liked the previous menu much better. The new menu has less options to order from. For our party of 6, we experienced the following: the draft beers we ordered were warm; the ginger ale ordered was watered down and had to be reordered; one of dishes we ordered was prepared wrong and had to be sent back and re-made. It appeared to us that Wok-n-Fire is headed in the wrong direction from our many previous visits. I hope that Wok-n-Fire uses this feedback constructively to make improvements in its food, drinks and service. Thanks for listening.
First time visit. The overall food/ambience experience was good. However, there are areas for improvement. Specifically, we were handed dirty menus and then the beginning service (greeting, drink order )was slow. We also requested drink refills at time of food delivery and it wasn't acted on until a second request was made. Check in after food delivery was slow.
We noticed another group of 4 was seated but they were not greeted. They sat and sat and no one stopped by. They finally left without ordering and no one seemed to notice. The restaurant was busy on a Saturday night but a few tables were still available.
The menu and special options were good.
Our waiter acknowledged when he met our table that he didn't know who was assigned but said he would take care of us. This may have been the issue with the family of 4
Food was good. Service was good. Well attended too. Atmosphere was pretty decent. Very lively environment. Was a little challenging to hear through. Lots of people talking enjoying themselves but that made it a bit hard to hear our conversation. Overall a nice time. Would go back.
Summer fun for our kids who like sushi. We had a horrible experience. It took over 45 minutes to get our food. The food was NOT up to par! The nigiri rolls fell apart the rice was not sticky at all they seemed like the rice had been buttered or something. The Thai salad was disgusting. Very disappointed. The kids enjoyed the bathroom stalls where so tall, but the handle on the inside of one of the women’s stAlls was not functioning properly loose... very disappointing
Seems like they need to adjust a/c Even hostess was walking around pulling her sweater together. I think front desk needs to dress more appropriately. Shorts and a cropped top seem way too casual.
Overall great experience, we love going here for family dinners. Always seated quickly and great service.
Service was horrible. Young people who don't understand what a reservation is. Disrespectful.
Mediocre sushi, took a while to receive it and the other entree's sat and we're like warm by the time the sushi was ready. They gave a free desert for my friend's birthday; the highlight of the dinner.
We waited an extremely long time for our food and when asked what the hold up was we were told it was cooking of the child’s menu item. Our food came out luke warm and our daughters meal was a cold meal which did not require cooking at that time. The server didn’t seem too attentive to us so we are unsure if it was a kitchen or service issue.
Felt a bit rushed to check out. Was told we were the waitresses only table. Conversation was interrupted a few times. The food and drinks were very good.
One individual in our party didn’t receive their meal until it was indicated to our server that it’d been forgotten. Another individual had what resembled to be a long curly hair in their sushi. We were told it was some sort of husk from what they wrap it in. Still looked gross though!
It’s just not what it once was. I could write about the latest visit, but let’s just say the food and service were quite pedestrian. When it first opened, I thought we had serious competition for Big Bowl. It no longer is. If you need Asian food and don’t want to drive to a great restaurant, this will do. Personally, a trip to Panda is every bit as good, if not better, and a heck of a lot cheaper.
Great food, service and atmosphere
Terrible service. Uneducated staff. Didn’t care to say hello or goodbye. Seemed like the place was ran by 16 year olds. Would never go back especially for some special occasion.
Great sushi, very fresh. Way too loud to have a conversation with your table. Service is not the greatest, you wait awhile for drinks.
Usual good, but the restaurant seems to be showing its age - some decor needs repair/refresh.
We love the St. Charles location best of all the Wok N’ Fire. But the ceiling lanterns don’t seem to work any more, the Abacus has some broken/damaged lights, and there seems to be more focus on TVs with sports games.
Front desk experience was so-so. We asked to not be sat near noisy kids/families (weekend visit), reception person sat us next to a family with a loud baby and 3yo. We asked to be moved within one minute of sitting down. We’re not snobby, we simply wanted a quieter experience, and we didn’t want to impact the young family enjoying their dining experience at your restaurant. Front desk folks - I asked what I asked for a reason, listen to me next time - or the next restaurant I dine at will not be yours.
Food OK, though I thought the Chicken Satay had had four skewers in previous visits, this time was given three. Perhaps WNF has always only given three skewers (versus four for most Thai restaurants, I can’t honestly remember).
Still a good place to visit - reliable mix of Asian specialties. But the interior decor helped make it special, sad to see that it’s being neglected.
Food was good. Music was way too loud. Couldn’t hear anything on other side of table w a group of 7.
Excellent food and service.
I was very disappointed that they removed their Penang Curry dish. Since Mothers Day, their menu has been greatly reduced. I will not be in a hurry to get back there since they were one of my go-2's for Penang Curry.
High School Graduation Family Dinner
Great time. Fast service. Great food!
Awesome sushi bar, jumbo soft shell crab roll and mango margaritas!🍣🍹🦀
We arrived a minute or two early for our 6:45pm Friday reservation, but weren't seated till almost 10 after 7pm. The place was crowded! We were given a card for a free appetizer for the wait - which was awesome! If you're under a time crunch, just take that into consideration. Food was great - ribs were a little burned. Wouldn't order those again, but the gyoza and ahi appetizers were simply delicious and loved the CA roll.
Booked a table for 6 to celebrate family birthdays and were seated directly by the kitchen and the bathrooms. Very busy place to stuff a table of six. Despite that service was excellent and so was the food. Very loud restaurant. Hard to hear people across the table, keep in mind for groups over 4 .
There was a bus person who decided to make a comment regarding a knocked over glass by a customer that maybe they needed a sippy cup. Really, you’ve never had a glass accidentally get knocked over? Next take be helpful and offer assistance versus smart aleck dumb “wit”, it might make the difference to a customer to decide to come back again. The food was exceptional and our waitress, Melanie was terrific.
Had a reservation for 3 on mother's day, arrived on time, waited around 10 minutes. Had the option for a booth or table, chose the booth it was a little more private and quiet. There are Booth's at the end for big groups or they split them up and you would share with another group. A little too cozy! Ordered from the gluten free menu, everything came with a tall tooth pick labeled that it was gluten free. The food and service was excellent, the server was very attentive. All in all a great experience.
We like the restaurant and routinely go there however the service this time was horrible. They are always busy but never had service this poor. We sat 10 min before anyone came to our table. Had empty glasses many times. Waited forever to order. Etc etc. No urgency in part of the server.
Early Mother’s Day
We had a reservation and it was our first time. The host person seems to be too young, didn’t greet us properly. The waiting area extremely small and inconvenient. The person that cleaned tables next to us was very loud and literally throwing plates in the tray. Was hard to enjoy our meal. Sushi roll turned out very tasty, however the fish slices on nigiri were too thin for the price.
Food is so flavorable and it is so popular walking in on Friday or Saturday night would make it hard to get a table.
I was surprised that they had a new happy hour menu, but I think it’s a nice change. I didn’t think this at first, but it’s a good variety in the new menu
Service was great food, food was ok Salmon was way over cooked.
I’m not sure if they had new cook or he had a bad day.
The food was very good. Our server seemed a little hesitant, came to check on us once after we received our food. Music was a little loud.
