I like a rustic feel but this restaurant needs updating.
We made a last minute reservation for Thanksgiving dinner. The online menu looked great!! We were staying at a local hotel & were thinking we'd rather get takeout so I called back, spoke with Michelle. She was the nicest, sweetest person who changed our reservation to a take out without hesitation. The meals, one ham & one turkey were huge!! Plenty of meat, veggies, side salad, rolls & dessert! Highly recommend!!
I am delighted to hear you enjoyed your dinner from Wolfe's Tavern. The Culinary team has worked hard to provide superior service and high quality food. I will be certain to pass along your comments to all on property.
Wolfe's Tavern does a spectacular Thanksgiving dinner. The food is certainly the best traditional dinner we have ever had, and the cranberry/orange side alone is worth the trip. We have dined here for the holiday in years before, and even with Covid restrictions, the restaurant once again hit it out of the park. They even moved us to a private area that became available for greater comfort with social distancing. Superb!
Thank you so very much for your support and recognition of the efforts made by the Wolfe's Tavern Team. We hope to see you again soon.
Nice dining room with fireplace adjacent to long bar.
Very convenient - right at the Inn. Full menu did not seem to be offered, although this is pub food and not finr dining.
Great time for the family. A little pricey, but we had a great time and the food was pretty good
Outstanding service very accommodating!
This place was dirty and rundown. The fish batter was old, the pasta salad was mushy and oily, the sandwich was greasy, and so on. What a shame! The service was fine, though
The Thanksgiving Turkey sandwich was excellent from the toasted bread to the turkey and stuffing all being warm was outstanding. The clam chowder tasted great but lacked in clams and potatoes.
Ordered Hamburger and fish. Very good. Staff very friendly Josh the manager very good, helped to make the evening enjoyable.
Our first visit during Covid. Limited menu but good. Pleasant server , outside seating. One suggestion would be to use heaters which were told they had.
Service was super fast. As a matter of fact way too fast. Our entres were done so quickly that the microwave didn’t even get a chance to heat the meal through. My mates roasted half chicken was cooked but cold in the center. My steak tips even though tasty, were suffering a similar fate. It’s a bit of a shame because the food was good and you could taste that much...as soon as our entres were done we got our bill... no dessert offering or a chance to order more drinks. Staff was friendly though. Perhaps it was a staffing issue for the evening?
Good pub type food. Nice atmosphere. Loved the deep fried asparagus
We have been a little dismayed at the decreasing lack of variety at the Wolfeboro Inn's menu for some time now. Sometimes you are offered bread, sometimes not.
But it is the lack of variety that really stands out.
Everything was amazing. This is our go to when we are in the area.
Return visits over many decades...good, simple fare, good drinks. The Tavern is handling COVID with separation and mask. We'll go back again, and again.
Good food and friendly service staff! Cool ambiance .. what more could you ask for?
We arrived on time and the restaurant was closed. I had received a request to confirm yesterday. I am very annoyed with both Open Table and Wolfe Tavern.
We sat outside. Table was very small for 3 people. Very noisy with the number of motorcyclists zooming up and down the road outside.
We have eaten many meals at Wolfe’s Tavern under non-pandemic conditions and were very impressed with the way things were handled during the pandemic. The food and service were similar to “normal” times and the staff did a great job of making the dining experience comfortable and relaxed. The menu is somewhat limited, especially for non meat-eaters, but we found enough to fill us up and then some! A very enjoyable evening.
Delicious food, great beer selection, and ambiance was perfect after a day on the lake.
My family and I once had breakfast here and it was great. Dinner was no where near a good, may be due to Covid19. We’ll give it another try next summer, hopefully things will be back to normal.
A reliable place to eat; we sat in the pub are which has great atmosphere. The menu was reduced but there were still plenty of choices. The steak tips were the best, they were cooked to perfection and the hot fudge brownie sundae was yummy!
Beautiful lunch - thank you Very much Samantha
The tavern just reopened with a limited menu due to short staff. But there were plenty of options and everything was excellent. Servers were attentive even though they were short handed.
Service was horrible. They were out of lots of items on the already limited menu.
Food was good, a bit pricey. Dining area was outdated and drab - ruined any romantic vibes I had.
Breakfast-great menu with choices that are different but not extreme. The Irish Benedict was more than delicious. Prepared with corned beef made in house.
The food was excellent as was the service. My only complaint was that the seating did not match the height of the table. Live music was a bonus.
Food was average We had scallops which were very good but sides a bit boring,my husband loved the French onion soup..we will come back but probably just get a burger...
Our food was good, service was okay, and I thought it was a little pricey.
Love this tavern.....food was good....service good. Love the beer Stein idea...would of not have thought certain dishes would not be available by 6pm.
I recently moved to the area and found this restaurant on Open Table. I was looking for a nice set down restaurant with a variety of food options. Wolfeboro’s Tavern exceeded my expectations. Upon arriving, I discovered there was multiple areas for dining; restaurant seating and bar seating. We had the best server who was working over her winter break. We also had another server who was willing to help her out in between tables. I ordered Caesar salad which was big enough for two. The main courses were great. I tried something new and didn’t quite like it but they made it right. The desserts were amazing and the cocktails were well crafted. I will be back and highly recommend this restaurant if you are traveling, local or even new to the area.
Food: 5 out of 5

Value: 5 out of 5

Not fancy but always very reliable. Cozy in the winter!
The food has been sub par for a long time. Too bad as the atmosphere is very nice.
Unfortunately it was not a good evening 10/30. We decided to go for my birthday...
Waitress was very compassionate. I ordered swordfish which is pricey and it came out extremely thin and overcooked/dry. I was not able to eat it. Waitress even agreed and was more than willing to get me something else to eat. I declined and just shared my husbands Mac and cheese. I was pleased they took the swordfish off my bill. That was the right thing to do....but it did damper the birthday dinner I looked forward to having....
This was not a good meal. The restaurant was cold, the food mediocre and the service was awful. I have spent half of my adult life working in restaurants and always give the benefit of the doubt to the establishment, but this was not good.
The haddock was fishy smelling and none of of us could eat it. I have never sent a meal back, but this went back. I was told it would be taken off the bill.
The Harvest salad looked good on paper, but it was about a lb of greens and the vegetables were minced and sprinkled on top, not the hearty salad described.
I ordered a Pinot noir and my second glass brought to the table was Pinot Grigio, and the waiter asked if it was ok to drink anyway, since he doesn’t know anything about wine.
One of us ordered a coke and got a Diet Coke.
We ordered strawberry bread pudding from the menu and were told they were out and it was now apple.
The waiter was a mess. Super hyper, clearly wanted to leave, was not remotely professional. Left the haddock on the bill. Left dirty dishes on the table.
I did a bit of research to find a good place for a special dinner and this was a huge mistake. The host was nice and I handed her the survey provided with the check (also: a survey is a tacky thing you see at chain restaurants, not so much at a nicer venue).
Sitting at the bar and having apps and a burger may not be a bad time, but I would never recommend this place.
Fantastic drinks! Great pork chop! Superb service!
Delicious food and really nice waitress. We enjoyed our dinner.
This was our second visit to Wolf's Tavern and it didn't disappoint. The main attraction for us is the poutine fries! OMG! to die for! They're not always on the menu but if you see the poutine elsewhere on the menu they'll make the fries for you no problem. (for example this year they didnt have the fries but they had a poutine burger so we asked them to make fries and they were happy to do so.) Staff is amazingly friendly. Hubby got the porkchop and i got the mac N cheese. Both were omg delish although the pasta was way too aldente but the flavor was so good I just couldnt stop eating it LOL. HIGHLY recommend this restaurant whether you stay at the Wolfboro Inn or not. Even tho you are on ground level you really feel like you are underground at some 1800's tavern with wood beams, plank floors, highback wood booths in the back part of the dining room and beer mugs hanging on the ceiling over the bar for regular returning customers who earned them by drinking a certain # of their specialty beers (there are hundreds of mugs!). Great Place!
