    I love the food at Zaytinya. I met a friend for dinner last night. It was packed but the energy was great. I arrived early and hoped to wait for my friend at the bar but it was closed for a private event; this made the entryway super crowded. I don't think they should close the bar for private events because it's part of the overall experience for diners. That said, I always have a good time and the food is always delicious.

    Our party of 2 became 3 unexpectedly, and the change was flawless. We all enjoyed the delicious lunch specials; 2 of us had the Megalosalata with salmon, and the other had the Salmon Durum. Both dishes were excellent. And our server, Alex, was super nice and very efficient.

    There are two outdoor seating areas. One is close to the restaurant, the other is almost by the sidewalk. I’ve sat at the closer outdoor area before and it was so warm that I took off my sweater and jacket. Last night, however, we sat at the further outdoor seating area (no one was sitting at the close one, I don’t know why) and it was FREEZING. The food became cold within 2 seconds of arriving to our table and wind easily got into the “tent,” if you can even call it that. There was only one server in the area so it was slow. I usually love zaytinya but was extremely disappointed by my experience.

    Como siempre; la comida es muy buena , pero lamentablemente el servicio al cliente ha decaído. Los empleados mal vestidos, sin ganas de trabajar y sin importarles. Dijimos que era nuestro aniversario y no les importó.

    We had a delicious dinner and especially enjoyed the lamb shank with pureed eggplant. We were very impressed with the individual heaters set up for the booths near the doors to the patio. Very thoughtful. Our server, Kamen, was helpful and pleasant.

    Zaytinya is my favorite restaurant, period. With many dietary restrictions, I still have many choices at Zaytinya. Every dish is unique with exceptional taste. Yesterday we celebrated my son’s birthday at lunch. Alex was especially attentive and thoughtful. Overall it was a joyous and memorable occasion. This year 2023 Zaytinya has been our place to celebrate milestone birthdays. Thank you for making them special, even in warmth of outdoor tents in pouring, cold rain.

    Food was fantastic. Great setting for a group dinner. Service was great. Some one was always making sure we didn't need anything, our water glasses were always full without asking, and provided great recommendations

    Our meal was delicious and the service was attentive without being intrusive. They accommodated my daughter’s vegan requests with ease. We particularly loved the eggplant dish and the Brussels sprouts. The cauliflower was also really good. It was busy on a Saturday night and they seated us upstairs which I thought might be a little quieter but I was wrong. Being upstairs put us closer to the speakers in the ceiling playing loud music. We could talk at the table but it was loud. The only other minor quibble was the lighting. The interesting light fixtures upstairs had bright white bulbs in them which was a little harsh at night. I know this sounds super picky but warm white bulbs on a dimmer would make the upstairs space feel cozy and charming. We’ve been to Zaytinya multiple times and will definitely return because the food is excellent! Next time I might request a table on the first floor.

    Zaytinya is an excellent choice and my favorite restaurant. It appeared that there was a shortage of personnel this time around or an overwhelming amount people for the weekend. With that being said, the food was excellent as usual and our waiter was did his best.

    This is the first time that the service is awful, starting with the women at the front desk, they checked me in and we had to wait so much. I needed to check again and then they mixed something to give us a table. Once in the table, we waited again so much, we didn’t have a waiter to check on the table, the manager had to note our order. The food is excellent, but the service was very bad.

    We have eaten at Zaytinya several times over the years (most recently on the day after Thanksgiving 2023) and are always impressed by how good the food is. I'd add that we lived for several years in the Mediterranean region. Everything is great but we particularly enjoyed the grilled octopus on this visit.

    Food flavors and seasoning were excellent. Stayed true to Peloponnesian theme. The avgolemono broth is a revelation. The spanakopita was reimagined and worked very well. The pide’s were nicely dense, yet thin and retained good crispness. Only small critiques would be to make sure branzino skin comes out shatteringly crispy, and ensure the dates component are better represented in the roasted mushroom dish. Service and atmo were pleasant and delightful.

    We absolutely LOVE Zaytinya! We used to live in DC and would dine here. We moved away about 20 years ago, but when we're back, we try to get to Zaytinya. Each dish is amazing! We have a nut allergy in the family, and the staff was helpful in accommodating our needs. One change from years past is that the quality of the bread is different from what we remember... a little thinner - not as robust. But the experience and food is delicious as always!

    As plant-based diners, we are challenged to find dishes that are vegan, salt- and sugar-free, plus not pre-processed. No problem at Zaytinya. From the roasted cauliflower to the baba ganouge to the Imam Balyildi, we found dish after dish that was compliant, scrumptious, and filling. And the bread..OMG. Warm and tasty. Found a great white wine from Macedonia. And they do Turkish coffee perfectly.

    Zaytinya is my favorite restaurant in the world, hands down. The level of quality—both in the food and the service—is astounding, especially given the size of the restaurant. I’m a vegetarian, and the vegetarian dishes alone are extensive and worthy of their own restaurant. I ordered many mezze, all of which were phenomenal. Additionally, the complimentary warm bread and olive oil are delicious and I’m astounded they do not charge for either. Service is exceptional—there are dedicated employees for refilling the bread, and dishes come out rapidly with impeccable presentation. This restaurant truly has no flaws. And even better for the reasonable prices. 18/10.
