We always love Zaytinia, and our recent dinner was great. We love the Baba Ghanouj, Brussel Sprouts, lamb, pita and beef dishes. It was great.
The food was great, once we got it. It came out quickly, once we ordered, which took almost an hour after we ordered our drinks.
Zaytinya has been one of our favorite DC restaurants for years — delicious food, gracious service and a fun atmosphere! It’s a great place for a group!
Zantinya rarely disappoints. The food choices were good., though the chicken dish had only as meager topping of chicken!
We sat outdoors. While it was great to be able to do that, the tents need to be vented on top to release the heat from the sun. They also trap the noise to the extent that it's difficult to have a conversation without shouting. Still, it is a place that is easily accessible to disabled persons, like my friend who joined us. Finally, the restrooms should be more accessible to diners. Two restrooms in the back, with NO ramp to get to them is inexcusable. I recommend it with reservations but not because of the food.
Solid meal and they were helpful repositioning the umbrellas as the morning warmed up. Timing on the food was off but the rosé was spot on!
Horrible experience, made a reservation for 8:45 and weren’t seated till 9:10. The hostess walked us over to a table and left us there to figure it out. Food was subpar we got the Lebanese chicken and rice which tasted like airplane food. Do not recommend horrible service for mid quality food
Every dish was delicious, ample, and beautifully presented. The trout and imam bayaldi eggplant dish were knockouts!
Great outdoor seating and quick service! Food was delicious.
We sat outside during the most perfect evening DC can give. Our waiter was really friendly and knowledgeable. I had the octopus and my partner had a kabob. The octopus was excellent, not chewy in the least and the crisp exterior was pleasant. My partner said the kabob was really good and very authentic from his travels abroad. Our desserts were really nice. I highly recommend the apricot and Greek yogurt dessert. Portions were perfect. My partner is 6'4" and, honestly, when the kabob came out, he was concerned it wouldn't be enough food. Once he was done, he said it was the perfect amount. It was his 50th birthday and we could not have had a better time.
Can’t say enough great things about our dining experience! Our waiter Elvis recommended we do the Chef’s tasting menu and it was completely worth it; we got to try everything we wanted on the menu plus a few things we would never have ordered ourselves (the Turkish beef loin and apricot Greek yogurt were outstanding!) Our favorite dishes were the Brussels sprouts and octopus Santorini. The outdoor dining was lovely; we were seated outside by the art installation, and it wasn’t too noisy at all. Can’t wait to come back!
This place was AMAZING! The food was spot on, the service was excellent, and the total experience was well worth every penny!
A very nice restaurant for a post museum visit or for a diner out. Great food and great service.
The outdoor seating left much to be desired after 9pm. The city rodents took over the dining area and literally forced us to conclude our celebration early.
We usually love this place. However, the restaurant doesn’t seem ready to open to full capacity yet. Waits were long, (30 minutes past reservation to be seated, fifteen minutes after that to get a glass of water), and they didn’t have enough basics prepared like pita bread to go with hummus, which we waited another thirty minutes for. We weren’t offered anything while we waited, and though the manager said she was going to send something to our table in thanks for our patience when we were finally seated, nothing arrived. Very disappointing experience. We understand that restaurants are eager to reopen after the pandemic and want to be supportive of that by dining out again, but they should be careful not to overextend.
Our service was absolutely fabulous! It was my 21st birthday and they were super attentive and gave us amazing recommendations. They also brought out a cake for us to celebrate. Our waiter was the best I've ever had and he was still in training. For ~80 dollars we were able to get 8 different plates for 4 people! The drinks were also absolutely fabulous!
Excellent gourmet food. The cocktails are wonderful. Beautiful site.
Great food, great service. Definitely worth the trip!
Outstanding food. Service was really nice. Can't wait to go back.
A bit disappointed with food. With 4k plus great reviews were were super excited to dine there, but maybe the cooks were tired or it was Mercury in retrograde (Lol), but everything we ordered tasted very mediocre: the octopus was burnt and the tentacle tips were almost charcole-like, the pide was okayish, tasting like a papa jones pizza crust; the Brussels sprouts were marred by some mayo-like heavy sauce - something you never encounter in the true Turkish or Greek cuisine, and so were the mushrooms - that heavy sauce combo definitely degraded the taste of the main ingredients; the babaganoish was okay, like from a fast food express chain. The food was fine, but definitely way below our expectations. We wanted to order more, but we had to stop as we were discouraged by what had already arrived to our table. This is my honest opinion, intended not to hurt your business but hopefully to help you make it better. The service was good though, and the ambiance was very nice.
First time back since pandemic. We had been many times before--one of our favorites. Food was excellent, as always. Menu now limited as they get up and running (hopefully!), so we were not able to get some of our favorite dishes. Service was slow--waiter was attending to many tables--undoubtedly due to the staffing issues restaurants are now facing. But we certainly were glad to be back!
the worst experience ever. was seated and there was no server bringing us water for 15 min. we waited and asked for sparkling water which took another 15 min to come out. no one came to check on us or take our order. it took them another 15min after bringing us water to even take our order. the food came out and was so disappointed. most of the things were bland had no flavor. do not get the cocktails here. tasted like straight rubbing alcohol couldnt take another sip after my first taste. even my boyfriends cocktail was so gross it tasted like air freshener. server did not even check on us to see how the food was or if we needed anything. it wasnt even busy inside and everything was so poorly handled. came here cause of the good reviews but this was a huge mistake to come. we are never coming back to this place. just expensive and lacks flavor and taste. service is horrible. fattoush salad was so sad looking id had better kebab and salads at a small hookah and kebab place than this restaraunt. horrid. avoid at all cost.
Loved the food and drinks. Large window seating for those that love the ambiance but prefer to stay inside. Nice and cool on hot days. We will definitely be back.
We were there to celebrate my birthday. We usually love Zaytinya and come here for special occasions. However, this time I was underwhelmed with our experience. The service was just okay from start to finish. Not sure if we will continue coming.
Got back together with my SIL who lives in LA. She had visited an Andreas restaurant in LA and was totally delighted to find an equally delicious spot in DC. it was a Sunday afternoon and the place was jammed—with tables outside, in the shade, and inside, it felt like a joyful post-pandemic reunion for EvERyONE!
Delicious food in a gloriously lovely spot!
Zaytinya was my fav restaurant to go to, that’s why I went there to celebrate two of my friends birthdays. The experience was not what I was looking for. We did an outdoor reservation and when we went to check in the person at the front desk led us to a table which was tiny and had no place for the 5th guest. We walked her for another table and showed her one which we could have but she said that area is closed and made us sit at another table. Which was understandable but within minutes another party of 5 came and she made them sit there. Which surprised us. But never mind. Now after 15 mins we get our waitress Alex who seemed fine and happy to see us there but was so inattentive I told her to celebrate birthdays and we want menus and water. She was so
Lost. She didn’t bring us QR code or water for next 20 mins. We were there at 1:08 and our food order wasn’t taken till 2:00. We didn’t even get water till 1:45 and that too after asking several times. Then we asked her if we could move one of the umbrellas as it was super sunny and bright she said we can’t move the umbrella as each one is for a table but we showed her an umbrella which wasn’t for any table and was a liner but she ignored us. Now somebody with the name Danielle came and said heard you guys want an umbrella we ll see what we can do and she left till 3:00 nothings happened. The experience was so belittling it was painful. Now it was raining we asked if we can move in and that happened luckily and our server inside was amazing I am so sorry I couldn’t get her name. She saw us sitting inside without anybody to cater to us she came and took over our dessert and coffee came within mins.
We left a $10 tip on a 107 charge I was in no mood to give a tip but I did. Left a note on the receipt and asked for the manager. To my surprise the manager was Danielle the sam lady who couldn’t figure out the umbrella situation. I gave my feedback she asked me if I need a gift card and I declined. It wasn’t a happy exp
One of my favorite places to eat in the city. The food is great and the atmosphere is inviting.
Best Mediterranean food I’ve had, simple small plates and yet sophisticated. Constant quality. My favorite restaurant in DC, in a wonderful location.
Great food, ate outside in the shade. Did not miss the : baba ghanouj, lamb skewer and meatball dishes!
Love this restaurant - the food is amazing. The cocktails are very creative. However, I was disappointed to learn that there is absolutely NO vegetarian option for the Roze Brunch.
The service was excellent. The food was very tasty.
Absolutely delicious food and drinks. Great atmosphere. Fabulous service! Cannot wait to come back again.
Delicious lamb and tabouleh with the best falafel I’ve had in ages.
The food was very tasty and authentic. The food came by surprisingly quickly, despite it being a large, crowded restaurant. The staff was so friendly! Our waiter was very attentive, made sure that we were doing well continuously throughout the meal, and recommended good food. Also, the dessert was exquisite! We ordered the chocolate coffee cake with the ice cream and the deconstructed cheesecake, which had original flavors and was very good. The environment felt welcoming and friendly, and the restaurant had great taste in music.
Great food and good ambience. Definitely feels like a corporate restaurant and the food is great but not revolutionary.
We are consistent patrons. The food has wonderful flavors. The meats are perfectly medium. The noise was a bit loud but the service was efficient and friendly. We recommend highly if you like Mediterranean/Middle East food.
Seated outdoors under cover with excellent service. Always a favorite
The restaurant is very noise and it was difficult to chat.
Excellent choice and our first experience with Medertainian.
Zantnayia set the bar! No regrets, can't wait togo back.
Zaytinya was wonderful. We originally had reservations for outdoor seating. The hostess called to ensure we still wanted outdoor seating in light of the weather and changed our reservation to indoor quickly and effortlessly. We were late due to traffic and parking shenanigans, but the restaurant still accommodated us. Our server (I forgot her name 😩) was great and the ambiance was perfect for a sophisticated Friday night out with friends. I absolutely plan to visit again for both outdoor and indoor seating.
We were seated right away at a nice table with plenty of space . All the food was delicious, especially the fattoush salad and the Brussels sprouts. The noise level was a bit high, but overall a great meal.
