Zia's Lago Vista
Zia's is the best for a large group brunch! The bottomless deal is outstanding ($15 for two hours, ability to switch between mimosas and bloody marys, create-your-own bloody mary bar), they take large reservations (rare for brunch), the food is consistently delicious and reasonably priced. Cannot recommend highly enough!!
Our reservation was on time and we were seated immediately. We love the ambiance of Zia's. Our server was so friendly and accommodated special interests of ours so easily. We had a wonderful time, but it was quite noisy when we left because there were so many happy people celebrating there. Definitely will go again!
Always fresh quality food choices that are made with traditional flavors and care.
Excellent Food & Service. Our Server Sam was Great.
Will be back soon.
Added to my fave brunch spots! Great service and I had a huge party. Will definitely be back!
Absolutely freezing!! Terrible Valentine’s Day experience. We had to eat with our winter jackets on the whole time & it ruined our whole mood/date.
The service was good. It was busy and they were polite and helpful. I had seafood and the scallops were rock hard from being over cooked and so was the shrimp. Most of the mussel shells were empty. My fiance had a pizza and said it was good.
It was Valentine’s Day, I grew up in Edison Park, and we went to Zia’s on NW HWY for years, I thought we would try this location out. How could we go wrong with such a wonderful authentic Italian place? Wow, where to begin. The two ladies at the host stand did not greet us when we entered. We waited in a line behind the couple that stood there before us as a courtesy to them and then I got irritated when another couple walked in and went right up to them and they checked them in. I let one of the hosts know we had been standing there and they’d seen us arrive before the couples they checked in, she apologized yet she still sat them before us. I let her know that was not ok, she said I’m sorry; You’ll get a better seat than them at a low top in the back section where it’s warm. We were seated, they were apparently hosting a private event behind folding privacy screens that were dividing the dining room. On the other side was some type of wedding or event, with a guy on a microphone, we could hear everything they were saying and the speakers they were using had horrible feedback. Nothing about the evening was romantic, warm, inviting. Our server was abrasive, we asked for a wine menu - He was not friendly, which would not have been a concern if he was a good server. He offered nothing. No suggestions, he didn’t even tell us his name. He seemed bothered to have to be at work. The tables around us appeared equally as uncomfortable. It was very cold, granted I do understand that it is 11° in Chicago, but no one should go to a restaurant and have to wear their coat, several ladies in the dining area ate their entire meal in parkas and wool coats. The food was the only redeeming quality at this establishment, although not the best I’ve had. The bus boys were the most attentive members of the staff. I will never go to Zia’s again. Please fire your entire staff except for the kitchen, and start over. I’ll never brag about Zias again. How embarrassing to the owners. HardPass
Food was salty, the food took over 45 minutes to come out and everyone around was freezing.
Great food and service
It’s one of my favorite brunch places. Nice menu. Good prices. I love the unlimited mimosas and bloody Mary’s. Service is very good. Our food came in about 5 minutes after ordering. Our server kept our drinks topped off. They didn’t rush out after eating. The one negative thing I see is that the noise level is very high. It’s difficult to communicate with the person across the table from me. If you address that issue it would be a five star restaurant. 👍🏻
Breakfast pizza was quite delicious and the bottomless mimosas were continuously refilled without having to ask. Definitely recommend as a weekend brunch spot.
Went to Zia’s for my birthday brunch and couldn’t have been happier! The bottomless mimosas were truly bottomless and our server was extremely attentive, refilling our glasses often. Can’t wait to go back! All the food was delicious and good-sized portions.
The restaurant was FREEZING. It made for a miserable experience. The ladies room was so cold it was like going outside. I could not wait to leave.
Sad because the food was decent and staff very nice.
Zia's is always a good bet for weekend brunch. Great for large groups or a more intimate gathering up front near the bar. Everyone that works at Zia's is friendly. Unlimited Bloody Mary's and Mimosas is the way to go. The food is consistently good. My favorite is the breakfast pizza. We'll be back again and again. Thanks.
I would definitely recommend Zias! The people serving the unlimited mimosas were definitely on top of it. The server we had didn’t really listen well so he got our order wrong but I feel like that also has a lot to do with how noisy it is. But it’s also brunch time with unlimited mimosas so of course it will be noisy. The food was okay I still had a good time.
Restaurant was a little chilly, otherwise a good time.
Perfect for a girls brunch
Always an enjoyable evening out with wonderful fresh prepared food and drink, topped off with attentive and friendly service.
Always a quality meal, start to finish. Wonderful selections for drinks and food options. Terrific service that is attentive and friendly.
Outstanding service. Manager stopped by our table personally to see how the experience was.
Really enjoy Zias Lago. Had been to Zia’s in the past but this is a great midpoint location for my friends and me
Food was wonderful and our waiter was a delight.
This place is great for a large group. They accommodated our group for Sunday Brunch with 14 people. The food is delicious and they have unlimited Mimosa's and a build your own Bloody Mary bar during brunch. Service was attentive, fast and nice. Highly recommend.
Came for New Year’s Eve dinner and it was great. Service and food were excellent. Will definitely be back!
Great New Year’s Eve party for families with small children
Christmas Eve. Very busy and they were out of a few specials. Still a good dining experience.
In the past we have been very happy with this restaurant. Unfortunately on the night we went (Christmas Eve) two of the four dishes we ordered were below standard. The seafood pasta ($29) consisted of overcooked pasta, 2 shrimp, one scallop, and 6 mussels. The veal dish ($29) was tough and the angel hair pasta overcooked. We mentioned this to the waiter after the meal and he said he would take care of us the next time we came to the restaurant. Our other two dishes ---Mussel appetizer and Spinach ravioli were good.
This is a good restaurant but missed the mark on this date. We would still return but in event that the meal was below standard let the server know immediately rather than wait until the end of the meal.
Place packed on Christmas Eve yet they were clearly understaffed with 30 to 40 minute waits or longer for food. Not what it used to be and menu more limited. Hopefully they will be better prepared in the future
Spent a wonderful Christmas Eve here - loved the musical entertainment!!
Beautiful Christmas music
Great Christmas Eve dinner.
It was a busy night and we didn't get to sit in the dining room. We were right by the bar.
It was very busy (but expected for a Sat night). The food was great and there was a ton of it! Our waiter was very busy but he wasn’t neglectful at all. Would definitely recommend.
It was a very nice time and great place. Highly recommend
The new menu and wine list were limited.
Wasn’t happy with the service as well.
This place was a past favorite and it is not the same.
We had a large party, and we were promptly seated and served. The entire staff was hospitable, food was served without delay, and we enjoyed the time we got to spend together!
This was a birthday celebration for a party of 10.
We all had a great time. Our server was amazing. The food and bottomless is such a great price.
Service was very slow and not very attentive. I did not care for my pasta dish- the penne with meat sauce- one of the signature dishes. Portions of it were very cold. I ate about half of it. Not sure if my friend liked her meatball salad. She didn’t eat much either. Server never came back to ask how we were doing. We didn’t see him much and when we did it’s because I called him over. It was a bit odd. We even had to gosh him down give the bill and no one was left in the restaurant but us. I guess he didn’t want to disturb us???
