Zingari Ristorante + Jazz Bar
Our reservation was for 8:15 and they sat us at 8:30. This wasn't that bad as it's a busy week however, we ordered and the food came to the table at around 9:40pm. This is the second time I've been there and I was supposed to come back again on Thursday but I'm not sure now. Delicious food but definitely lacking in service tonight. I heard a few other tables say they waited even longer than we did. The first time I dined here, the service was incredible and personable. Tonight it was very poor. Not at all what I expected. We shall see...
Great food, wine and service. will return, a nice place to go before theatre.
Great food wine hospitality - music was great but a little loud to be prepared for that. Otherwise highly recommend!
Overpriced and poor inauthentic Italian food
I recently visited Zingari with a group of colleagues for a business dinner. Very disappointed with the service and overall quality of our meal. Drinks and food took a very long time to arrive each time. The food was mediocre at best for the price and all of our desserts were burnt. One of my colleagues that specified her allergies to the waiter several times ended up getting severely ill during her meal and had to leave half-way through the dinner. It was clear that the food was not prepared correctly and with the necessary care and the waiter was not knowledgeable enough on the menu to be able to advise on what was safe for her to order or what modifications were necessary. When this was then communicated to the staff they were very defensive and dismissive. Overall we had a negative experience and I would not recommend Zingari to others.
This was by far the best meal we had the entire time we were in San Francisco! We loved it! The owner was extremely friendly and so was our waiter! We will be back!
A little deceiving about jazz and dinner. Very few seats where you can hear the Jazz. We couldn't hear it where we were but exceptional service. Really good and interesting menu. Great wine selections.
We absolutely loved this place. Great service, our waiters were engaging, knowledgeable and funny. Very attentive. The food was divine. Can’t wait to go back.
Excellent menu options. Great food. Live jazz was a plus.
Incredibly delicious cuisine. Very pleasant elegant setting. Friendly, courteous and accommodating service. Looking forward to introducing others to this most lovely gastronomic experience.
We enjoyed the jazz show. Food is good, typical Italian flavors. My risotto de mare was of good portion and the seafood ingredients were unusually tiny. Service was great.
We had a large group of 14 folks and we were seated in their wonderful room in the back. We had the entire space and it was a dream. Paired with the amazing service and delicious food, it was even better than we all expected. We'll be back for sure.
Zingari was a zinger for a celebratory birthday lunch. We had a small, comfortable room nearly to ourselves, with no rush, and attentive, personable and informative service by Aleksandar. Each appetizer, pasta and main course on the menu was imaginative and unique, offering an appealing variety of choices for every taste, appetite and preference. The papardelle with beef short rib ragu was a show-stopper -- chewy noodles as only homemade can be, and a rich but not cloying wine reduction sauce with the beef. Abundant portions all. While we only dabbled on the cocktail list, the wine offerings would appeal to any evening crowd looking to perfectly pair their food and drink courses. We will definitely return soon for a romantic dinner and jazz that is offered most every night of the week.
Great food, amazing jazz!
Enjoyed dinner, the service, and my seat which was excellent. Definitely a place I would go again for dinner.
Food quality was ok. Dessert was 1/2 portion.
Wait staff was very nice and attentive. All three of us had excellent meals. This was my second time there and I would go back again.
Our OpenTable reservation wasn't in the restaurant's reservation book. However, it was no trouble getting a table however.
The service was a little slow and backwards - the waiter first brought our half-bottle of wine that was to be for dinner, before our cocktails. And the cocktails arrived after the appetizers.
Would still recommend, the food was excellent - the fig bread appetizer, the raviolis, the pappardelle pasta, the chocolate mousse dessert, as well as the dessert sherry.
Great service food and music. Great night out. I recommend the fig crostini and butternut squash kale risotto.
Had a wonderful time with a friend here. The service staff was funny, pleasant, and really gave some great recommendations for food to order. Thank you!
Expensive italian. Service poor, take forever to complete main entree for the table and charged 20% service directly
We arrived in San Franciso on Thursday evening and I went to Open Table and selected Zingari, what a pleasant dining experience. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, so much that on Sunday evening we came back with our friends who also loved the food and ambiance in the restaurant.
Food was very good, the wait staff was great, I would recommend this place to all I know who may visit San Francisco.
Horrible experience. Maybe it was an off night because it was a Saturday night and there was a high school reunion. Everyone seemed overwhelmed.. it took over half an hour to get drinks at the bar and the bar only has 6 seats (but the bartender also has all of the patrons of the entire restaurant to take care off we were told). Took over an hour for the food to arrive, medium rare lamb chops came medium well. Food is actually pretty good. Table next to us waited two hours for their food, gave up and left. Raj the manager and Suey the busboy were the bright spots. Mandatory 20% tip added to the bill.
Really nice piano trio. We chose this restaurant because of the live jazz, and it didn’t disappoint. Food was quite good, servers tried hard but were overmatched. The kitchen seemed to be inundated. Everything took too long. The restaurant doesn’t seem equipped to handle an extremely busy night.
We had the most amazing service there. The owner of the establishment was on hand stopping by our table and checked in throughout dinner. He was so pleasant! The food was really good.
The food was quite outstanding as was the service
I was very impressed that the owner greeted everyone
It’s so personal there
The music is fantastic
Stop by and talk to the pianist/trumpet player Bob
My boyfriend and I were celebrating our six month anniversary and I got to surprise him and pick a restaurant. I looked high and low for the perfect spot.... booked other places, cancelled, booked more places and cancelled. I was waiting for the perfect spot to hit me.
I stumbled upon Zingari and I was immediately intrigued. I once again cancelled a reservation booked Zingari and sent my boyfriend an invite. He too was intrigued. I usually miss the mark with my choices but we were both in agreement on Zingari. We loved it! We loved that we both had plenty of food options- I am vegan and he is omni. The food was delicious, the ambiance was fantastic and the staff was attentive and we never wanted for anything. I loved our waiter! He was great, had a fantastic personality and made our night perfect!
We have found our special date/ celebration place! ❤️
A beautiful evening with superb music and delicious food !
Neeraj is my college classmate and he’s the new owner. He gave us great service, as did the rest of his staff. Jazz made it a fun experience!
I've been here many times (whenever I go to a play at the Geary), so obviously I love this place. The folks who work here are all kind, considerate and efficient. The food is delicious. They make good cocktails too. It''s not the cheapest place around, but it's well worth the money
I don't go into the part that has the Jazz, but I'll bet's great too if that's your sort of music.
It’s so nice restaurant. Food was very fine. They had a good selection of wines. The atmosphere was comfortable. We enjoyed so much!
Spaghettini with meatballs were good. The bread- not so good.
It was stale and they charged me $1.50, even though I left it on the plate. The bread was very stale- did I mention that yet? The glass of wine was good though. Service was prompt and courteous. It was across the street from my hotel.
These folks figured out exactly how to get the most money for the least effort, food and wine costs. Yet charge super high prices.
Start with the Wine list. The vintage wine they claim to have in the wine list was wrong on two wines. The markup on the lousy wine that we ordered with six times retail. That bottle sells for $10. They sell it for $64!
Pasta dishes were tiny in portion size and $30 each! Not too much taste. To top it off, there is a ”mandatory” tip of 20% on all party sizes. Just 3 of us splitting dishes was $207.000!!!! This is practically theft. Plus, they let in families with screaming, noisy kids. North Beach is around the corner for fabulous Italian food, next time. See photos. Tourist trap to avoid.
I ordered a very expensive amarone, usually a very robust wine, the quality of the bottle I got was something you would find on the bottom shelf at Safeway. I sent it back, after a discussion, and got a Brunello that was recommended, but later found that they had charged me with both bottles. As it turns out, the Brunello was not that good either. So, spent over $300 for two $20 wines.
Chuck: Firstly, many thanks for dining with us. We are grateful for you sharing an evening with your new family at our Ristorante. Secondly, we are certain your memory and knowledge of what you ordered and the history behind what you is inaccurate. You first ordered Amarone. You didn't enjoy it, so we happily suggested another wine and served it. We offered the Amarone complimentary. It still displays on the check but is described as comped. Both wine's producers are quality producers.
Very friendly service and great food. One of my favorite Italian restaurants in the Bay Area.
Great jazz. Wonderful pasta.
Great food, as always. Convenient to Marine Memorial for dinner after events in their theater. And I can always seem to be able to get a table at the last minute.
decent ambiance, good service but food was just ok. ood was underseasoned and unremarkable, which was surprising.
Zingari Ristorante offers exceptional service and consistently great food in a variety of interesting combinations. The recommended items on the menu pleased my palate.
