Red Rooster Harlem
Our server and experience were outstanding! I cannot wait to come again!
This place is really fun! Fantastic chicken wings and fried chicken, deviled eggs and cornbread. Delicious cocktails.
I wasn’t impressed with the appetizers but my entree of shrimp and grits were really good. I would come back for brunch because that rum punch was the best Ive ever had
First time there. We were seated and served immediately. Short wait for order and food was delicious.
The food was really good, and our server was great. Felt a bit rushed however as the food came out really fast. Suggest ordering main course after appetizers are served to avoid this. Portions are good sized. Music did make things loud but added to the experience. Enjoyable and will return.
I read Marcus Samuellson’s book Yes, Chef and was so excited to eat there. It was the perfect evening. Great service, great food, and an exceptional band. We had the barbecue chicken platter with waffles, beans, macaroni and cheese, biscuits and we ordered the cornbread. We ordered the platter for 2 for the 3 of us and it gave us lots of leftovers for the next day. Service was very good and the restaurant accommodated us when we were late without a problem. I highly recommend it.
Great from start to finish. Greeted on entry and sat at the bar for a drink whilst waiting for the table to be ready. Great atmosphere with just the right level of buzz and music. Once seated at the table the waitress was wonderful, really helpful and interested in what we’ve been up to. And the food was delicious, not too quick between courses and free corn bread for the table too. Would happily return.
Awesome doesn’t capture the experience. Went with sister and 3f friends visiting from PA ... I live 2 blocks away and always have a good relaxing but energetic experience here. Live Music with female vocals also started upstairs in middle of brunch.loved it .
Food was not good.. not seasoned well... and the service was horrific ...NEVER AGAIN ...
Amazing food, amazing drinks! The service was impeccable and out of everything I love the fact that they accommodated my autistic daughter which was really appreciated! Thank you Red Rooster! Love the Cabrera family
This restaurant has a lot of buzz surrounding it, so it had a high bar to meet. Unfortunately, I think the hype exceeds the quality. I expected more from a top chef. The food is good, but it is not worthy of the hype and hike (if you do not live uptown). There are plenty of good comfort food restaurants in the City that offer very tasty options at a lower price. Check out Jacob's Pickles (also Uptown). The brunch there is top notch and I think outdoes Red Rooster.
First time having dinner at Red Rooster and it was everything I anticipated and more. Loved the food, loved the vibe, loved the service, loved the music. Wish this place was in my neighborhood, I would be there every week. Went to Ginny's below afterward, and had an amazing time there as well.
Service was great and the food was very good, but it was very noisy.
Great and refreshing.
The place had GREAT FOOD
No longer the dining experience as Marcus Samuelson envisioned, or as we expected. Live music in the bar was blasted to all corners of the dining room, making table conversation impossible. Count us out in the future.
Lovely food and service, would highly reccomend and hope to go back soon
Lovely ambience and the food was good. The place is noisy and I had to ask my companion to repeat himself many times.
Everything was too salty. Waffles were dry.
Great food and ambience in the heart of Harlem. Service was fast and efficient. I highly recommend the fried yardbird - delicious. Appreciated the host giving us a tour of Ginny’s downstairs jazz club. Very cool and intimate.
The scene at Red Rooster is welcoming and lively. The food, conceived by noted chef Marcus Samuelsson was disappointing and expensive. A mediocre buffalo chicken sandwich cost $21 at lunch. Corn bread cost $7. A grilled napa cabbage entrée with cucumber salad and fried onion was a confusing mélange costing $18.
I’ve been a load of times but have to say New Years Day brunch was a let down. The food was average and had clearly been pre-cooked, service was extremely slow and the general vibe just not what it usually is.
New Years Day lunch. The food is exceptional, the service is helpful and friendly ... a total joy!
The food was creatively prepared as usual. However, the service was extremely slow.
We went on New Year’s Eve, and there was only a prefix menu to choose. However, our waiter had difficulty remembering which course we had just eaten.
Also, we had to wait almost 45 minutes between courses.
which course we had just finished.
Came here for NYE. Food was superb. Will definitely be coming back.
Not a lot of vegetarian menu options for NYE pre-fixe. My entree was a cabbage. Literally just a grilled cabbage. Would have been a fine side, but come on. Not worth $75
I typically really like red rooster but their prixe fixe NYE dinner was disappointing. Vegetarian options were a joke. One of the course options was a plate of sautéed cabbage - that’s it. Our server was pretty accommodating though. Will stick to casual meals here.
The food was very good except for they ran out of dessert and the service was terrible- absent, rude and slow. They don’t seem to care about their local customers or service recovery.
The restaurant was great but the night was made great by awesome live music. The band The Rakiem Walker Project performed and it was a great feel good event.
Food lacked flavor to me.
Great as always.
This was a restaurant on my NYC short list and it did not disappoint! Great energy in this establishment and a fantastic meal. Our reservation was right on time and the hostess was personable and very attentive. All of the wait staff is friendly, keeping us updated when there was a sight delay with our entrees. Two apps, cornbread, four different meals, dessert, sangria - each wonderful in their own unique way.
Wonderful place for brunch
Not only was the food amazing...but so was the service!!!
Excellent Food & Service
Must try that short ribs! Delicious. Great meal all around.
It was fantastic!
I was not happy with the service I received from the hostesses . My waiter was wonderful but the hostesses were quite rude. First they could not find my reservation which I showed them several times on my phone through open table. I also had two elderly people with me who would have been more comfortable sitting in the booths, we asked to move there before we ordered, they told us we couldn’t move those tables were for other people. No one ever say in those booths the whole time we were at the restaurant which was over 2 hours. We had a reservation and were the first people in the restaurant, but were treated rather rudely and the elderly people with me were from out of town and had never been to the restaurant but went based on my recommendation but said they would never go to Red Rooster again or recommend the restaurant .
It’s a nice place, worth a visit if you’re around. Service is slow.
