Restaurant at The Hotel Tides

We had a wonderful experience at The Hotel Tides. There were 4 of us and we each had something different for dinner and we shared appetizers. Each meal was delicious and everyone was raving about their choices. We had the steak special, short rib, crab cakes and the chicken dish. For apps we had the salad, tuna, and the ever fabulous mussels. Our server was knowledgable and a lot of fun. We are all looking forward to our next visit.
Service was extremely slow for a non-fully seated restaurant on a Saturday night. Our server was inattentive w/ our table. Food took an unusually long time to come out from the kitchen. Food was luke warm and way over-salted. Sadly, I will not be returning nor recommending this restaurant.
Our second visit to this restaurant for celebration. The first was for my husband's birthday, the second, this time, was for our anniversary.
I'm shocked this place is not more visible for it's AMAZING food and service! Consistently great service. Lovely decor and the menu leaves no disappointment. I did not offer 5 stars on food this time around just because the short rib my husband ordered was a bit less "fall of the bone" than we expected. Not sure if it was quality of the meat or the meat temperature. My duck was tasty, I only wish the meal was a bit more hot to service.
We had the squash soup, bang bang shrimp as starters. 5 stars. The ricotta cheesecake was yummy, a little more firm textured than I expected, but great. The vanilla creme brulee...GET IT! Perfection. Carl was our server and he is just an awesome down to earth and graceful human.
The establishment is a jewel, beautifully appointed white table cloth high end experience. We tried Cave the night before and it was wonderful food, but the ambiance does not compete.
I say go for Tides!
The ambiance was amazing the food and the service was superb I would go back in a heart beat.
It’s always a special place for us.
Food and service very good. Reliable place where every selection is consistently above average.
My husband and I had the most delicious, enjoyable dinner here last Friday. We had come with friends another time and also enjoyed it tremendously. Great ambiance and wonderful food. Highly recommend.
Stacy the bartender set the mood with making a good cocktail and conversation. Nice Jazz was playing at a level that did not disrupt conversation. Dinner entrees were delicious - highly recommend the short ribs and the duck spring rolls for appetizer!
Carl ( our server) is very pleasant and did a great job. The food was tasty and adequately priced. We went off season since it was tough getting an Open Table reservation during summer.
Food, service, decor all amazing
I am so glad this is still a little bit of a neighborhood secret for dinner in the off season. The management and staff are very friendly, the food is fresh and the atmosphere warm - can not ask for more than that.
The Short Ribs are a must!
We love this place. The food is always delicious and it’s very cozy in there. Staff is typically friendly and accommodating and the menu isn’t overpriced.
After reading a review for this restaurant in a local paper we were very anxious to give it a try. We checked the menu on their site and were pretty sure that we would have quite a few choices we might enjoy. After we were seated a very personable and competent waiter brought us the drink menu and the food menu. We both ordered house specialty cocktails which we really enjoyed. But then came the disappointing part. The menu was extremely limited with only 5 or 6 main courses although there were many more appetizers. The main course menu included maybe half of the items shown on the website. We asked the waiter if there were any nightly specials but he said there were none. So we both settled for short ribs which were very good but didn't have enough sauce. The appetizers were fine and the desserts were good. We found out later there was a new chef in charge so some of the more interesting main courses that we saw on their site were no longer available. A restaurant like this should not have such a limited menu!!
Just wonderful!
Excellent place to have a nice dinner, service and food is excellent
Great food, service and atmosphere Nice quite dining space.
Great experience!
Great date night spot! Great food, service and ambience. Will definitely be navk
My family was able to get together and enjoy each other company.
Fabulous experience as always.
Bravo to Ryan and our server Carl.
Thank you again, Carol
Service and food were excellent
Food is delicious but dont go there hungry because you’ll leave hungry. Portions are super small for what they charge for an entre.
Outstanding meal- server Chris was also amazing. Will be back!
The restaurant is strange and not in a quirky sort of way. The decor makes little sense, not beautiful, rather dark, but not intimate. The waiter was very knowledgeable of the best things on the menu. Steered us to the short ribs, which were delicious. Otherwise a forgettable expensive experience. Not going back.
What a nice experience. Our waiter was so personable and efficient. We ordered the fisherman's stew and it was perfect. Drinks were excellent as well. Will definitely be back
Exquisite. An icon living up to its reputation of excellence.
What a Wonderful Dining Experience!!!
This was actually our third time dining at the Tides Restaurant.
Lovely dining room; attentive service.
Off the beaten path; A short walk from The Asbury Hotel or Convention Hall.
Appetizers: Duck Confit Spring Rolls and Prosciutto with Melon.
Cocktails: Prickly Pear and a Dirty Martini
Dinner: Fisherman’s Stew and Crab Cakes
Always excellent; we will surely return again!!!
Food was delicious, large portions. Both servers were very friendly and attentive. Dishes were a little over priced. Nice diningroom, beautiful trendy hotel.
Would like to stay there!
The food was great and the staff is even better if that's possible.
Fabulous food, excellent service, beautiful setting, we love The Tides!
Always wonderful. Food and service excellent in s charming setting.
It was for our 10 year wedding anniversary- overall great experience, fabulous food and service, the dining room could just use a little updating.
Always creative, always delicious, always great service.
Dining room could use an update. But love going there!
We loved our time at the Restaurant at the Hotel Tides. It's a hidden gem in Asbury Park.
The food, the service were top notch. My husband said the short ribs were the best he has EVER had. My halibut was delicious and the french onion appetizer was the best part of a french onion soup.
The ambiance was quirky and cool.
Six of us dined there a few days ago for my daughter’s birthday. Food, drinks, and service were all excellent.
Hidden jewel off the beaten path in Asbury. If you are looking to get away from the tourists and have a great meal as well, this is the place!
We will be back! Loved it❤️💙💜💚🧡💛🖤
The roast chicken is always a winner.
We always have a great time at Tides. Chris, Ryan and Carl take good care of us . New menu is awesome. We had pork chops and crab cakes. Atmosphere is friendly and the service is always great. We relaxed on the porch after dinner with a cocktail. Great ending to a wonderful dinner.
We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful experience made only better by our server Chris. The food was spectacular. We dined on the mussels and the duck confit rolls appetizers and then the blue cheese and bacon encrusted strip steak and the angry fisherman’s stew for dinner. The flavors were outstanding. We had excellent drinks from the bar as well. We will be returning very soon.
