Beatrix - Oak Brook
The wine pours are VERY small.
Took over 35 mins so to get a glass of wine! Then had to flag down our waitress and she was too busy to even attend to us so another person helped (who was much better!) but then the original waitress came back. I said something to the manager but still the entire meal was off from the food, service and overall lack of attention to have our drinks refilled etc. It’s a shame because our previous experiences were all great! The pot roast tasted like it was sitting around for days...
Drinks were forgotten and we had to sit and mark our check with individual numbers in order to get it split. However the food was great and the ambiance was wonderful.
We were sat 30 min after our reservation, and they were not apologetic. Our table was meant for 8 guests and we only only had 5, very awkward set up. Took 10 min for waitress to greet our table. Food took extremely long and half our table had food while the other half had to wait. We will not be going back.
Excellent food and service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We like seafood and oysters and they didn’t have a big selection of seafood.. everything else good.
Great place for birthdays!
Excellent meal and service. Like their menu-healthier options. Berry tart was exceptional!
Food is good but nothing special. Nice to have healthy options but overpriced. Best value and ambiance as a place for lunch.
Great food and service. It’s a funky vibe that we loved!
Nice menu for comfort food. Chimichurri skirt steak was very good. Our waitress had described it as one of their hearty meals. The steak itself was on the small side and the only thing served with it were French fries, which took up about half the platter. I guess that qualifies as comfort food, but fried seem kind of like an easy out on the vegetables. I would definitely go back, but also definitely try something else.
Beatrix has a contemporary vibe. The food is excellent, although the portions are rather small for the price. I've been there twice, and everything I've order is delicious.
Service was wonderful. Great value on really tasty meal. We’ve been to Beatrix several times and have always had great experiences.
I enjoyed my food very much., our waitress was nice...but I was not happy where we were sat, we were shoved in a corner and it was difficult to get out of my chair...I ended up hurting my knee trying to get up.
It was an awesome breakfast. So many different dish’s that we’re all excellent. The nitro coffee was the best.
I hosted a party of six at Beatrix last Saturday for my daughter's birthday dinner.
Everyone had a fabulous dinner, the food preparation was on point.
The service was outstanding as usual.
Beatrix is a very well managed restaurant that is running like a fine Swiss timepiece.
I absolutely love this place. It is very loud inside. It’s hard to talk to people you are with. Sitting on the patio helps. We did talk to the hostess about the noise however she just said, “sorry”!
When I made the reservation, I said we are coming for a gf birthday lunch at 1:30 pm. I was Not told that you could not get lunch. I asked specifically.
When I got there we were told we could only order off the brunch menu at 1:45pm. They could not make a simple lunch menu salad for my birthday guest ....no lunch until 3pm. The waitress was sweet and checked with the chef said no.
I was disappointed in this lack of accommodation for one hour, so we went with burgers the only lunch item we could eat.
Next, it took a long time to get the food. I noted gluten free and did not get a gf bun. Had to ask again. Manager brought the burger back with gf toast. Sadly, the burger wasn't flavorful at all (just ok) and the fries were not crispy or fresh. I was really looking forward to these kennebec fries but I didnt see a difference in the taste tbh. Maybe because they were cold?
Service was friendly but overall disappointing food
Btw, a woman waltzed in with a toy poodle (not a service animal) in her arms and was sat next to us inches away and barked. The staff saw this but did nothing. We were going to order dessert but decided to leave. No one asked how we liked anything or how was our experience.
Our server, Megan, was cheerful, courteous, and attentive to our needs. For example, I mentioned that I don’t eat dairy. I had ordered the quinoa cakes w/poached eggs; she came back to tell me that there was a bit of Parmesan cheese in the cakes. They were delicious.
My companion also had poached eggs with her meal, but one was over cooked. Megan apologized and promptly brought a fresh, perfectly cooked egg. Coffee was refilled promptly, and often. We were not rushed, even though it was a Saturday, and getting busier as the morning passes.
We also stopped at the bakery for an iced coffee drink and some pastries. Again, the staff was so upbeat, it was hard not to buy one of everything. The Mexican iced coffee was refreshing, and the bran muffin topped with blackberries and raspberries was scrumptious. Plenty of gluten-free and vegan options.
Excellent food and service.
Loved our lunch at Beatrix! The atmosphere at the Oakbrook location is wonderful, staff is super friendly & food outstanding!!!!
The butterscotch cookie ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Enjoyed a few apps (the burrata, beets and Kung Pao brussel sprouts) from the bites menu along with the chicken kefta kabobs over lunch with my niece. Service was efficient and attentive but not hovering which allowed us to visit and enjoy our visit as well as our meal. We stopped by the bakery counter on our way out and picked up a delightful lemon cookie. Looking forward to returning soon!
Excellent food and nice atmosphere but crowded and fairly high level of background noise.
Excellent service, leisurely meal, not rushed from table.
I like the lunch menu better than the dinner menu. Menu offerings (juices, snacks, and main) are unusual and seem off putting, but once brought to the table the appearance and taste are very good.
Service was slow. This is second time that service was slow. Server was never around.
Just took a while for r food to come which meant we didn’t hv time to shop at the mall as we planned.... wasn’t very crowded so not sure why it took so long to get r entrees.
The chicken Bebe wasn’t like I’ve had in the city. Not as crispy. Lots of gravy/juice over it. The cakes were like pudding. Caramel and chocolate. When I’ve had it in the city it’s so dense and delicious. Was disappointed. We had the timiest table for two also.
This is my new favorite place to go in Oakbrook! As a Vegan, The healthy food selection is solid. I forgot to ask for no additional oil but they wished my gazpacho away to bring me another without the added oil on top. The arugula and pear salad is amazing, ordered without cheese of course. The kung pao Brussels Sprouts - wow. I will be going back to get those again!!
Seated immediately, but it was a 6pm on a Tuesday night. I know Beatrix replaced the former Reel Club at this location. Like the Beatrix menu better. The atmosphere was very nice. Not too noisy; you could hear yourself and your date talking. The service was very good. The server recommended some gluten-free options (short ribs) which were very good. The Chicken Bebe was excellent.
Great healthy options with an electric flair. Modern, contemporary atmosphere. Friendly staff. Try the lemonade with activated charcoal.👍🏼
Amazing place and great healthy food
I have been to the location in the West Loop and now Oak Brook. I absolutely loved the West Loop experience. In both cases, I had the Neatloaf because the first time I had it I just loved it. This time, at Oak Brook, it was just okay. It was not as flavorful as I remembered it. The West Loop server described it as "thanksgiving dinner in a meatloaf" and it was. But at Oak Brook I could not taste the thyme or other Thanksgiving types of flavors at all. It came with braised kale which was good and mashed potatoes (I think) that were rather gelatenous. Everyone else enjoyed their food. The fruit drinks and cocktails were very good. And we shared caramel pie which was fantastic.
Great love the food
Service was slow, food good, noise level was high. Music, particularly was especially loud.
Overall very good.
Everything was delicious, the chilaquiles were so yummy!
music was to loud, we were pretty much yelling across the table to have a conversation. Otherwise, enjoyed our brunch.
Food and service were good as at other Beatrix locations. You are paying slightly above average here for location and ambiance. For this price point and style I wish the wood tables had at least place mats
