The Pint Public House - Halifax
Booked for 14 people via Open Table and arrived and they didn’t have our reservation when we arrived. They did set us up on the patio but the drinks took 45min to arrive and it was a Monday and not that busy.
In the end all were happy but not ideal for out of town guests.
Noise was only high as we were there for the Champions League final - even so we could converse easily, and despite the large crowd the service was excellent, as was the food and selection of craft beer.
Most of the food was good, but the fish batter was greasy and over-cooked, and the fish dried out. Service was slow and not good - had to hint down the waitress for the bills. Noise level was ridiculous - couldn't hear anyone
Made a reservation well in advance to make sure we had somewhere to eat, when we arrived at the restaurant I was told they had no reservations and asked had I confirmed with the restaurant. I then showed the email confirmation I received and was told they didn’t use Open Table for reservations and there was nothing they could do. Nothing was offered to help and no assistance in getting a table and refused to get a manager. We then had to walk around for 30+ minutes looking a place to eat. Highly disappointed in this restaurant, as we’ve never been and won’t be trying again because of the server.
Very happy with both the beef dip, the wings and the Black Angus beer
Hi Ewan, thank you for the positive review! We are glad to hear you enjoyed our food and beers. See you soon!
