The Woollen Mills
Great location just beside bus stop on quays. Were there for a meal for 2, we were seated quickly. Staff very friendly and service prompt. We both had the steak sambo and both loved it. High quality food. Chips were unreal too. Would recommend and will return 👍
Went for dinner with workmates. We sat in the outside seating, which thankfully was covered considering the changing weather in Dublin. The food was very good. My partner and I are both vegan, and the restaurant had a few options for us. We opted for the sweet potato and red lentil cake, whipped Irish ‘feta’, pistachio pesto & grilled fennel. The cakes (2) were nicely spiced and there was quite a generous serving. More than adequate to fill you up. My colleagues had the bangers & mash and the pork chop and both enjoyed their meals. I would return and try some of their other options.
Brilliant food & great service!! Perfect spot for brunch!
Overall was good. But tables are too close together - felt like we were in same party with the people beside us.
We went to the woollen mills for brunch which was disappointing. I've heard great things about the woollen mills and I will return for dinner at some stage but never again for brunch. The brunch menu is lacking. They had no options with fruit and only 2 or 3 breakfast items on the menu. The majority of dishes were lunches and I want eggs for brunch. I got the bacon and egg waffle sambo. The waffles were nice and fluffy but the bacon was unevenly cookee either overcooked and hard or very fatty, the dish also needed a sauce or relish. My husband got the sweet potatoe baji which was tasty but the poached egg was over cooked and it needed the runny egg to help moisten the dish. Place was very quiet but nicely decorated and staff were friendly and efficient.
Delicious food, very ample portions. . Lively vibe , great welcome and service
Service and appetizer was excellent but the burger was dry and tasted bland. It was way overcooked and overpriced.
Great for every day dining. The staff was so friendly and the food was fantastic. I got the brisket Mac and cheese - wow. So good. Great atmosphere and an easy way to watch the day go by!
Beautiful food, would eat the butternut squash bhaji every day if I could. Was too warm inside, and we moved outside for dessert - would have loved to eat upstairs but unfortunately it was closed, will go again!
I booked and we were put at a table by the sandwich cart- not exactly very special. Service was very spotty- fortunately we were not in a hurry. Food was beautifully displayed and good. Expensive but all of Dublin is now.
Had a lovely meal on Friday, good service and delicious food
Nothing special. Bland tasteless fish fingers served with a ramekin of frozen peas? Not worth the money.
The staff are really friendly and considerate. Nothing is too much for them.
The food was delicious and I can only praise the whole dining experience
in The Woollen Mill.
The main course took over 1 hour from the starters to be delivered to the table. The food had been under a heat lamp fo r some time so was dried out.
There was not enough servers on the day, they were great to deal with but were overly stretched.
Lovely food and service as always. Accommodating to vegans.Thank you
Lovely staff, good value food and bang in the centre of town.
Great food, but chaotic service from the wait staff. The hostess provided the best table service for us, which was odd, but appreciated. A livery place in a good location to the center of the cities night life. Can’t fault the food though, enjoy.
Overall excellent experience.
We had a delicious meal and was artistically presented. The service was good. It was very busy the night we dined due to the Gay Pride Parade, but the staff managed it smoothly.
Have the squash bhaji as your starter, it was absolutely DEVINE! The service is greats food is prompt and delicious, and the early bird is great value.
I lked very much the location, food (ribeye), ambiance, service.
I´d will go again if I have travel to Dublin in the future.
I will recomend The Woollen Mills to all my friends and relatives.
I was going to say: Meh! but it wasn't as good as Meh!
The service was excellent, friendly and helpful. Location is great. But the menu sound really interesting, until you realise that anything substantial costs a bucket of money. So, not being well to do, eight of us had the sandwich type things: fish fingers, steak sandwich, brisket roll. And quite honestly, for a sandwich, it is over-priced. I did have the tin of anchovies as a starter, and that was delicious, although all the kitchen staff had to do was assemble: nothing was made in the restaurant, except (perhaps) for the bread.
Oh, the bread and butter pudding is wonderful.
But the mains were just too cafe-style with expensive restaurant prices. I appreciate the imagination of combinations, but not at this price.
I probably won't return again.
We enjoyed our dinner!
First impressions were not good... our reservation could not be found (we were asked quite condescendingly if we had actually made a reservation). Despite arriving a few minutes late, our table was not ready and then we were seated in the worst table (close to the entrance to the dishwashing area) despite there being other empty tables available.
I ordered Steak & Eggs (note plural in the title and description) medium well. The steak came out closer to well done with only one egg. My husband ordred the Alabama dry rub chicken wings which were so dry as to render them almost inedible. We commented to the waiter about this and was reminded it was a dry rub. However, dry rub should not equate dry meat which was the problem. The wings, despite being served as a large portion, were tiny and obviously easily overcooked which is what happened. Our waiter did bring us some sauces to try to alleviate this and even offered to change the dish to buffalo wings. However, at this point, my husband had lost his appetite.
We had our six year old with us and was not offered a kids menu (though a later table right behind us with two kids was offered the kids menu right away). I had simply assumed there wasn't a kids menu not being offered one.
On a positive note, our waiter was good. He recommended a kids portion size for the waffles which was delicious. He was attentive and in my opinion did try to engage in service recovery.
€82 for a very disappointing meal overall - two mains, a kids dish, two non-alcholic drinks, one cocktail and one beer. Service charge on a table of three. We left a 10% tip on top of that for the waiter in cash and we hope he got that as we appreciated his efforts.
It was meant to be a much anticipated Father's Day brunch and the meal was a major let down overall. We will not be back.
While the venue is lovely (we had a table by the window upstairs) and we had a very nice waitress, we felt the food was extremely overpriced for what it is, therefore are unlikely to return.
My second time to visit. Love it. The gin cocktail with grapefruit is delicious! The early bird menu is fab! Plenty to choose from.
Great place for lunch. There was 12 of us, we had 3 course set menu which was €33. Anchovies, Bhaji and Mussels where our favourite. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. Good cocktails. Will definitely be back.
The staff was lovely, but the food was disappointing and overpriced given the quality.
Top restaurant for families with kids!
Highchairs, changing room, really nice people working there 👍
I've been here lots and love it. Today not good. Burger v v dry and Mac n cheese was also v v dry. Typical Irish we didn't complain mostly because it was bank hollier sat and we wr having a lovely time and didn't want the stress and attention.
All is good but a server was really rude when we are trying to split the bills. I love the restaurant very much that is why I have always recommended this place, but the server's attitude is really disappointing and I truly hope she would understand how it affected my night and she would reflect upon herself. Overall outstanding food and service by the other servers.
Super lunch, very relaxed. Food was delicious and service was top class
Spectacular farm to table food and generous portions
Delicious brunch, the waffles with berries, sheep’s milk yogurt and pistachio - oh wow. Divine! Beautifully refreshing peach Bellini made with genuine peach purée. Good coffee, great atmosphere and wonderful staff. 10/10 would recommend for brunch!
Lovely meal and staff are both friendly and informative of the menu. Go here regularly and will continue to keep going
Really enjoyed it!! Highly recommended!
And in the heart of the city!
We were a little disappointed in the service - efficient enough but not as friendly as the other Dublin restaurants on our trip. Also, my husband ordered the lamb and an extra side of broccoli. Well, the lamb entree was served with broccoli! I wish the server had mentioned this and saved us the unnecessary side dish. The good news is that the food was delicious. Just wish there was service to match.
Wonderful place where my family and I caught up with an old school friend in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The menu is varied and we each enjoyed the food which was beautifully presented with tantalizing aromas and incredible flavours. Thanks for taking such care of my toddler who was equally impressed.
Fantastic food, great location, service was wonderful- recommend 100% best meal we had in Dublin!
