Creative Mexican food, sunny atmosphere, attentive staff
Great service, atmosphere and food! Especially liked the cucumber margaritas! Abby our server was fantastic and had great recomendations. Will definitely come back!
The food at Bien Trucha is outstanding. We've been coming here for years and it has never wavered. It is my favorite restaurant in the tri-city area. On our last visit, there was a power outage and they called us several hours before our reservation to let us know and then called us again once power was restored to let us know they were open again and we could arrive for our scheduled reservation. Great service!!
The food is always very tasty and we enjoy all the dishes. The entrees are outstanding and it's fun to share with your guests.
Awesome! Love it! Great Drinks to match the great Food!
It was our anniversary. They did not honor our request to be seated outside. They didn't even acknowledge it. As always, the food was amazing.
Innovative menu. Good location. Plenty of parking in the area.
Odd 2-part building. Music is severely loud. Glad we tried it -- won't be going back.
Went there for the first time after hearing about it since 2010 and we were not disappointed. Food and drinks were amazing. Will definitely come back again.
My husband and I went to Bien Trucha for our 19th anniversary. The food was absolutely exceptional. We tried five different items off of the menu and each one was fantastic. The cocktails are fresh and the service is exceptional. If your looking for a romantic setting this probably isn't the place as the tables are very close and it can get a bit loud. But it is fun and we don't know of any restaurant that has better food and service. Make a reservation or you'll be waiting on a weekend.
Nice visit to Bien Trucha after a long break away from this restaurant. We enjoyed the great food as always and a nice attentive service. We may be fans again...
I would love to see more vegetarian options added. The only thing my family could eat was the vegetarian and hongos tacos. The rice looked good but the waitress said it's made in chicken stock. The four of us ate nothing but tacos, which were delicious, but it was a bummer. Our experience overall was okay because of the lack of options and we were rushed a bit because closing time was approaching. I'd love to see the rice made vegetarian because that's all we can have besides tacos. I love this place but being vegetarian I'm not sure I'll come back as there isn't much I (or my family) can eat.
Excellent staff and environment! The food is amazing!! They cater to gluten allergies!
Double date with friends. Absolutely amazing food; not a bad morsel or drop. Service was fabulous - attentive without being overbearing. We will be back to try more!
Mouth watering food!! Hidden gem. Wish we had one in Minnesota. Will go back
We went on May 5th, so we expected it to be packed. It was busy, but not in a bad way. Service was excellent. Food is AMAZING! Get the corn...trust me. Drinks were so yummy -- not too sweet, which was great for me! Awesome night. We'll be back soon!
I read rave reviews for Bien Trucha so I had real high hopes. I was unfortunately very disappointed with the place. I feel the food was very overrated, overpriced and the place was so noisy it was difficult to have a conversation across the table. The place charges $3 for a can of soda and $5 for a can of beer!
Love it, food and service are both outstanding. Highly recommend going
The food was excellent. We have been looking forward to eating here for years and Bien Trucha did not disappoint. We will go back soon!
Pros: The food. I don't think there is a single bad item on the menu. Our party of four did a round of almost every seafood taco option available to us and added in the red snapper special. Every one of them was deliciously prepared and left the table wanting more. Service was very good, our waitress was attentive and friendly. They have a very good cocktail list and make a mean mojito. Bill may seem a little on the pricier side but you can't find food this good at just any place.
Cons: For a place that encourages sharing of their dishes, they sure seat you at a small table. You would not be able to have more than two taco servings at a time, tables are that small. Not a problem for us but I could see it being an issue for others. The drinks, as good as they are, are really what will boost up your final tab. If we had reeled that in, much less money spent.
Overall, I say this place is definitely worth your time if you are looking for high quality Mexican food in the burbs. Have been to their side project A Todo Madre in Glen Ellyn and it is equally good.
Was a great place. Food was excellent and the service was superb however there was a group of 8 behind us that was yelling at the top of their lungs. Made the experience not so enjoyable. Was happier at the bar than at the table.
Great food. Noisy but fun environment. Will definitely go back.
We've been going for years. It's hard to get in. You have to book in advance or wait in line. It used to be worth the wait. Things have changed. Food cold, the melted cheese we ordered was chewy and cold as was the rice.
The drinks were different. Heavy on the juice making them very tart.
If you want to wait to be rushed and served cold food. Then that's the place for you.
It is too bad as this used to be my favorite restaurant. I probably wouldn't go back. This may be cause they are growing. In the process they have lost quality control.
Very welcoming, charming and comfortable environment. Food was excellent and we were not disappointed in any item we ordered. The pricing seemed comparably high but not totally unreasonable for the quality. We will likely be back another time for date night or with family visiting from out of town.
We've dined quite a few times at Bien Trucha and have never had a bad experience; however, we were a bit disappointed this time. We ordered raw and baked oysters. They were very small compared to past visits, but the price was still the same. We look forward to the raw oysters normally.
The waitress that we had was also unattentive, forgot to place our order, and did not check on us to see if we needed anything during our meal.
The young man that cleared our table and filled our water glasses did a great job at trying to compensate.
Bien Trucha has a reputation for great food and excellent service, but I'm starting to wonder if they are getting slightly overrated.
Food was really good, and the staff is nice and friendly.
As always the food and the service was wonderful! It's always fun trying a new dish. Be sure to get the corn, it's my favorite!!!
Food was excellent, service was impeccable and ambiance was warm, cozy and terrific!
The food was exceptional, the ambiance was nice! The restaurant is very small but the service was great! I would highly recommend! The driks were amazing!!!
This place is an unexpected find...It's the kind of place I would have expected to find downtown. Trendy, cool, really good vibe. Really, really good food.
The food was excellent. The service but precise but I felt rushed. Great drinks but I server never asked us for seconds.
The best!. Great drinks, insane food! I don't really want to eat anyhwere else. Ever.
Every dish and drink we got was OUTSTANDING, we can't wait to go back! It was a romantic little place
Excellent food; perfect amount of spice! Excellent waitress.
Dinner was good. Everything came out almost too quick though. I would have liked to have more time to chat with my date in between items.
Overrated with overpriced food
Best Tacos I have ever had, and excellent service!
Everyone is very friendly, the food is delicious!
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Love this place.
Delicious drinks, amazing food, great atmosphere, and outstanding service.
