Fresco at the Gardens
Wonderful food and atmosphere. Always pleased when we choose this restaurant!
The food and drinks were delicious. A great setting for a relaxing lunch.
maybe in another season sitting outside would be good, but there were way to many flies, and hornets swarming around for us to enjoy our time together, and the food took about 1 hour to arrive.
Excellent food and service. Great menu that accommodates different diets such as gluten free, Keto, and Mediterranean diets. Of course the views of the gardens are fantastic. Definitely a great experience.
It was our first visit but it will not be our last. We made reservations for early morning outside, 8:30. Our waitress was delightful. I recommend the French Toast with the fruit on top. Good coffee too.
It is difficult not to have a great time in Fresco. The garden view is incredible and the place is fantastic!
Lunch at Fresco was a joy. The staff were all very friendly and were very much on top of our needs - glasses always kept full. I would highly recommend a visit to this location. Restaurant was somewhere that you want to go again.
The food is nice and fresh and the views are spectacular!!
The unobstructed views of the garden enhance the overall experience for a relaxed meal in the beautiful architectural designed dining space. Our lunch was delicious and plated with artistic expression. Our service was the only disappointment, for the server did not seem to be enjoying Himself - of course we all have bad days! The convenience for ending a tour at The Gardens where one can continue to enjoy the relaxed state of mind is unbeatable. I would certainly return and do recommend Fresco to others.
Everything was classy but my chicken walnut salad needed a whole lot more lettuce. I went away hungry. Very good but a shallow bowl when lettuce is so cheap
Great place! Mimosas super, had lobster chaser salad delicious 😋 beautiful setting. Met my sisters from I’ll for lunch, stayed 3 hours with no rush by staff to move us out. Very much enjoyed by all. We will definitely meet here again and put it on our list of favorites😀😀.
Food was delicious and the view from indoors was decent. Other patrons including a birthday for a child was ongoing so noise was a bit higher than usual. Slightly overwhelming amount of insects indoors. But that's expected. Overall a great experience.
I can't eat salads, which came with my crab sandwich. The wait staff gave me options and I chose fruit, which I'm allergic to melons and she saw I only got berries. Very accommodating to my needs.
We are making plans to go back and bring friends soon!
What a wonderful way to wrap-up our visit to the Anderson Japanese Gardens. Fresco at the Gardens looks out over a panoramic view the gardens through floor to ceiling windows. There was nice patio seating but surprisingly offered limited shade from the intense sun the day of our visit. They could do so much more with the patio to create a zen-inspired dining experience.
The menu was ambitious and we found its variety satisfied every taste and appetite in our party. Service was very good and we have already recommended to friend to take the garden tour and make reservations for the restaurant following it.
Our waiter, Caesar, was very attentive, friendly and professional. Our meals were presented extremely well and were very tasty. Our host, Kevin, was quite personable also. My granddaughter was treated royally on her 6th birthday!
What a beautiful place to dine!
The inly comments I could add was:
1. Was the AC working?
It was very warm
2. The noise level makes it difficult to visit.
Swagged Oriental bright fabrics from the ceiling work nit only work to absorb the sounds but be beautiful, too.
Food was OK. It was better the last time I was there. Waiter was weak on personality.
First time here, ordered South of the Border hash, it comes with Avocado, it was brown. I asked to get a fresh avocado, I expected fresher foods from here since their name means "fresh" I asked for a regular corona I got a corona premier. I didn't send it back I just drank it. The look of this place is very nice but the service was just ok, food was good, a little pricey for breakfast but I'm sure it's because of the beautiful garden you get to see while dining there.
Beautiful location. We were driving through Rockford at lunch time and discovered this gem :) I loved the crab cake sandwich, and would give that 5 stars. My husband got the sliders, and gave them 4 stars. A waitress stopped by to say she would be right with us, and then disappeared - (They were busy - every table full, and some people were starting to sit outside) Eventually, another girl picked up our table. So, a few minor glitches, but overall a very positive experience - If we lived closer, we would definitely return!
Excellent lunch. The young lady at the desk worked very hard to find a window seat for us. Beautiful view, delicious food and a fun lunch!
Beautiful view, wonderful food, good service, truly enjoyed our visit here!
Great food with an amazing view of the gardens. My wife and I loved the presentation of the plates and the flavors were very good.
Definitely will go back soon!!!!
It was awesome just to sit by the garden view and have a good meal. Would recommend this place to anyone who is in Rockford especially when it’s nice weather outside. Looking forward to taking my husband on a brunch date here.
Great service excellent atmosphere and food was very good.
Great service and food. This was for Mother's Day treat.
Great food and service as usual
Fresco at the Gardens was great! The food was great. The service was great. The scenery was great. We ate outside and got caught in the rain but the umbrella covers kept us dry for the most part. The food was very reasonably priced and taste great. I'll definitely be back and recommend to everyone!
The food tastes very good and is correctly prepared to order. The spread for the toast is a welcome surprise because it looks so well made and tastes great. Coffee and cream is also very good. The view outside the windows is wonderful and the dining area is very well set up. Overall a very nice place to eat.
I ate lunch at Fresco at the Gardens on back-to-back days. BOTH days were delightful, the main difference being that one day was glorious sunshine and the other was gray and rainy. However, it was still nice to be seated near the very large windows and enjoy the Gardens in both types of weather.
I also had the same waiter both days. He maybe could have had a tad more personality but all-in-all he was prompt and our meals were yummy. I think the chef does a great job of providing some nice meal options and specials each day. I am so glad to see this restaurant doing so well at the Gardens.
Having a restaurant there is a big plus and it is surely one I will return to!!
Excellent service! Very comfortable dining room with a large fireplace and views of beautiful scenery. The food was spectacular!
Using open table is very convenient, but the check in person messed up and claimed they couldn’t find our reservation. We were given a table that was awkward and not near the windows and when they realized the screw up offered to move us. With three small children that’s not as easy to do so we stayed put. One in our group had ordered the Nutella crepe and it came out just a plain empty crepe. Our waitress fixed it and apologized. She was very good. The food was good, but doesn’t stay warm on the plate. I’m not sure if it’s the thickness of the plates but within 5 minutes of delivery, pancakes, eggs and potatoes had cooled to almost room temperature. Over all it was a rushed messy experience for the price point of the food. I wouldn’t go with a larger group.
The food was fresh and delightful. Excellent bloody Mary.
Excellent service and food. Very clean with breathtaking surrondings. The perfect dining experience.
Atmosphere great, would like more separation from large groups, ie showers etc. Causes sound level high and hard to have conversations. Also restrooms too small for number of people to accommodate. However, great experience and would highly recommend to everyone.
Lovely day, lovely lunch! Definitely going back! The food was awesome, and the views unbeatable. The service was a little bit slow, but as we weren't in a hurry, it was no real issue.
Cool place for breakfast/brunch/lunch. Food was great, service was amazing, very professional and quick. Cesar checked on us few times. It was worth a drive from Chicago. Thank you
The overall appearance of the restaurant was AWESOME.We were not to happy with our seating area,we were seated right in the middle of everything,we prefer to sit along the wall,or over to the side. Also the dessert selection ,could of been a little better. We missed, not having the cannoli's, from Francesco's. Overall , we would be willing to give Frescos, another try. Hopefully our next visit, will be better!
Have eaten at Fresco’s numerous times. This was our first Easter brunch and it met our expectations. Had the fruit, fresh and sweet) along with deviled eggs, eggs Benedict, bacon and of course a selection of deserts. Had a wonderful time with no pressure to rush through brunch.
I was expecting to order from a menu No mention on your website when I made reservations. Very expensive for someone who does not eat a large amount of food
