Milestones Grill + Bar - Lansdowne Park
When you pay good money you want value for it. We have been to this location 3 times now and we are always disappointed compared to other Milestones. I ordered the salad which is suppose to have strawberries and pecans. I got 3 slices of strawberry thinly cut less than one whole strawberry and no pecans. When I asked for pecans for my salad I got pecan dust in a very small serving. I ordered chicken with my salad and barely got a quarter of a small chicken breast and you charge extra for this. We spent more than $100 (2) for our meal and it seems like the restraurant is try to skimp on the servings. Not sure I will go back to this location because this has been the experience each time. Very disappointing!
We had a great date night at Milestones - Lansdowne! The service was excellent, the food was phenomenal and the atmosphere lively. Will definitely return! Recommended!
The seafood pasta was ordered with a different sauce of garlic cream which was a perfect balance. We felt insulted because they wouldn't accept an expired app coupon although the waiter took it with our choice & nothing was said until the bill came.
Great view from their patio! The service was excellent and the food, yummy!
My wife and I have always loved going to Milestones our whole relationship. And this time we went for our anniversary. I still enjoy when we go, I just find maybe we aren't the demographic being targeted anymore. Theres a lack of simple appetizer I would order and the meat sizes offered keep shrinking.
We were chastised by your company for not showing up at the reservation, when in fact we did. I gather that the hostess did not mark our name off the list. My husband’s meal which was the prime rib, it was very very fatty. Not worth the price. My meal was excellent. Unfortunately that night there was an electronica music festival. Which caused a lot of loud bass pounding throughout the entire evening. The service was excellent though
Our server was amazing it was our daughters graduation and she brought a slice of complementary cheesecake with a sparkler took photos for us and was always checking if we needed anything else frequently ! Great experience
Great place for friends to get together and chat. The restaurant was easily accessible, tables are set up to be conducive for small groups to talk. Great place overall.
The food was overall fine. I had brunch:
Whole grain toast (good, probably sourdough, nicely toasted, and no butter like I requested. I wish you had 100% whole wheat option as well)
No meat - You could offer vegetarian sausage/bacon instead of offering sliced tomatoes or avocado
Potatoes - Average but the garlic butter tasted like powdered garlic
Poached eggs - This was the main problem - they are cooked in vinegar water and the whites still tasted like vinegar. Also they weren't drained properly so they were sitting in a pool of vinegar water in the dish. If you must use vinegar water, then I would suggest trimming away the outer part of the white that is whispy and absorbs most of the vinegar flavour, retaining only the smooth, firm whites.
Very slow service! It took 10 minutes to get our drinks! It wasn’t that busy in there either. They forgot that we both ordered waters and I originally ordered a coffee as well. I didn’t bother asking for the coffee because I figured it would have taken yet another 10 minutes! I did want my water and did ask for it. It took a few minutes to get it. I made sure I checked my bill to see if she charged me for the coffee and luckily she didn’t! I still tipped because our server was very informative about my seafood allergy. So, I appreciate she looked out for my health.
Special menu and there was no notice.
I would only recommend this location for Drink and Apps on the bar side. Took my mom out for Mother's day brunch, and the service was sub-par. Relatively new server, which is fine and encouraged, however, it was apparent that there is no team work at this location. She was not getting the help she needed, which ultimately made our experience forgettable.
It took 30 minutes for us to finally flag down the manager to get us drinks, food took a while and when it did arrive, there was a 10 minute wait for the other half of our table to get their meals.
Finally, when receiving the bill, none of it was correct; we didn't get the Mother's day deal removed from our receipt and were told that fruit was not included (even though it clearly indicated on the menu)- at this point, we did not want to wait for a manager and decided to pay and leave.
As a previous server, I encourage Milestones Management to be a little more involved in ensuring service by a new server is going well.
Again, not a place to reserve for a special event.
My husband had made reservations online for 5 people for Mothers Day. We were the first to arrive. The hostess was unable to find our reservation even though I had the confirmation #. I did not get a chance to show her the number because she said she had found our reservation. We were shown to a small table with a setting for 4 people!!! Obviously not our reservation. I the person sitting us if they had found our reservation, she said yes but went away to talk with someone. I told her I did not appreciate being sat at a table for 4 people when we were going to be 5 adults. They moved us to another section of the restaurant, much noisier. It was so disappointing! The waitress was super friendly very attentive, she was really good. If you accept reservations online you need to make sure that when people show up that they have the reservations they had requested. Not the best experience.
We reserved for Mother’s Day lunch expecting the three course price fix menu I received by email. We were so disappointed to find we were limited to a brunch menu that none of us was in the mood to have. Our server was sympathetic but unable to change anything. I spoke with the manager on our way out. He apologized and explained that the prix fix menu was for supper hours. The initial email should have been more clear and we would have booked for supper.
Our server was working her 2nd day and was being shadowed by a another server. She did a great job and kudos to Milestones for properly training their staff!
Food was great. Steaks served as on point. Three steak orders at table.
We had an excellent waitress, great food, cold beer and a large screen with the hockey game on - no better
Our granddaughter chose Milestones at Landsdowne for her sweet 16 birthday dinner. The wait staff surprised her with a complimentary dessert complete with sparkler. Nice touch. Staff were very friendly and accommodating to our particular requests. We did not have to wait long for our food.
Service was amazing and so welcoming and the food presentation was off the charts!!!
Our server was very pleasant & brought our food quickly because we asked for quick service coz we were going for a movie at landsdowne theatre right after. Food was good but the soup was pricey.
Great setting, great service, cafeteria grade food. Our server was excellent but having dined at the various Milestones locations I must say the food is consistently menh.
Our server was rarely at our table, its not her fault. She was very polite but it seems she had to many tables to manage. They should put more people on the floor. Once our food came out the mushroom soup tasted like it was from a can and the burger was simply OK. I would avoid this place, you can get much better service and quality for the price elsewhere in Ottawa.
I found the prices inflated for the quality of food. I wanted to redeem my "Scene points" but it became a big issue and multiple people couldn't figure out how to redeem them and I left feeling disappointed. $20 for a typiclebburger with frozen fries and $17 for a glass of wine is too much!
The ambience at this location is conducive for groups of all sizes. Dana H. was a great server; *he* was attentive, helpful, gave great advice and had a nice personality. He also had a great sense of humour to when one of my friend’s questioned him on his typically female name! The food was delicious! Recommend this location for dinner before a movie or just to catch up with friends and family.
Must have been a one off, Milestones is generally a go to no matter the occasion. Our server was very difficult to get a hold of and drinks were taking very long to come out. It wasn’t very busy otherwise it’s a bit more understandable, we actually would have to ask other servers to see if we could get more drinks and had to ask the bar for cutlery as we already had our food for almost 15 minutes and our server never came back. Disappointed this time around with the service we received as we were there to celebrate my birthday.
Food was not as good as usual, nor as good as expected.
Staff was friendly and attentive, food was very good. You could easily have a conversation without shouting over tv or music.
I wasn’t impressed that I made a reservation and got put at a table right beside the door so we were getting freezing gusts of wind from the outside the entire meal. Asked to move tables and I don’t think the waitress tried very hard to find us a new table. I love Milestones but this experience has deterred me from going back.
Food and drinks were great. Butternut Squash Ravioli was to die for and the California salad is so refreshing. The Red Wine Sangria I will be back for!
We were seated in a high top near the bar. Service was very slow but friendly.
Always fun at Milestones
Servers are attentive accommodating and funny.
Menu changes are accommodated
Love this restaurant
We were celebrating an event with friends and asked to sit in the section of Eric-asst mgr. He was not working and was told I would be given the best server.
We were seated in a round table off to side of the bar barely could fit all 4 plates on it and it took for ever for our server to come see if we wanted drinks. Once food served, we basically didn't see her. Finally she came back but in the end we ended up being served by a multitude of people. Had that been my first experience at Milestones, it may have been my last but we go quite often so I know that is not the case.
As for our experience we had before with Eric...second to none!!!
We reserved a table. We got to the restaurant and were seated in the lounge area at a too high mini table with too high chairs (my wife is under 5 ft.) and were told basically, tough. We were not informed when reservation was made that we would have to sit in lounge on too high chairs and tables. So we left without eating. very disappointed in the lack of info after making reservation. Would not recommend this place to anyone under 5' 5" tall unless that changes. We cannot believe that NO effort was even made to acommodate us after coming all the way to Landsdowne by bus from Meadowlands Dr.
Everything was great. Chicken parm main was good but there were too many flavours doing too many things. But still good
Overall very good service and food
The food was delicious. They only have the Valentine’s day menu. Less choices but covers everything I wanted and was very quick.
We all loved our food and the service was friendly and prompt. a very enjoyable restaurant. try the Mediterranean chicken. delicious.
My girlfriends and I went for your ladies night on Monday this week, and the food and drinks were great! But our service was terrible. We didn't even get acknowledged for 15 minutes after first sitting down , and the only reason someone finally came was because we told the hostess to send someone please. And then the gentlemen who served us just couldn't have cared less, forgot one of my drinks, and just didn't check on often, we would have ordered more food but we were sure we'd be waiting too long to get it.
Always a treat to experience Milestones at TD Place
The staff were friendly and efficient. As a person with a severe shellfish allergy, it was frustrating to hear how there is only 1 fryer, so I couldn't enjoy some of the menu items due to potential cross-contamination with shrimp. I appreciated receiving the explanation and requested bread instead. It was so salty that I couldn't eat it, and the second batch was burned on one side, so I did not bother having the appetizer with my family. Our dinner was good, and I would recommend others to try dining at Milestones....without shellfish allergies.
The restaurant was way too loud and the music didn't really match the vibe of an 'upscale' place to go for a date. We had a reservation and were seated in a high bar style table when there were clearly a selection of cosier booths available. We had to ask them to turn the pulsing electric dance/synth music down at 7 PM on a Friday evening because we couldn't have a conversation. Staff were friendly but often wandering seemingly aimlessly with their tablets. Had to ask several times for a coffee refill. Food was bland and underwhelming in portion size and presentation. My side salad was the star of the night. On the upside- very knowledgeable about allergies/intolerances and made a point of make sure that I felt confident that the food would be prepared with care.
Excellent service, good food and drinks. The server was very helpful throughout the evening. It was a nice birthday celebration for my daughter.
